Welcome to week 13 of last-minute moves to make. This article is intended to give you late-week waiver and free-agent advice based on late-week news and gameday inactives. Injuries and other late-week developments can have a huge impact on lines and rosters, and being up-to-date on these, especially before waivers and free agency locks before kickoff, is a huge advantage.
Stash Trey Sermon
Jonathan Taylor’s thumb injury elevated Zach Moss to the RB1 role in the offense. Moss was the RB4 in weeks 2 through 4, scoring 16.7 points per game when he played in place of Jonathan Taylor who was on the PUP list. Moss is naturally the hot pickup of the week, but it is Trey Sermon who makes the last-minute move of the week. Sermon disappointed after being a third-round pick in the 2021 draft, before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles and then landing on the Colts' practice squad after he was waived by the Eagles in 2023. The Colts are a top 10 team in expected running back points per game, which is a role Sermon could fill in the event of a Moss injury.
Stash Backup Quarterbacks
If you are playing in quarterback premium formats or in a format where quarterbacks are not plentiful on the waiver wire, begin planning ahead. Prioritize the quarterbacks with a history of production, draft pedigree, and a strong offense. These include Jameis Winston, Mike White, Tyler Huntley, Cooper Rush, Jacoby Brissett, and Teddy Bridgewater.
