IDP Streaming Matchups for IDL and Edge: Week 16

IDP streaming is essential for staying competitive in your leagues. Streaming involves analyzing weekly matchups and playing different players with the best potential outcomes each week. This edition will examine the top IDP streaming IDL and EDGE options.

We had four big misses in Week 15, and only Kingsley Enagbare was the only hit, albeit a huge hit. It is time to refocus and revamp your lineup for Week 16. We will be leaving out our sleeper section again. It is the playoffs; do not get cute. Play your studs unless you are forced to stream. Here are the top IDL and Edge IDP streaming options for Week 16.

IDP Streaming Option: IDL Ed Oliver, Buffalo Bills

Matchup: New England Patriots - Ranked 30th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

After having the best season of his career in 2023, Oliver has had a 2024 to forget. He set a career-high in tackles, and his sack total nearly doubled his previous career high. The talent is there; it is obvious. Unfortunately, things have not been all cupcakes and rainbows for the Bills interior pass rusher, who has just two sacks in 12 games this season.

Oliver is coming off his best game of the season, where he dropped four tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble, adding nine pressures against one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

 He has an excellent matchup against the New England Patriots this week. They have allowed 45 sacks on the season, the eighth most. Oliver is a strong Week 16 streaming option.

IDP Streaming Option: IDL B.J. Hill, Cincinnati Bengals

Matchup: Cleveland Browns - Ranked 12th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

Hill has been absolutely on fire recently. He has 13 tackles and three sacks over his past three games. Hill is mostly known for his gap-clogging abilities, though he has been an effective pass-rusher of late. Hill only had an assisted tackle and a pass defended in Week 7 when they played Cleveland with Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center, though he has been playing much better of late.

Speaking of the Browns, they are tied for the league lead in sacks allowed with 58. Their offensive line has been effective in run blocking, though they have had some trouble in pass protection. Hill comes into Week 16 as a strong IDP streaming option.

IDP Streaming Option: EDGE Za'Darius Smith, Detroit Lions

Matchup: Chicago Bears - Ranked 27th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

The veteran pass-rusher was a terrific addition to the team after they lost Aidan Hutchinson. At 32 years old, Smith has still been playing at a high level. In the five games since joining the Lions, Smith has compiled eight tackles and three sacks, adding 19 pressures.

The Lions defense has been struck with the injury bug and will need Smith to lead this defensive line.

Luckily, they square off with the Chicago Bears this week. The Bears are tied for the NFL lead in sacks allowed with 58. They still seem to be in shambles after the coaching shakeup and are reeling as we end the season. Smith is one of my favorite IDP streaming options for Week 16.
