Much of fantasy football's in-season team strategy centers around which players to pick up from the waiver wire or to target in the trade market. However, roster spots are a premium (and finite) resource. Cutting a player - or adding them to a trade - opens a roster spot for a key waiver wire addition or the flexibility to keep a currently injured player through a missed game or two.
This is the final installment of the 2022 Cutting the Cord series. Here are the key players of whom to be skeptical over the final three weeks of the fantasy season. Thanks for reading and good luck in the playoffs!

QUARTERBACKS
*Ordered Shallow to Deep*
QB Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
Why: The Dolphins are reeling after their offense has looked stoppable in consecutive weeks, and Tyreek Hill is now on the mend with an ankle injury. Tagovailoa offers minimal rushing upside, with 63 yards on the season, averaging a meager 2.9 yards per carry. The Bills, Packers, and Patriots offer three stingy matchups in the fantasy playoffs as well.
QB Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans
Why: Tannehill has just 13 passing touchdowns over 11 games this season and is missing Treylon Burks at present. Tannehill's rushing upside is eroding as well, averaging fewer than 10 yards per game on the ground.
QB Baker Mayfield, Los Angeles Rams
Why: One of the most difficult closing schedules in the NFL, specifically with the Packers and Broncos in Weeks 15-16. Mayfield finished strong in Week 14, but without Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson, repeating with quality play will be a challenge combined with the schedule.
