Hi Folks,
We do a ton of insightful, thoughtful, and serious features here at Footballguys with smart people thinking deeply for you.
This is not one of those features.
This is Random Shots and it's a few pages of me downloading my goofy and dysfunctional mental hard drive that gets stuffed with way too many random items from too many hours watching, reading about, and listening to football every weekend and throughout the week. It's the only way I manage. Here's hoping it has some value for you.
We'll see. Now let's get to it.

I sometimes feel I've made a questionable career decision...
He got in there eventually, but this was Gardner Minshew on the sidelines Sunday...
They don't happen all that much because they don't lose very much but the awkward silences in a Belichick presser can be tough.
The only thing more predictable after a Patriots loss than the awkward presser are the "Brady is done" posts...
Although let's not pretend America doesn't love this...
For years, we've felt bad for the poor Peloton bike owners who spent all that money on a bike that won't go anywhere and now they can't afford curtains for the windows.
This year, Peloton went next level with their ads as we're treated to the 110-pound woman and her twelve-month transformation into a 108-pound woman. Incredible.
I know we're not supposed to care about stats. But let's be real, sometimes we care about stats...
As if Baker Mayfield 24/7 wasn't enough, now we get Mrs. Mayfield.
"Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield's wife Emily Mayfield was not too happy about a question a reporter asked her husband on Sunday, and took to social media to express her frustration. The Browns lost to their divisional opponent Pittsburgh Steelers in a game that ended following a late Baker Mayfield interception. The 20-13 loss at Heinz Field put the Browns at a very concerning 5-7 on the season.
"Before the game, Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens was seen on social media wearing a shirt that read, "Pittsburgh Started It," a not-so-subtle reference to what occurred the last time these teams met.
"Cleveland.com Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot asked Kitchens about the shirt after the game, and Emily Mayfield did not approve of the question.
"Why is this the focus of your questions? 🤔 MUCH more to focus on than that.... @MaryKayCabot," Emily Mayfield wrote on Twitter.
"Cabot responded to the criticism and defended her question.
"I asked exactly one t-shirt question after the game," she wrote. "I asked Baker what he thought of it, and he defended Kitchens, which I thought was pretty cool. He gave a great answer, saying 'I've done much worse.' Funny, and struck the right note."
The Dolphins haven't had too much to be happy about this year. I'm not a fan of laughing at the other side but I get it here.
Derrick Henry is a problem.
Thanks to Footballguy David Dodds for that one.
There's not much that Bad Lip Reading can't make better.
I love seeing the young guys move up and respect the old guys.
Oh, Chargers.
Mike Tomlin, Coach Of The Year.
We told you about the Cat Curse.
Cincinnati ended it Sunday with a win over the Jets.
And this guy comes down from the roof.
This one hurts.
Dang, Cleveland.
Hat Tip: Memes Of The NFL.
This is just mean.
Hat Tip: Memes Of The NFL.
This didn't have a zillion retweets so I'm assuming people aren't doing as they're told.
I'm not saying she's wrong...
Hat Tip: Memes Of The NFL.
Is Taysom Hill the most impactful non-starter in the league?
I'm not going to lie. This got me too.
Thanks to Footballguy Daniel Simpkins for that one.
No Win November
You haven't experienced the Matt Ryan stiff-arm until you've heard the German version.
I like this from Cole Beasley. Especially after a win.
Auburn was a 3 1/2 point underdog and barely won Saturday after giving up 45 points to the #5 team in the country with their backup quarterback.
And stormed the field.
Plus this.
On the other hand, I'm going to just leave this right here...
Thanks to Emily Steen for that one.
On that note...
Worse, two of the first three comments to Gantt's post thought he was serious...
As a society, "We're in a tight spot, Boys"
This week's Music Note.
South for Winter is a sweet trio from Nashville. They kill it here with "Devil Is A Call'n."
They played a concert at my barn this spring and crushed it there too.
If I ran the Falcons, two things I'd do:
1. Trade for Jermaine Carter.
2. Go with the Onside Kick every time.
Thanks to Footballguy Clayton Gray for that one.
I know he does it every week. But I still love the Aaron Jones sombrero.
Thanks to Footballguy Clayton Gray for that one.
Questionable parenting.
May you be as smooth as Benny Snell one day...
Thanks to Footballguy Ryan Hester for that one.
There's that Odell Beckham we're used to...
These guys make a lot of money.
These guys earn a lot of money.
Live look in on the Eagles and Cowboys and the NFC East...
The Colts mascot is ironically named "Blue".
That's how he was feeling Sunday.
I'm completely in favor of protecting the quarterback. They're the key to what makes a good game.
With that said, I'm not exactly sure how a defender is supposed to play in 2019...
Boom.
Thank you for the avalanche of so very kind notes regarding my Mom and this being my first Thanksgiving without her. I did my best to honor her making her Sweet Potato Casserole. Along with all the other good stuff my family brought, I'm calling this a win. Bonus points for my wife's Grandmother's special china.
I can't imagine the Steelers can go very far with all these injuries. But this team is fun.
God Bless True Fans.
Derrius Guice is kind of ridiculous.
And has been for a while...
Some pictures are worth a thousand words. This one is worth a couple hundred million dollars...
On that note.
The Eagles defense gave up 37 points and it's Carson Wentz' fault...
The longer Ryan Fitzpatrick plays, the goofier this is going to be.
Evidently, the folks on Park Avenue finally got the word.
Steelers running back James Conner might not have played Sunday. But he contributed.
Part of the fun with the Miami trick play touchdown is these often don't work.
I love this. A guy who's made it encouraging a guy just getting started.
I firmly believe there's a special spot in Heaven for Chargers fans.
And Philip Rivers will be leading the way.
The talk Sunday evening was all about Kyle Allen missing the open receiver.
If I were an NFL owner, I'd never put my team in uniforms all the same color as the endzone. For reasons like this.
Why do I think about stuff like this?
Aaron Donald, you're kind of ridiculous too.
Hindsight is sweet.
Here's what you need to know about the NFC East. The 3-9 Redskins can still make the playoffs.
Hat Tip: Axios.
Wrapping with this one.
If you're a regular reader, I hope it's no surprise Fred Rogers is one of my heroes. If you're looking for a movie, I highly recommend "A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood".
Spoiler alert, Mr. Rogers isn't the main character. It's about Tom Junod, a writer for Esquire who years ago wrote a classic article on Rogers. If you haven't read the article yet, see the movie first. Then read the article.
It's a great story about redemption and reconciliation and also about Fred Rogers and the man he was.
Rock on, Mr. Rogers.
Thanks to Footballguys Keith Overton, Clayton Gray, David Dodds, Ryan Hester and Daniel Simpkins for the help on this one. If you've got a Random Shot of your own, send me an e-mail at bryant@footballguys.com.
Thanks for playing along and I hope you make the most of whatever you're doing in your life. Love your neighbor and stick together.
Peace and Grace to you.
