OVERVIEW
NFL Showdown can be a fickle beast. These contests do not rely on median projections so much as leverage, and uniqueness. Fading the highest-owned plays can be a risky proposition. Typically, your edge is going to come by identifying the best low-rostered plays and finding clever ways to pair them with the juggernauts of the slate.
This article is going to have a heavy DraftKings lean simply because the decision-making process is more interesting given the salary premium attached to the Captain spot. FanDuel's pricing is the same for both MVP and Flex spots. You are usually going to need the slate's top scorer at MVP, so FanDuel's strategy revolves around unique Flex builds.
Advice in this article will pertain predominantly to tournament lineups and strategy. For cash lineups, build around median projections. For head-to-head contests, continue to lean into the median projections, but if two options project closely, give the nod to the lowest rostered player.
GAME THEORY
The New York Giants are heading to Buffalo to take on the Bills as 15-point underdogs. Daniel Jones has been ruled out, but we won't be getting a discount on Tyrod Taylor. Saquon Barkley is expected to return, but his price makes him difficult to get excited about. If being two-touchdown underdogs wasn't enough to detract from stacking the Giants, their prices will. The field will be heavily stacking the Bills so it will be especially important to find unique pairings.

GIANTS OFFENSE
QUARTERBACK
Tyrod Taylor $9,400 - Flex
Taylor has not seen a full game of action since 2021 with the Houston Texans. He will have a tough time finding success with a below-average receiving corps. He would be more enticing if he were given the $6,000 backup pricing, but because Jones was declared out early, he's got a starter's price tag.
