Jonathan Taylor (RB-IND) - Taylor had a four-week break at the beginning of the season, and the team has finally ramped him up to clear lead-back status, including in the passing game, where he had five receptions and a score last week, even though Gardner Minshew only threw the ball 26 times. There's a reasonable argument that Taylor is a top-three running back going forward, and it's possible that he'll be on the block if his team is in a must-win situation during his Week 11 bye - which should make him even more primed to hit his stride down the stretch when you need him the most.
Derek Carr (QB-NO) - Carr has thrown for two scores in each of the last two weeks and over 300 yards in three of the last four weeks. He's also piloting a Saints offense that is healthy going into their bye next week, and he will only play one outdoor game from here on out - Week 17 in Tampa against the vulnerable Bucs pass defense. Carr is an ideal high QB2/Superflex, and he should be excellent bye/injury/emergency depth.
Jahmyr Gibbs (RB-DET) - The bye week helped us open a window to make an offer for Gibbs in two ways: David Montgomery will be back to reduce the rookie's role, and the hype of his Week 8 breakout is already a distant memory. This team plays all but one remaining game on indoor turf, which should increase the value of Gibbs' speed in an offense that should be able to get him matched up with slower and less agile players in the passing game.
Brock Purdy (QB-SF) - Purdy actually had a strong fantasy game in the loss to the Bengals before the bye, even racking up 57 yards as a runner, so he shouldn't be available for pennies on the dollar. Still, if you need quarterback help, he should be available nonetheless. Most of his poor play in Week 7 came after the play when he suffered a concussion, and he'll be getting Deebo Samuel and, more importantly, left tackle Trent Williams back this week. This offense faces a lot of poor pass defenses (Tampa, Philadelphia, Arizona, Washington, Seattle x2) in the second half of the season, so Purdy is primed for liftoff.
