In this weekly DraftKings article, we will discuss two cash game stacks that should provide a high floor for your 50-50 and H2H cash game contests. These stacks are safe to use in your GPP tournaments as well, but they will most likely carry a high ownership percentage. In the second half of this article, we will review some GPP stacks along with one defensive stack.
*This article focuses on stacks from DraftKings main slate and does not include the three Thanksgiving Day Games, Sunday Night Football, or Monday Night Football. Thus, DraftKings main slate is reduced to only 11 NFL games.
$$ Cash GAME STACKS $$
Atlanta Falcons Stack versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers
QB Matt Ryan $6,400 with WR Julio Jones $7,700 (Cash/GPP)
Alternative/Super Stacks: WR Mohamed Sanu $5,200 (GPP)
Matt Ryan has started to erase his early-season struggles with multiple-touchdowns in each of his past four games. Ryan should be able to keep up his momentum against the Buccaneers, who are the second-worst pass defense allowing 276 passing yards per game. Julio Jones has been a major disappointment with only one touchdown this season. The targets are still there as Jones has averaged ten targets per game over his past three. The Falcons wide receiver is still an elite play in this matchup as we can also expect some positive touchdown regression moving forward.
Cincinnati Bengals Stack versus Cleveland Browns
QB Andy Dalton $6,000 with WR A.J. Green $8,000 (Cash/GPP)
Andy Dalton is another quarterback that has quietly improved from his early season struggles. Dalton has multiple touchdowns in four of his past five games and has a prime home matchup against the Browns. When these teams last met back in Week 4, Dalton passed for 286 yards with four touchdowns. Expect more of the same this week as the Browns have proven that they can’t stop anyone. Adriel Jeremiah (A.J.) Green will be the most popular wide receiver on DraftKings main slate. Green has had at least three receptions in every game this season except for the game against Jacksonville where he was ejected for fighting.
GPP STACKS
Here are some GPP stacks with multi-touchdown upside.
New England Patriots Stack versus Miami Dolphins
QB Tom Brady $7,700 with WR Brandin Cooks $7,100 (GPP)
Alternate/Super Stacks: TE Rob Gronkowski $6,900 (GPP)
Correlation Play: WR Jarvis Landry $6,800 (GPP) or WR Kenny Stills $4,800 (GPP)
Tom Brady continues to defy father-time. Since the start of last season, Brady has 50 passing touchdowns and only four interceptions. This is the best touchdown to interception ratio in any two season span in NFL history. Brady has multiple touchdowns in four of his past five games and is likely to pass for at least two or three touchdowns again this week. The Patriots 32.25 projected team total is the highest of the season. Chris Hogan is likely to miss another game which will lock Brandin Cooks into some additional targets. With Hogan inactive over the past two weeks, Cooks finished with 11 targets versus the Broncos and nine targets versus the Raiders.
New Orleans Saints Stack at Los Angeles Rams
QB Drew Brees $6,900 with RB Mark Ingram $8,300 (GPP) and/or RB Alvin Kamara $7,900 (GPP)
Alternative/Super Stacks: WR Michael Thomas $7,200 (GPP)
Correlation Play: RB Todd Gurley $8,800 (GPP)
The Saints/Rams will be the most popular game to stack as Vegas has set it with the highest game total (53.5 points) of the week. Some are still hesitant to play Drew Brees on the road. Many will prefer to target the Saints rushing attack. Why not stack both? Stacking Brees with Mark Ingram and/or Alvin Kamara will give you some differentiation from other GPP game stacks that only have one Saints running back or a Brees-Michael Thomas stack. A Brees/Ingram/Kamara stack will virtually lock up all the Saints touchdowns while leaving you with an average of $4,484 remaining per player to fill out the remainder of your roster.
Los Angeles Rams Stack versus New Orleans Saints
QB Jared Goff $6,700 with RB Todd Gurley $8,800 (GPP)
Correlation Play: RB Mark Ingram $8,300 (GPP) or RB Alvin Kamara $7,900 (GPP) or WR Michael Thomas $7,200 (GPP)
To say that the Rams offense revolves around Todd Gurley is an understatement. Gurley has at least 96 total yards in eight of his ten games. After struggling against the Vikings last week, Gurley will face less resistance this week. The Saints have allowed the third-most rushing yards per attempt (4.7) this season. Stacking Jared Goff with Gurley gives you another unique stack in this popular game.
DEFENSIVE STACKS (GPP Tournaments)
There is only one defensive stack that stands out this week.
Atlanta Falcons Stack versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers
RB Tevin Coleman $6,500 with D/ST Falcons $2,900 (GPP)
If Devonta Freeman is inactive again this week, consider stacking Tevin Coleman along with the Falcons defense. In each of the past two games, Coleman has finished with 21 touches and one touchdown. With that workload against the Buccaneers defense, Coleman should be able to crack 100+ total yards with at least one touchdown. As a 9.5-point home favorite, the Falcons defense is underpriced at only $2,900 on DraftKings.
