Welcome to week 16 of last-minute moves to make. This article is intended to give you late-week waiver and free-agent advice based on late-week news and gameday inactives. Injuries and other late-week developments can have a huge impact on lines and rosters, and being up-to-date on these, especially before waivers and free agency locks before kickoff, is a huge advantage.
Stash for Monday
Josh Jacobs was a limited participant on Friday before not practicing on Saturday. Jacobs should be in lineups if he plays, but his status is a major question for a Monday afternoon game. Fortunately, there are options for teams with Jacobs. Ameer Abdullah is a natural hedge, especially in a game where Las Vegas is a double-digit underdog. If Jacobs misses time, Zamir White should be the rushing-centric portion of a committee, with Abdullah playing the receiving role in the offense. If Jacobs goes, he is in your lineup, with Abdullah a break glass option with availability on waiver wires. Justice Hill is also a stash opportunity, and bench options like Gus Edwards are pivot options on Monday.
Hoard the RBs
If you are still alive, congratulations on weathering the gauntlet. In a stretch run of the season filled with injuries and illness, make sure your waiver wires are scrubbed for injury-away players. This is extremely important at running back, where a lone spot start can significantly impact the league title.
Recent news items to capitalize on include, with Zach Moss out with a wrist injury, make sure Trey Sermon is stashed in the event of a Jonathan Taylor injury. Jordan Mason also warrants a stash with Elijah Mitchell questionable from his knee injury.
In addition to those players, look to the waiver wire one last time before kickoff to monitor if anyone who is an injury away from a spot running back start has been cut.
Defenses
If you are streaming defenses, look a week ahead. Good options include Indianapolis (playing Vegas at home), Jacksonville (playing Carolina at home), and Houston (playing Tennessee at home).
Good luck this week and have a Merry Christmas and happy holiday. I hope you enjoyed this series of articles this year. If you want to follow along in the offseason, follow me @mcnamaradynasty
