Buy High
Josh Jacobs (RB-LV)
Jacobs is a good buy in dynasty and redraft alike, as the Raiders should be much more likely to lean on him after he keyed their first win of the season, and they also might have underestimated his value when they turned down his modestly priced fifth-year option, giving the 24-year-old Jacobs some legs in dynasty leagues too. He was falling too far in redraft leagues, but the conventional wisdom might not be corrected to his actual value since we’ve only seen him shine for one week out of four.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB-KC)
Everyone is looking to sell Edwards-Helaire because he’s a top-five running back in PPR leagues, even though his opportunity/usage is more like a back who is a flex play. What is being left out here is that the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes II trust him in high-leverage situations, and he keeps on converting in an offense that will have lots of trips to the red zone. If you can get him for a low RB2 price from someone looking to sell “high”, it’s worth it.
Sell High
Lamar Jackson (QB-BAL)
Jackson isn’t a sell-for-a-discount play, but in redraft leagues, if you can manage a lateral move to Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts without having to add a significant sweetener, you might consider it. The harsh reality is that the Ravens are putting basically the whole offense on Jackson’s shoulders, and since they haven’t signed him long-term yet, they have less incentive to protect him from himself because Jackson won’t back down from defenses, even when he is at a disadvantage. His injury risk remains high.
