Quarterback
Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis (vs New Orleans)
Minshew has at least not been a disaster in his three starts this season, and in his last game vs. the seemingly tough Browns defense, he was a week winner, accounting for four scores (and four turnovers). When you start Minshew, you’ll benefit from Shane Steichen’s playcalling against a Saints defense that has given up multiple passing touchdowns to C.J. Stroud and Baker Mayfield in the last four games.
Mac Jones, New England (at Miami)
Jones is coming off of a great game against the Bills, and he’s facing a Miami defense with two corners that are less than 100%. It seems like the Patriots have figured out that Kendrick Bourne and Demario Douglas are their two best receivers, and Rhamondre Stevenson was heavily involved as a receiver last week. Jones was actually a solid play against Miami in Week 2, with 231 passing yards, one score, one interception, and 25 rushing yards.
Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh (vs Jacksonville)
Pickett and the Steelers pass offense looked a lot more functional coming out of the bye with Diontae Johnson back than they did at any point earlier this season. Hopefully, Johnson sitting with a hamstring issue on Thursday isn’t a sign that he had a setback. They’ll return home to face a Jaguars pass defense that has allowed three straight 300-yard games and at least one passing touchdown in every game this year.
