Congratulations, we made it past the halfway point of the NFL season...barely. Injuries and setbacks have been disastrous so far. It is for this reason that I find streaming articles to be so important to fantasy football success. To be able to find deep options at the positions that you have just been ravished at is key to continuing fantasy football success. The key to streaming is to find the best matchups and exploit them. Here are the top IDL and Edge streaming matchups for Week 10.
IDL and Edge Streaming Options
EDGE Boye Mafe, Seattle Seahawks
Matchup: Washington Commanders - Ranked 29th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
At this point in the season, Mafe should be in your weekly lineups, but he still is not receiving the attention he deserves. Mafe has been on an absolute tear recently, coming up with a sack in six straight games. He has always been a great run defender, but his pass-rushing ability has truly put him over the top to a high-end Edge2 this season. Speaking of Mafe's run defense, he has 17 tackles over his past three games to add to that pass-rushing success.
Mafe has also seen a healthy snap share, playing 635 of the team's defensive snaps. He has a wonderful matchup against the Washington Commanders, one we have exploited all season. They have had a horrendous time protecting Sam Howell (44 sacks allowed) and are top-five in the league in pass attempts. Mafe should not have an issue extending his sack streak to seven games.
EDGE Dorance Armstrong, Dallas Cowboys
Matchup: New York Giants - Ranked 22nd in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Armstrong had a big year in the pass-rush department in 2022. He has taken a bit of a step back in 2023 in that regard but has played much better over the past three games. Armstrong has nine tackles and one-and-a-half sacks over that span, with a 45.67% snap share. He takes on a division rival, and a bad one at that.
Armstrong plays the Giants, who are now missing their top two options at quarterback, likely starting Tommy Devito. To make matters worse, the Giants' pass protection this year has been nonexistent. They have allowed 49 sacks on the season, easily the worst in the NFL. Any time that a team plays the Giants, you should start a player on that defensive line...enough said.
IDL Osa Odighizuwa, Dallas Cowboys
Matchup: New York Giants - Ranked 22nd in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
Speaking of playing any defensive linemen against the Giants, here is another one. Odighizuwa had a mini breakout year in 2022 and has continued to evolve his game in 2023. He showed some nice interior pass-rushing upside in 2022, which has continued to 2023. Over the past four games, he has had 16 pressures, six of them in Week 6. Where he has improved the most is in his run defense. Odighizuwa averages just under 3.5 tackles per game and has improved his run-defense grade from 58.6 in 2022 to 77.2 in 2023, per PFF.
As mentioned earlier, the Giants' offensive line has been terrible. This Cowboys pass rush, one of the best in the league, will feast on Sunday.
IDL Leonard Williams, Seattle Seahawks
Matchup: Washington Commanders - Ranked 29th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings
The Commanders and the Giants are the two teams that you should be looking to stream against. They have allowed 49 and 44 sacks collectively on the season. The next closest team is the Jets, who have allowed 31. The Seahawks spent a 2nd- and 4th-round pick to acquire Leonard Williams from the Giants and wasted little time getting him in their lineup. Williams played 54% of the team's snaps during his first week with the Seahawks.
Williams has played the Commanders plenty during his time with the Giants and now is part of a strong interior defense with his DE running mate DreMont Jones. Williams will prove his worth this week.
