Staff Confidence Pool (No Spread) Week 12

We are proud to bring you the return of the Footballguys.com Staff Confidence Pool Challenge. 22 Staff members will pick the winner of each NFL game, and rank each choice from most confident (16 points) to least (1 point). As a tie-breaker, the person who is closest to the total points scored on the last Monday Night game will be the winner. Winners will be announced from week to week and the best overall record will be crowned Confidence pool Champion. Picks and ranks are due on Wednesday, so any late-breaking news may not be reflected in the choices. Also please note that no point spread is taken into account with these picks – it is a straight up pick of which NFL team will win this week. See the other confidence pools for picks against the spread (ATS) or Survivor / Eliminator style.

WEEK 11 RESULTS

For the second time in three weeks, Alex Miglio found himself at the top of the weekly leaderboard. Nice job! Alex only missed three picks last week, including Atlanta which took down almost the entire field. He was one of only four staffers to pick Houston over the Jets and one of only four to Detroit over Oakland as well.

Atlanta was the big upset of the week, taking down 200 confidence points with their loss. Philadelphia's implosion against Tampa Bay also cost the board 179 points which brought down almost everyone in the field as well. Andy Hicks was hoping the string of upsets from two weeks ago continued last week but that didn't happen and he was hurt pretty bad by it. 

OVERALL RANKINGS

Dave Larkin started out the season with a big win and held the overall leaderboard spot for the first week of the season. Week 2 was a disaster and he fell from the top spot and has been struggling to get back ever since. He made it back this week and managed to even extend the lead a little bit, passing Danny Tuccitto by six points.

HEAVY FAVORITES

This week seemed a little rough when trying to rank confident picks, but there were a few that were still heavy favorites this week. Green Bay is heavily favored to beat the Bears on Thanksgiving night, and the Bengals and Cardinals were both unaminous picks to win on Sunday. Jacksonville, Oakland, and Kansas City were also heavy favorites this week with a decent amount of confidence points behind each of them. 

DUAL SUPPORT

It doesn't get any closer than Atlanta landing just one more confidence point than the Vikings this week. Both of these teams have surprised and disappointed this week and there are a lot of question marks surrounding both teams. The Cleveland - Baltimore game on Monday night only drew 105 total confidence points with the Browns being the favorite 75-30. Other close games include Philadelphia at Detroit on Thursday, and Tampa Bay at Indianapolis on Sunday. 

ODDS AND ENDS

The Bye weeks are over! 136 is the maximum amount of points that any team can win this week. 

A quick note - since we needed to get these out early for you guys, it's important to note that the picks were due even earlier this week. Confidence pool picks had to be submitted by Tuesday night this week - so many of the typical things like players practicing and positon changes that could happen through the week were not taken into account. Please check the Footballguys News blog for more information as the week progresses.
