Welcome to Week 10 of the 2022 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. Topics are now split into separate features.
This week's roundtable features these four topics:
- Rebound or Refried? (see below)
- Go Big Or Go Home?
- Faith Or Fear?
- Playoff Prep
Rebound or ReFried?
Matt Waldman: Pick one quarterback from the list below with a productive Week 10 that you think has the best chance to be on the verge of a late-season run and one where you think that his season is fried and it's about to go back to the fryer after a one-week reprieve.
Whose game is making a run? Whose game is getting put on a bun with a pickle and some hot sauce?
Sean Settle: Rodgers is the only quarterback on this list with what it takes to rebound as a low-end QB1 for the rest of the season. The comeback win against Dallas last week showed what happens when his receivers catch the deep balls down the field, and he has some of the most favorable matchups for the rest of the season. The Titans, Dolphins, and Vikings' secondaries are allowing points at an alarming rate despite overall team records. It has been a rollercoaster for the Packers so far this season, but Rodgers has the pedigree and just enough weapons to turn things around for the rest of the season.
Jason Wood: Tannehill's goose is still cooked. The receiving corps is unappealing, and the Titans have one of the hardest remaining schedules in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. It's hard not to choose Rodgers from this list; the other three are immensely unappealing. Rodgers has a favorable schedule down the stretch and seems to have found his footing with Christian Watson.
Chad Parsons: Rodgers has been one of the fantasy disappointments through the first half of the season, but with essentially playoff games every week now, Rodgers has a vertical threat and (ideally) a healthy Romeo Doubs back soon to supplement the short and intermediate areas.
I have zero (...is negative an option?) faith in Kenny Pickett. Not a runner and off to a horrific career start with the passing data points I track for job security and performance. With Watson healthy (hopefully), a new ceiling and big-play ability are unlocked for the Packers' offense.
Settle: Things looked a little better in Pittsburgh last week. Pickett protected the ball, and Najee Harris found some running lanes. That is not something we can expect to continue for the rest of the season. Trading Chase Claypool showed that Pittsburgh is looking to build for the future rather than compete right now. They will look to upgrade his weapons for next year but will see little return this season. Pickett has struggled mightily this season, and that is unlikely to change without more help from those around him. He may have a bright future, but his immediate situation should be avoided.
