Week 2 began with a rough start after the disaster class from the Dolphins that ended with Tua Tagovailoa's career now in jeopardy. It's even more depressing when you consider how low the expected points are across an ugly slate of games and matchups. But alas, we have lineups to set anyway and I'm here to help you one game at a time.

If anybody is worried about the Raiders after they were held hostage by their star player until they hired an inexperienced coach who brought good vibes to a “fun fast-paced working environment,” this blurb will not provide comfort. My red flags started flying as soon as they looked at Chicago's 2023 offense and said, “Oh yes, please give me that” and hired Luke Getsy to get the best out of Gardner Minshew II and Aiden O'Connell. Fear-mongering aside, I'd worry about Davante Adams as is until we see anything positive because this offense is pedestrian and we aren't likely to see many big plays or high-leverage touches for any of these pieces. 10 points against a Chargers defense that didn't add much talent but was a pass funnel a season before should be concerning.
According to NFL Pro, #Raiders Gardner Minshew II averaged 4.4 air yards per attempt against #Chargers, the second lowest single-game mark of his career, attempting only two passes of 20 or more air yards
— Justin Churchill (@ChurchillAtoZ) September 9, 2024
On the other side of the ball, we should expect modest numbers from the usual suspects like Mark Andrews. The only concern I'd have is keeping Lamar Jackson upright against Maxx Crosby. Zay Flowers works as the Slot/Z-Flanker that is used all over the formation and at all three levels of the field despite what the production says and will be a solid PPR WR2 going forward. As frustrating as it may seem, both Ravens TEs are viable fantasy options, and the Rashod Bateman dream is over.
- Brock Bowers is the best Raiders fantasy weapon.
- The Ravens used a league-high 51.4% of 12 personnel (2TE) sets. The highest of Todd Monken's Career.

Vegas anticipates a fairly positive gamescript for the Cowboys with a 6.5-point spread and contract drama now behind them. However, it was encouraging to see Derek Carr play better than bad, and Dennis Allen has the Saints looking like a defensive threat all over again. That said, I wish I had better answers for Chris Olave whose talent I still believe in. I'm trotting him out another week to see what happens while hoping for the best. On the other side of the field, my biggest worries are the Cowboys's RBs, who have one of the Top-5 toughest matchups of the week, according to our own Devin Knotts.
- Rico Dowdle proves week after week that he isn't good enough to deserve more touches.
- Brandin Cooks is the clear second target if Jake Ferguson is out.

JK Dobbins is a nice surprise and league winner for the price it cost for you to draft him. This would mean fantasy death for any hopes for Kimani Vidal, especially since this is an excellent rushing matchup against a poor defense. Ladd McConkey and the rushing attack are the only fantasy assets I feel great about.

The 49ers have finally solved their contract drama with both Trent Williams and Brandon Aiyuk. Unfortunately, Aiyuk has some rust from being away from the team so he might need a game or two to find his legs again. You're still starting him until it's a real problem. Like Christian McCaffrey.
Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers are now considering IR for Christian McCaffrey, as yesterday was his “worst day” with the Achilles/calf injury
— David Lombardi (@LombardiHimself) September 13, 2024
Hopefully, you have Jordan Mason because you're starting him until further notice. My biggest concern is that Mason looked so good they might not need to rush him back. Moreover, Deebo Samuel picks up much of the slack as well, making him a savory option in lineups even ahead of Aiyuk.
The Vikings offense, or Justin Jefferson rather, still looks functional with Sam Darnold at the helm and I still project Darnold to be a solid QB2 in superflex going forward. The biggest disappointment from this offense is that Jordan Addison is trending toward being out, making Jalen Nailor a low-flex option in deeper leagues.

He's a must-start regardless of floor and you're accepting the variance either way. The tape shows even more meat on the bone, particularly connecting with rookie Adonai Mitchell. The biggest concern is what to expect out of Jonathan Taylor, but I suspect that a tough matchup against Houston had much to do with that. This offense reminds me of last year's Ravens because they both had new pieces that needed to gel in a new system. This team is a fun show that we need to sit back and enjoy with patience.
The Packers seem to be in a hurry to force Jordan Love to play with a favorable matchup, but I would start a pass catcher outside of Jayden Reed who gets manufactured touches regardless of what happens until we know Love is healthy.
- Dontayvion Wicks is only viable if Christian Watson or Romeo Doubs are out.
- Emanuel Wilson should get you excited for MarShawn Lloyd's return.
- The Packers run some of the most 11 (3WR) personnel, making Luke Musgrave a backup TE.

It doesn't feel like Baker Mayfield was a fluke and he's picked up right where he left off last season after tossing four touchdowns. Now he's set up for another high-scoring game despite a 7.5 point spread. There is only one concern on this offense and that's the RB situation slowly shifting in Bucky Irving's favor.
Detroit looks like they own the NFC North and are legitimate title contenders. Don't overthink them and get excited for points every game in a juicy matchup against a soft defense. This includes Jameson Williams who seems to have finally put it all together and one of Dave Kluge's biggest risers.

The Patriots still have an elite defense and Christian Gonzalez looks like a shutdown corner. Moreover, the offense looked competent, albeit not potent, with Brisett compared to last season. This makes me think New England could pull out another shocker if Ken Walker III doesn't play. However, Rhamondre Stevenson is the only piece you can feel good about starting. I'm still starting DK Metcalf because of his freakish big-play ability, but don't panic if he has another quiet game. I am beginning to worry about Jaxon Smith-Njigba

I have given up on Deshaun Watson and so should you. The best weapon on the Browns is now out with an ankle injury, and the second-best weapon is incredibly inefficient and getting the most from garbage-time TDs. This matchup against the Jaguars is much softer, but don't get your hopes up too much.
The Jaguars look much better and could've won a game without a costly fumble from Travis Etienne. I understand we expect more from Lawrence, but it's all there on tape. Daniel Jones hasn't been good, but the Commanders' poor secondary should be an easy “Get Right Game” for Nabers. You need to play him if he's healthy with no pitch count, but the only other piece of this offense worth starting could be Devin Singletary against a butter-soft defense.
Jayden Daniels and Brian Robinson look good, but that's because they don't require a passing game to score. I'm not concerned about Daniels or Terry McLaurin as talents, but it's like the NFL forgot that Kliff Kingsbury ran a pedestrian offense with another athletic QB named Kyler Murray. Feel good about Daniels and Robinson, but if McLaurin can't earn quality targets against the Giants then we need to panic.

This doesn't entirely concern me since it was the first game against the 49ers, but it's hard to say the Jets looked good. Furthermore, the defense looked poor which is HC Robert Saleh's specialty, and D.J. Reed and Michael Carter are nursing injuries. You'll start your studs regardless against the soft Titans because that team looks worse. I don't feel comfortable starting Levis unless I have to untill it turns around.

We shouldn't panic about Marvin Harrison Jr. after one game. I also wouldn't take Kyler Murray's statement out of context as some headlines would make you believe.
