Contracts can be a good source of dynasty information, including for injury and performance security. Below are the eight veteran wide receiver contracts to watch in the next year that have dynasty implications.

Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, and Brandon Aiyuk all had their fifth-year option picked up, representing four of the six wide receivers in the first round of the 2020 receiver class to have those options picked up. All are slated to be free agents after the 2024 season and could be in line for extensions before then. Henry Ruggs (criminal conviction) and Jalen Reagor (poor play) are no longer on the fantasy football spectrum.
Michael Pittman Jr, Indianapolis
A revolving door of quarterbacks has hurt Michael Pittman throughout his time in Indianapolis. In his first two seasons with the Colts, Pittman had an average depth of targets (aDOT) of 8.4 and 9.8 before he plummeted to only 6.9 yards in 2022. His involvement in the offense so close to the line of scrimmage led to a career-high in targets (141) but left him as a low-ceiling player. With a better offensive line, Pittman will hope for good usage by new head coach Shane Steichen and improved quarterback play from Anthony Richardson. Pittman’s market will be interesting because there are questions about whether he is a true WR1 or better cast as a WR2 in an offense. Pittman could be a candidate for an extension, but otherwise, improved efficiency will be critical for Pittman as he heads into a contract year.
Tee Higgins, Cincinnati
Tee Higgins has been the subject of offseason trade rumors as he heads into the final year of his rookie contract. Higgins has been a productive second-round draft pick for Cincinnati, but there is a real question of whether Cincinnati can pay top-of-the-market contracts to both Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase and still build an effective roster while also paying Higgins 20+ million dollars a year. Cincinnati can use the franchise tag on Higgins in 2024, giving them flexibility through the season. The free agency decision will be interesting for Higgins. If he stays in Cincinnati, he will have a volume capped by Chase’s WR1 role in a Joe Burrow-led offense. However, if he leaves Cincinnati, Higgins could see expanded volume as a WR1 in an offense but with a worse quarterback than Burrow.
Marquise Brown, Arizona
Marquise Brown was traded to Arizona for a first-round pick in 2022 and will play the 2023 season on his fifth-year option. This is an interesting year for Brown because the trade was made by the prior front office and Kyler Murray’s status for the 2023 season is uncertain. Brown should benefit from the recent DeAndre Hopkins release.
Gabe Davis, Buffalo
Gabe Davis is in the final year of his rookie contract and has been a much-debated dynasty player. On one hand, 2022 was a career year with 48 receptions, 836 receiving yards, and 7 touchdowns on 93 targets, all career highs. Davis became a strawman argument throughout much of the 2022 offseason, and while he was not the high-end WR2 that some hoped for, he finished WR35 in total points. Davis’s production was WR38 in points per game (11.6), right behind DJ Moore (11.7), and in line with his dynasty valuation. Davis still has the opportunity to be the WR2 in Buffalo and take another step in his career trajectory leading up to his free agency.
