Staff Confidence Pool (No Spread) Week 12

Looking to dominate your office pool this season? 19 Footballguys.com staff members are here to help you out. Each week they will pick the winners of every NFL game, and rank their selections based on how confident they are that the team will win. The most confident pick gets 16 points, and the least confident gets just 1. We'll even total up everyone's picks so you can get an 'overall consensus' on who our staff think will be the most likely winners. Each week we'll announce the weekly winners, and track the overall record for the entire season. A couple of things to note before we get to the picks:

  • Picks for this pool are straight up (no point spread considered). 
  • Picks are due on Wednesday nights, and may not reflect any late-breaking news. If your league allows for last minute changes, please make adjustments to your office pool accordingly. 
  • Our staffers also play in weekly picks Against The Spread, and Survivor Style 'Pick one Winner each week' formats as well. Check out the other weekly articles for more help with those type of games. 

RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK

Devin Knotts found his way to the top of the weekly board this week with an impressive 12 out of 14 correct picks. He missed the KC game which impacted everyone but only lost a couple on the Cardinals and narrowly beat out Wimer by a point for his first weekly win. Wimer actually missed two more games than Knotts did, but he only lost five on the KC game and got a big boost with 12 points by picking the Falcons on Monday Night.

Kansas City was the team that had the most confidence points on them last week, so their upset loss did a lot of damage to the board. Miami, Arizona, Green Bay, Denver and Seattle were all favored to win their games by the staff, but lost. 

OVERALL RANKINGS

Knotts pulled into 4th with his big win this week. Brimacombe and Grant tied with 70 and Roberts fell a couple more points behind with 68. As we head into the home stretch, it will be interesting to see if the leaders can continue to distance themselves from the rest of the pack.

HEAVY FAVORITES

This is a BIG week for unanimous picks with Vegas having 8 teams (half the games) favored by a touchdown or more! That means that a lot of teams will be picked by everyone, the Footballguys.com staff included. Teams like Washington, Atlanta, New England, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Seattle, Pittsburgh and Baltimore will all likely be picked by most of the players in your office pool and will be heavily favored in any confidence games as well. Carolina, Jacksonville and Oakland will all be heavy favorites this week, although considerable lower in the confidence rankings. 

DUAL SUPPORT

Two of the three Thanksgiving Day games should some of the toughest to call with Minnesota at Detroit and the Chargers at the Cowboys being two games that the staff felt pretty even about. The lowest total confidence game of the week was the Saints at the Rams with just 61 total confidence points on the game and the Saints being a slight favorite for the staff. 

ODDS AND ENDS

We're back to a full 16 games this weekend, bringing the maximum total points up to 136 for a perfect score. With so many heavy favorites this week, unless there are some big upsets, you can expect some of the highest scoring that we have had all season!
