The appeal of playing dynasty fantasy football is that you never fully stop building your rosters. There is always time to make moves to either help build a contender or rebuild your struggling roster. Now that the 2022 class has come and gone, it's time to start looking ahead to the 2023 class. This season, we will provide fantasy managers with a top-36 big board that will be updated weekly to reflect the top 36 draft-eligible players in college football. The hope is that this big board will give you actual names and value to any draft pick you are trying to trade or acquire.
Standout Performances
WR Joshua Downs (Jr – North Carolina): 5-foot-10, 180 lbs
Downs continues to have a great season in 2022. He has 63 receptions for 693 yards and eight touchdowns this year, playing alongside Drake Maye, who should be on everyone’s shortlist for Heisman. Downs had fifteen receptions last week for 166 yards and a touchdown and showed scouts why he’s one of the most underrated prospects at the position. Downs has proven to be one of the best route runners in the class and has consistently shown he knows how to use leverage to get open despite his size. He has multiple catches in 50/50 situations and tracks the ball well. Downs is currently my WR5 in the 2023 class and has a shot to be drafted in the first round of the NFL draft.
RB Devon Achane (Jr – Texas A&M): 5-foot-9, 185 lbs
Achane will be the most polarizing candidate in the draft cycle this season. Achane has rushed for 887 yards and six touchdowns, averaging just over five yards a carry. Achane has also proven to be a threat as a receiver, with 36 receptions for 196 yards and three touchdowns. He is one of the fastest players in college football; the critical question will be, can he overcome the size concerns? We have seen past running backs of his size, and they do not earn the draft capital needed to be fantasy relevant. We know Achane is an incredible athlete, but the question will remain about his size. Outside of that, he’s been a phenomenal football player this season for the Aggies and has been their lone bright spot on the year. He deserves to be on this list due to his athleticism and speed, but there are questions about his long-term outlook in fantasy. Regardless he’s had a great season and deserves recognition.
WR A.T. Perry (Jr - Wake Forest): 6-foot-5, 205 lbs
For the first time this season, we highlight Wake Forest receiver A.T. Perry. Wake Forest has had a disappointing season, but Perry has been a bright spot this year. He has 47 receptions for 711 yards and six touchdowns. This last weekend against North Carolina State, Perry had his best game of the season, having 12 receptions for 159 yards and a touchdown. As a prospect, Perry has one of the biggest catch radiuses in his class. His athleticism also allows him to adjust when the ball is in the air, a skill that will translate to the next level. He’s an older prospect but will be drafted. His landing spot will be the key factor to his fantasy relevancy.
2023 Draft Pick Values
With the NFL season halfway finished, dynasty leagues are becoming increasingly active, which means more trades are undoubtedly occurring. The whole point of this big board each week is to help you identify where the talent in the current class is and start identifying target areas and tiers to trade for. It’s also important to understand market values and what 2023 picks cost in the dynasty market. One area that you can exploit right now if you are looking to acquire picks is by shipping off your middle-tier running backs. Managers are desperate to find production out of their running back spot, and now is the best time to exploit their weaknesses. Below you will find players who are currently being moved for 2023 first-round picks.
