WEEK 18 PLAYS
Josh Allen Over 299.5 Passing Yards-
The Colts secondary has fallen on hard times as of late. Rock Ya-Sin will miss this week with a concussion which should only help Josh Allen in this one. The Colts have allowed 300+ passing yards in four of their last five games and the only quarterback to not top it was Mike Glennon last week who had 260 yards passing. Allen has been outstanding this season as he has topped 300 yards 8 times on the year as he has an MVP caliber season. Expect John Brown and Stefon Diggs will be a problem for the Colts secondary this week.
Russell Wilson Under 254.5 Passing Yards-
At this point what left is there to say about Russell Wilson’s second half of the season. After thinking it would turn around last week, it was more of the same from Wilson as he completed just 55% of his passes and threw for just 181 yards. Now Wilson faces a Rams team that have the best secondary in football as Jalen Ramsey is expected to lock down DK Metcalf this week. This season, Wilson has just 225 yards and 248 yards passing against the Rams. This is a quarterback who is averaging just 207 passing yards since Week 9.
Baker Mayfield Under 235.5 Passing Yards-
Baker Mayfield is great against poor defenses, but horrendous against strong defenses. That sort of just who he is at this point. He struggles tremendously when under pressure as he doesn’t trust his reads and makes bad decisions. Now, Cleveland will possibly be without their two best offensive linemen as Joel Bitonio has been ruled out with Covid-19, and Jack Conklin missed Friday’s practice due to illness. Kevin Stefanski will also not be coaching the Browns which this game just has the making of an absolute disaster for Cleveland. Last week, in a must win game, Mayfield threw for just 196 yards when Pittsburgh did not have Cameron Heyward, T.J. Watt, Joe Haden, and Mike Hilton largely didn’t play. It seems unlikely that Mayfield will turn it around this week.
Michael Thomas Over 69.5 Receiving Yards
Alvin Kamara is going to play, but he has not practiced all week and has not been in the facility due to Covid. The good news for the Saints is that they get Michael Thomas back this week after missing the prior three games with an ankle injury. Thomas who has had a disappointing season, was trending in the right direction in his two games prior to injury as he had 189 yards in those two games. Thomas is going to have a significant size advantage over whoever on Chicago attempts to cover them as their biggest corner is Kyle Fuller who is 5’11’’ 190 while Thomas comes in at 6’3 210 pounds.
James Conner Over 46.5 Rushing Yards
The Steelers tried to get a spark by going to Benny Snell and outside of a game against the Bengals largely hasn’t panned out. Conner continues to produce even though he is a low volume running back as he has just 9 carries in each of the last two weeks. The good news here however is that he saw 9 carries in a game that was a tune up for the Steelers as they tried to rest their starters. In a normal game, Conner likely would have had 12-15 carries which is encouraging heading into this game. Conner has had a lot of success against this Browns team as he topped 100 yards earlier this season against them. Expect the Steelers to go back to their old ways and establish the run early on to setup the pass making life easier for the passing game that has struggled for a large part of the second half of this season.
