Staff Confidence Pool (No Spread) Week 14

Looking to dominate your office pool this season? 19 Footballguys.com staff members are here to help you out. Each week they will pick the winners of every NFL game, and rank their selections based on how confident they are that the team will win. The most confident pick gets 16 points, and the least confident gets just 1. We'll even total up everyone's picks so you can get an 'overall consensus' on who our staff think will be the most likely winners. Each week we'll announce the weekly winners, and track the overall record for the entire season. A couple of things to note before we get to the picks:

  • Picks for this pool are straight up (no point spread considered). 
  • Picks are due on Wednesday nights, and may not reflect any late-breaking news. If your league allows for last minute changes, please make adjustments to your office pool accordingly. 
  • Our staffers also play in weekly picks Against The Spread, and Survivor Style 'Pick one Winner each week' formats as well. Check out the other weekly articles for more help with those type of games. 

RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK

Another big week with some great scores all around. Alex Miglio held the lead going into the Monday night game and when Pittsburgh finally won, so did Miglio. He and Holloway only missed three games each, but Miglio edged him out by a point to retain the top spot. This week's contest was very close, and the top five finishers were just five points apart. A point or two here or there was all that was needed to win.

In a crazy twist this week, the top teams from the overall board are on the bottom of the weekly board. Going against the grain with a few of the games was the key to victory this week, and although there were no huge upsets, a few favorites hurt the board. Washington kicked off the trend with the upset loss to the Cowboys on Thursday night. Then Sunday followed with Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, KC, and Philadelphia all falling to the underdogs. 

OVERALL RANKINGS

With Brimacombe's stumble this week, the top of the leaderboard just got interesting. He still maintains a 10 point lead on everyone, but the top five teams are only separated by 28 points. With four weeks to go, there is still plenty of time to make a move.

HEAVY FAVORITES

This week is tougher, with only a couple teams being the clear choice to win. Only New England and the Chargers were unanimous selections to win this week. Green Bay, Buffalo and Pittsburgh are also strong favorites this week, and the Bengals and Chiefs also have a majority of staffers picking them to win. 

DUAL SUPPORT

Sunday afternoon is tough to call this week, with the Eagles being a slight favorite over the Rams and the Jaguars have a couple more confidence points over the visiting Seahawks. The 49ers travel to Houston this week, but they received a few more points this week after their win over the Bears. The Lions have a few more confidence points than Tampa Bay despite the Bucs being at home, but the overall game has less than 100 confidence points total. 

ODDS AND ENDS

Four weeks to go and the games are starting to get tougher to call. Between injuries, playoff teams and non-playoff teams trying out younger players, things are going to be interesting these next couple weeks. 136 is the max from now to the end,
