Welcome to Week 13 of the 2022 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. Topics are now split into separate features.
This week's roundtable features these four topics:
- Week 13 Replacements Candidates
- Jets Fantasy Prospects
- One-Year Wonders
- December Darlings
Week 13 Replacements Candidates
Matt Waldman: I write a piece called the Replacements that focuses on players who are usually well below the radar for most waiver wire formats but could provide you at least a modicum of production with a puncher's chance of starter output short-term if they make good on their opportunity. Recent alumni who've hit include the likes of Foster Moreau, Dontrell Hilliard, Khalil Herbert, and DeSean Jackson.
Nominate 1-2 players you believe could emerge as a flex-play this weekend.
Stipulations: the player must not have delivered fantasy value for more than 1-2 games this year and they should be players who've been considered backups until recent weeks (the past 2-3, at most).
Phil Alexander: If you're desperate for a flex play, look to games with high Vegas totals and target tertiary wide receivers you know will at least be on the field. Two players who fit the bill this week:
D.J. Chark - In his second game back from injury, Chark's snap rate jumped from 16% to 73%. His five targets against Buffalo were in line with the six per game he averaged over the first three games of the season when he was healthiest. Vegas is projecting a close, high-scoring contest between Detroit and Jacksonville (Jaguars -1.5, o/u 51.5).
