Rams | RB Mason has slimmed down    Mon Jun 22, 09:10 PM

Joe Lyons, from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports that St. Louis Rams second-year running back Tre Mason has lost weight this offseason. He's down to between 195 and 200 pounds in an effort to help improve his speed. Mason will spend the next month or so working alongside cornerback and teammate Janoris Jenkins with trainer Tony Villiani at XPE Sports in Florida.

Footballguys view: The Rams selected potential superstar running back Todd Gurley in the first round of the 2015 NFL draft--even after Mason turned in a solid rookie season in 2014. Mason should begin the season as the starter as Gurley has yet to practice this offseason as he continues to rehab the knee injury he suffered last year in college at Georgia. Once Gurley is healthy, expect the Rams to ease himi into the lineup and start chipping away at Mason's touches.

Rams | Only first 2 years of Gurley's contract guaranteed    Sun Jun 21, 08:46 PM

Ben Volin, from the Boston Globe, reports that only the first two years of St. Louis Rams rookie RB Todd Gurley's contract are guaranteed. If the Rams cut him because of his preexisting knee injury, then the final two years of his contract are void. That's an unusually structured deal given that Gurley was a premium pick in the 2015 NFL draft.

Footballguys view: The Rams had to protect themselves due to Gurley's knee injury, and that's what they did with this contract. Gurley has superstar potential if healthy, and he's betting on himself by signing this deal. He could start the season on the PUP list, and the Rams may have to start Tre Mason at the beginning of the year. When healthy, Gurley could be eased into the starting role. His ADP of RB24 (5.05) in 12-team PPR leagues seems a bit optimistic for a player who has yet to practice this offseason. We LOVE Gurley, but proceed with caution until we know more about his injury status.

Bills | Thaddeus Lewis not on same page with Tori Gurley    Tue Jul 22, 10:52 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Thaddeus Lewis and WR Tori Gurley had miscommunications on three occasions Tuesday, July 22, resulting in two incomplete passes and an interception. Joe Buscaglia of WGR 550 Sports Radio believes that if Lewis doesn't show better command of the offense that QB Jeff Tuel will land the backup QB job.

Bills | Sign Tori Gurley     Sat Jul 19, 10:35 AM

The Buffalo Bills signed WR Tori Gurley (Browns) Saturday, July 19. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: The Bills get a camp body here. Gurley has bounced around to several different teams after entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2011 with the Green Bay Packers. He's big and has good ball-tracking ability, but he's a longshot to make the final roster with the Bills.
