Staff Confidence Pool (No Spread) Week 10

Looking to dominate your office pool this season? 19 Footballguys.com staff members are here to help you out. Each week they will pick the winners of every NFL game, and rank their selections based on how confident they are that the team will win. The most confident pick gets 16 points, and the least confident gets just 1. We'll even total up everyone's picks so you can get an 'overall consensus' on who our staff think will be the most likely winners. Each week we'll announce the weekly winners, and track the overall record for the entire season. A couple of things to note before we get to the picks:

  • Picks for this pool are straight up (no point spread considered). 
  • Picks are due on Wednesday nights, and may not reflect any late-breaking news. If your league allows for last minute changes, please make adjustments to your office pool accordingly. 
  • Our staffers also play in weekly picks Against The Spread, and Survivor Style 'Pick one Winner each week' formats as well. Check out the other weekly articles for more help with those type of games. 

RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK

Scoring was depressed this week due to so many teams being on a bye week but Alex Miglio survived a big hit with the Houston upset to finish at the top of the charts this week. Although he lost his top score with Houston, his other 3 losses were pretty minor and he finished 3 points ahead of Feery despite losing the Sunday night and Monday games.

Everyone missed at least 4 games, including the Houston and Seattle, so in general, it was a down week. Only 23 points separated first and last place, so scoring was pretty tight overall.  With six teams on a bye week and 394 confidence points up in smoke due to the Indianapolis and Washington upsets, it was a down week overall for everyone. 

OVERALL RANKINGS

The top of the overall leaderboard was unchanged as the top five teams were all within a couple points of each other. Brimacombe's lead is now 21 points as we head into the second half of the season.

HEAVY FAVORITES

Seattle is the clear favorite for tonight's game, with just one staffer picking Arizona for the upset. Pittsburgh, Detroit, Jacksonville, Chicago, Tennessee, New England, and the Raiders are all heavy favorites in their respective contests this week. Pittsburgh, Detroit and the Raiders are all near the top of everyone's boards with over 200 confidence points on each of them. 

DUAL SUPPORT

At the time that the picks were due, and this article was written, Ezekiel Elliott was still eligible to play on Sunday, so the Dallas - Atlanta game has a lot of uncertainty around it. No surprise that it's the closest contest this week with the lowest total confidence points. Minnesota at Washington is another game that's most folks have only put a couple points on with Minnesota being a slight favorite. Finally, the Giants at San Francisco has only 69 total confidence points with the 49ers having the slight edge for being at home

ODDS AND ENDS

A couple games have uncertainty due to key players being question marks at the time that these picks were due. As always, watch for key news on Elliot, Jimmy Garoppolo and any other key information that could factor into the final outcome of a game and adjust your lineups accordingly.
