I love stories. And I especially love movies.
Here's something I learned a few years ago studying screenwriting: There are only a handful of different basic story templates. Meaning a lot of movies are essentially the same story just with different characters and situations.
One of my favorite templates is called the Hero's Journey.
That term may not be familiar to you but the stories are.
Movies like Star Wars, Rocky, and The Hunger Games are all examples of the Hero's Journey.
In this template, Luke Skywalker, Rocky, and Katniss are playing similar roles. They're the hero facing a problem. A crucial element of the Hero's Journey is the Hero meets a Guide.
In our example, Yoda, Mickey, and Haymitch play similar roles serving as a Guide to the Hero.
Here's the thing. In the story of your 2021 Fantasy Football Season, YOU are the Hero. Not me. Footballguys is the Guide.
You're Luke Skywalker. Your Darth Vader could be Todd from Accounting or the three-time league champ or your obnoxious brother-in-law. Doesn't matter. What matters is we're your Yoda.
