You've likely seen our official Footballguys Offensive Line rankings. A ton of research goes into them, and I stand by them. The model used to create those rankings has been around for several years. It is solid.
At the same time, just as with fantasy rankings at other positions, some lines could be better or worse or all over the place.

Let's look at three offensive lines that could be underrated.
Underrated OL: Dallas
Pos | Starter | Current Rankings |
---|---|---|
LT | Tyler Guyton | 13th overall |
LG | Tyler Smith | 6th in run blocking |
C | Brock Hoffman | 9th in pass blocking |
RG | Zack Martin | |
RT | Terence Steele |
Anytime a team has to replace a player like LT Tyron Smith (8x Pro Bowl), it takes a hit in the rankings. But rookie LT Tyler Guyton (round 1 – Oklahoma) has been mauling this summer. He's the early lead for the best lineman in this class. This model doesn't give rookies high grades until they prove it in the regular season. Still, Guyton plays with a nasty edge that you can't coach. In other news, C Brock Hoffman is holding off Cooper Beebe (round 3 – Kansas State). Both are a step down from Tyler Biadasz, who went to the Commanders.
Underrated OL: Carolina
Pos | Starter | Current Rankings |
---|---|---|
LT | Ikem Ekwonu | 20th overall |
LG | Damien Lewis | 11th in run blocking |
C | Austin Corbett | 20th in pass blocking |
RG | Robert Hunt | |
RT | Taylor Moton |
Last year, LT Ikem Okwonu worked next to eight different left guards over 17 games. The idea of this third-year player working exclusively next to veteran LG Damien Lewis (Seattle) is hugely appealing. Similarly, RT Taylor Moton is playing next to high-priced free agent RG Robert Hunt (Miami), with C Austin Corbett at his natural position. There's a lot to like there, especially from a run-blocking perspective. Note that this is not me saying that the Panthers line will be amazing. But I am comfortable predicting a scenario where the season ends, and they are ranked higher than 20th overall.
Underrated OL: Tampa Bay
Pos | Starter | Current Rankings |
---|---|---|
LT | Tristan Wirfs | 22nd overall |
LG | Ben Bredeson | 17th in run blocking |
C | Graham Barton | 22nd in pass blocking |
RG | Cody Mauch | |
RT | Luke Goedeke |
Every team claims to have upgraded their line in the offseason, but in trading for former Giants left guard Ben Bredeson and drafting Duke center Graham Barton in Round 1, the Buccaneers really did. Barton has been opening up huge holes in preseason action and shows all the traits coaches want from a top center. Again, like Guyton in Dallas, rookies don't get high grades in the model until they play real games. But Barton is a clear gem. Meanwhile, Bredeson will be worth a conditional fourth-round pick if he meets playing time incentives, and Tampa Bay is eager to pay that price.
