In this weekly DraftKings article, we will list five GPP stacks along with two defensive stacks. Week 17 is similar to Preseason NFL DFS as you are playing with significantly less information and have to take into consideration risk-versus-reward for multiple scenarios. Thus, for most, it is a wise investment to avoid cash games and concentrate on GPP tournaments this week.
*Motivation is a key factor during the final week of the season. The key is to target teams and players that are still in the playoff hunt. Avoid teams that look to be “going through the motions” and show a lack of effort.
GPP STACKS
Here are some GPP stacks with multi-touchdown upside.
New England Patriots Stack versus New York Jets
QB Tom Brady $6,800 with TE Rob Gronkowski $7,000 (GPP)
Alternate/Super Stacks: RB Dion Lewis $6,800 (GPP)
Correlation Play: WR Robby Anderson $5,000 (GPP)
The Patriots are playing for home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. With Chris Hogan still working his way back from a shoulder injury, the offense has leaned on Gronkowski. Gronkowski has at least seven targets in eight of his past nine games and has flourished with 69 receptions for 1083 yards and eight touchdowns this season. When Gronkowski last played the Jets back in Week 6, he finished with six receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
Los Angeles Chargers Stack versus Oakland Raiders
QB Phillip Rivers $6,600 with WR Keenan Allen $7,800 (GPP)
Alternative/Super Stacks: TE Antonio Gates $4,200 (GPP)
Correlation Play: WR Michael Crabtree $5,800 (GPP)
The Chargers will need a victory plus help in order to make the playoffs. Melvin Gordon did not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury. If Gordon is inactive, expect the offense to flow through Rivers and the passing game.
San Francisco 49ers Stack at Los Angeles Rams
QB Jimmy Garoppolo $6,700 with WR Marquise Goodwin $6,600 (GPP)
The 49ers have found their franchise quarterback as Jimmy Garoppolo has led the team to four consecutive victories. The offense has been reinvigorated averaging 27.5 points over that span. Expect Garoppolo to keep his momentum as the Rams are likely to rest many of their key players.
Detroit Lions Stack versus Green Bay Packers
QB Matthew Stafford $6,300 with WR Marvin Jones $6,500 (GPP)
Alternative/Super Stacks: TE Eric Ebron $4,500 (GPP)
Correlation Play: RB Jamaal Williams $5,200 (GPP)
With a surprising loss to the Bengals last week, the Lions have been eliminated from playoff contention. Matthew Stafford and Marvin Jones have excelled versus the Packers in recent matchups. Stafford has averaged 364 passing yards and 2.3 touchdowns over his past three games versus the Packers. Over the span, Jones has averaged six receptions 129 receiving yards and 1.3 touchdowns.
New Orleans Saints Stack at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
QB Drew Brees $6,500 with WR Michael Thomas $7,700 (GPP)
Alternative/Super Stacks: RB Alvin Kamara $7,900 or RB Mark Ingram $7,500 (GPP)
The Saints can clinch the NFC South with a victory over the Buccaneers. This will be the most popular game to target as Vegas currently has it listed with a 50.5 game total and the next closest game is a 45.5 total. The Buccaneers are the worst ranked defense allowing a league-leading 263 passing yards per game. Michael Thomas has emerged setting career-highs in targets (141), receptions (98), and receiving yards (1151) prior to the regular season finale.
DEFENSIVE STACKS (GPP Tournaments)
Tennessee Titans Stack versus Jacksonville Jaguars
RB Derrick Henry $5,500 with Titans D/ST $2,800 (GPP)
The Titans need to win to secure a playoff spot. With DeMarco Murray expected to be inactive, Derrick Henry will be one of the most popular options to roster on DraftKings. Henry has averaged 4.6 yards per carry and will be the focal point of the Titans offense. The Jaguars will most likely rest or limit their starters as they are locked into the three seed in the AFC playoffs.
Baltimore Ravens Stack versus Cincinnati Bengals
RB Alex Collins $5,600 with Ravens D/ST $3,800 (GPP)
The Ravens can secure a playoff spot with a victory against the Bengals. Alex Collins has received at least 17 touches in each of his past six games. As a 10-point favorite, the Ravens will be able to control the clock and grind out a victory against the Bengals, who have allowed the second-most rushing yards this season.
