This season's new edition of Waivers of the Future will look at one of Dynasty's most grueling and boring aspects: Waivers (just like the title suggests.) However, we’ll look at it through a lens of both what to do when you’re a definite contender, and how to profit to improve a pretender. We’ll break it down for you positionally and not just tell you who to pick up based on Sleeper Availability, but also who to drop.
Quarterbacks
This isn’t the most relevant thing to superflex formats because most QBs will be rostered. But with teams carrying three QBs, it isn’t necessary to carry some if other value is available.
Droppable Assets
- Trey Lance, Dallas
- Desmond Ridder, Arizona
It’s over, guys. We gotta give it up. Trey Lance is currently the QB3 behind Cooper Rush, Dak Prescott just signed a new deal, and Lance's preseason was a disaster, to be quite frank. He’s unfortunately looked like every athletic quarterback your uncle says should play running back or tight end, which is flashy rushing highlights with an arm, but a turnover machine. Moreover, he still looks like a QB who has played a handful of games since college. The appeal of “Dak’s backup” is over, so let that boy go.
Desmond Ridder is on the other side of the same coin as Trey Lance. He’s had lots of college experience and a full season of starter reps with great weapons, but he’s still shown us he might not be able to even play in this league. Even as a backup since he’s the practice squad QB behind Clayton Tune.
Priority Add
Malik Willis, Green Bay (83% Availability)
Malik Willis is somehow still a thing in this, the 2024th Year of Our Lord. If you’re a pretender, I’m spending north of 30% of my FAAB at a shot to flip him for a draft pick. Matt LeFleur is a competent HC and Willis is at least athletic enough to earn fluff points and make people think he’s worth more than he actually is. Yes, the report said 3-6 Weeks, but the Packers kept Jordan Love off the IR list, so I’d move Willis for almost anything as soon as you score him.
Add of the Future
Drew Lock, New York Giants (70% Availability)
Daniel Jones is done. Blame it on the injury. Blame it on the media. Blame it on the coaching, but his own WR isn’t rushing to defend him.

I’m not going to try and sell you on Drew Lock's talent, but I am going to try and sell you on the bloodthirsty New York media that is growing tired of both of their teams being incredibly disappointing. Get him now before the inevitable happens.
