Sunday Morning Update
Update #1:
Jerome Ford will be a game-time decision, which ultimately removes any chance that we can play Kareem Hunt.
Michael Thomas was added to the injury report with an illness yesterday. He's questionable to play this week. If he were to miss, Alvin Kamara would likely be the beneficiary, but with his price at $8,300, it is too high for cash games this week.
I fully expect Lamar Jackson to be 50-60% rostered similar to what he was last week. However, this is a great spot for Hurts this week. I have him projected for 0.5 more fantasy points, but feel he has a higher floor than Jackson.
No change to the cash game lineup as of now, we'll post back at 11AM EST if anything changes.
- QB Jalen Hurts, PHI, $9,200
- RB Breece Hall, NYJ, $7,200
- RB Tony Pollard, DAL, $7,600
- WR Jordan Addison, MIN, $7,300
- WR Zay Flowers, BAL, $6,500
- WR Tank Dell, HOU, $6,000
- TE Jake Ferguson, DAL, $4,900
- Flex RB Isiah Pacheco, KC, $7,400
- TD Atlanta Falcons, $3,900
SITUATIONS THAT STAND OUT TO THIS WEEK ON THE MAIN SLATE.
- Miami (vs NE) – 28.25 points
- Kansas City (at DEN) – 27.5 points
- Baltimore (at ARI) – 26.0 points
- Dallas (vs LAR) – 25.75 points
- San Francisco (vs CIN) – 25.25 points
- Philadelphia (at WAS) – 25.0 points
Week 7 Recap
Last week started off amazingly well as Jerome Ford’s 69-yard touchdown within the first few minutes of the slate made it seem as if this would just be another cruising victory. However, after that touchdown, it was seemingly all downhill from there. This was a week in which nothing went right. It was a weird week, as it was heavy chalk which is what we feared going into the week as in a lot of the 50/50’s that I track there were 20+ lineups that were the exact same. The big problem is that there were 9 players who were 50% rostered or higher last week, which is the highest that we can remember doing this article as that is a full roster of players over 50%.
Total points scored- 115.58
- QB Lamar Jackson, BAL, $8,000- 33.88
- RB Jerome Ford, CLE, $6,600- 16.4
- RB Jahmyr Gibbs, DET, $6,200- 23.1
- WR Cooper Kupp, LAR, $9,700- 5.9
- WR Amari Cooper, CLE, $6,800- 3.2
- WR Zay Flowers, BAL, $6,300- 9.5
- TE Luke Musgrave, GB, $5,000- 5.0
- Flex RB Josh Jacobs, LV, $8,000- 23.1
- TD New York Giants, $3,400- 14.0
What went right:
- Lamar Jackson was the right play at quarterback. While I debated Matthew Stafford, Jackson was dominant putting up 33.88 points.
- The year of picking defenses correctly continues, as, for the third straight week, a cheap defense puts up over 10 points for us as the Giants dominated the Commanders. The problem was everyone was on the Giants as they were 75% rostered.
What went wrong:
- I’ve never been more wrong about something in DFS than I was last week about Puka Nacua. Just a disaster situation as we went heavy on Cooper Kupp expecting him to continue to build off of his first two games where he was the dominant receiver. It seems that this is going to be an offense that is going to try to incorporate both players, which is going to at least for the time being make this an offense that is going to be frustrating to try to manage.
- The Browns put up 38 points, but neither Jerome Ford nor Amari Cooper were all that great besides Jerome Ford’s long touchdown. Ford left with an ankle injury in the second half but had 10 carries for 5 yards the rest of the game. Cooper surprisingly did not see a target in the first half of this game and while he ended with eight targets, he caught just two of those as most were desperation throws as the team mounted their comeback.
Injuries Create Opportunity:
Week 8 could be another week where we end up seeing very similar lineups, as there are a lot of starting quarterbacks out which ultimately will just force people to avoid those teams altogether. There are almost no injuries at wide receiver and tight end, which also makes the value plays difficult this week.
