Let's take a quick look at a few linebackers, defensive linemen, and defensive backs who are either good grab-and-stash types or those you should target in trades. I hope you enjoy the article and that it opens your eyes to some of the gems on your leagues' waiver wires!
Dynasty Sleeper: LB Anfernee Orji, New Orleans
For a few months there, I thought Jaylan Ford was the heir apparent to Demario Davis for the Saints' linebacker corps, but enter Orji, who broke out with 10 total tackles on Monday Night Football against the Chiefs. With Davis back in the lineup but with both Willie Gay Jr and Pete Werner out, Orji got 87% of the defensive snaps. The undrafted second-year pro out of Vanderbilt should be rostered in larger formats, seeing that Davis is long in the tooth and Werner has been a shell of his former self.
Dynasty Sleeper: LB Devin Bush, Cleveland
With Jordan Hicks sidelined, Bush stepped in and got 93% of the snaps. Granted, it was a blowout, but he actually out-snapped Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah Bush posted a very respectable 10 total stops and broke up a pass. Somehow Bush is still just 26 years old, too, so perhaps he has a few years left in him, as Hicks is six years his senior. Lots of tackles to go around for this Cleveland defense. Take a look.
Dynasty Sleeper: LB Winston Reid, Cleveland
I would be remiss if I didn't also mention Bush's running mate, Reid. In just 27 snaps, Reid came through with four solos, four assists, two pass breakups, and a half sack. Those numbers aren't sustainable, but definitely worthy of mentioning here as someone you might want to keep your eyes on and/or just add to your taxi squad if you have the room.
Dynasty Sleeper: LB Mack Wilson Sr., Arizona
We'll add a fourth linebacker mention here. I know I've highlighted him here before, but he continues to show up on my smaller leagues' free agent lists. He's got double-digit fantasy points in all games but one this season and is definitely the Robin to Kyzir White's Batman. He's really filling up the stat sheet and has some nice upcoming matchups. If you need a solid LB3 with some upside, grab him now before he's gone.
Dynasty Sleeper: DL Yaya Diaby, Tampa Bay
Look, this position is super shallow yet again, so you really need to be on the lookout for diamonds in the rough. Diaby has shown flashes before, and while he hasn't necessarily been en fuego this season, he has back-to-back games of nine points each. And what's best is that he's doing it in different ways. Two weeks ago, he posted a sack and a forced fumble. This past week, he had five total tackles. Playing against Jake Haener and the Saints next week could be juicy.
