Staff Confidence Pool (No Spread) Week 12

Looking to dominate your office pool this season? 18 Footballguys.com staff members are here to help you out. Each week they will pick the winners of every NFL game, and rank their selections based on how confident they are that the team will win. The most confident pick gets 16 points, and the least confident gets just 1. We'll even total up everyone's picks so you can get an 'overall consensus' on who our staff think will be the most likely winners. Each week we'll announce the weekly winners, and track the overall record for the entire season. A couple of things to note before we get to the picks:

  • Picks for this pool are straight up (no point spread considered). 
  • Picks are due on Wednesday nights, and may not reflect late-breaking news. If your league allows for last minute changes, please make adjustments to your office pool accordingly. 
  • Our staffers also play in weekly picks Against The Spread, and Survivor Style 'Pick one Winner each week' formats as well. Check out the other weekly articles for more help with those type of games. 

RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK

This week Alex Miglio took home the top spot, narrowly edging out John Mamula by 1 point 92-91. Although Miglio only had 2 mistakes this week, he lost quite a few points backing KC. Mamula missed 2 more games, but his risk management was better and had he picked Indianapolis over Tennessee this week, he’d have won.

Kansas City was a big loss for the board, taking down everyone and wiping out 180 confidence points. Arizona’s loss to Minnesota also hurt more than it helped, but that game was one of the lower total confidence points of the week so the impact wasn’t as great. Tennessee also took down a few more points. 

OVERALL RANKINGS

Miglio jumped ahead of Garda to move into 3rd place on the overall leaderboard. Larkin and Hicks remained #1 and #2, but Hicks gained a little ground finishing 3 points ahead of Larkin 87-84. As we head into the home stretch, Larkin leads the field by 30 points.

HEAVY FAVORITES

Dallas and Pittsburgh come in as two strong favorites on the Thanksgiving Day slate. Moving to Sunday, the teams to rank higher on your confidence board are Buffalo, the Giants, Atlanta, Tennessee, New Orleans, Miami, Seattle and New England.

DUAL SUPPORT

Detroit has a slight edge over Minnesota on Thanksgiving day, but the game is very close. San Diego has a slight edge over Houston and Oakland is a reasonable favorite over Carolina, but you may not want to risk as many points on these games this week. The Monday Night game between Green Bay and Philadelphia is the lowest confidence point total of the week and with the Eagles being the home favorite. 

ODDS AND ENDS

This week we’re back to 136 total points as a maximum and will be there until the end of the season.
