TOP STACK
Carolina Panthers – QB Cam Newton ($6,900) and TE Greg Olsen ($4,900)
It is hard stacking against the Seahawks defense, but when you look deep into the numbers it isn’t as challenging as it first appears. First, Cam Newton has arguably been the best quarterback all season for daily fantasy purposes and is the third highest priced quarterback this week. His rushing ability along with his passing ability is perfect for the GPP format and there are plenty of people who are going to be scared away based on the Panthers playing the Seahawks. The Seahawks have allowed the seventh most passing yards to the tight end position, and in the previous meeting allowed Olsen to have seven receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown. If Ted Ginn Jr is out, it limits the upside of Olsen due to a lack of deep threat, so be sure to see if there is any news on Ginn, but if Ginn plays Olsen is a terrific play at the tight end position.
VALUE STACKS
Denver Broncos – QB Peyton Manning ($6,300) and WR Demaryius Thomas ($5,250)
Peyton Manning is the great unknown on this slate, as he is in a great matchup against the Steelers. On the season, Pittsburgh is allowing 271 yards passing per game which is the second most in the NFL this season. The challenge is which quarterback is going to show up this week is it going to be the healthy Peyton Manning. This presents a great opportunity for a GPP as he will be under-owned in comparison to the other quarterbacks and presents a great value that you can pair him with one of the top options such as Cam Newton or Carson Palmer. Demaryius Thomas is playing in front of his mother who has never seen him play, and while we don’t like to bring in narratives particularly in playoff game this has to be considered as he is going to do everything in his power to score a touchdown in front of his family.
Green Bay Packers – QB Aaron Rodgers ($6,550) and WR James Jones ($4,500)
James Jones has established himself as the number one wide receiver in Green Bay as he now has three consecutive games of 10+ targets. He is the best receiver on this team as Davante Adams and Randall Cobb were disappointing this season. With this game being the highest scoring game on the slate and with Arizona having one of the best run defenses in the NFL, this will be Aaron Rodgers having to carry the Packers if they have any chance to win on the road this week in what should be a high scoring game against the Cardinals.
FADES
Now that there are only eight teams left there are no teams that we can recommend to fade as each team is in play from a GPP standpoint.
