In this weekly DraftKings article, we will discuss some FAT STACKS (Cash Game Stacks) that should provide a high floor for your 50-50 and H2H cash game contests. These stacks are safe to use in your GPP tournaments as well, but they may carry a high ownership percentage. In the second half of this article, it’s all about A Dollar and a Dream! DraftKings is going back to their $27, $3.6 Million Guarantee with a life-changing $1 million first place prize!
FAT STACK$ ($$ Cash GAME STACKS $$)
Seattle Seahawks Stack at Green Bay Packers
QB Russell Wilson $6,600 with TE Jimmy Graham $5,500 (Cash Games or GPP)
Russell Wilson checks in as the 8th highest QB with a DraftlKings salary of $6,600. Wilson’s stats have been disappointing over the past 2 weeks. Last week against the Panthers, the Seahawks controlled the game on the ground with Thomas Rawls and Wilson was not forced to beat the Panthers through the air. The week prior was an anomaly that you can chalk up to a long road trip in Tampa. Expect Wilson to bounce back strong this week as there is a good chance that this game turns into a shoot-out. Over the past four weeks, the Packers defense has allowed 26 fantasy points/per game to opposing QBs, third most in the NFL. Jimmy Graham has surprised many as one of the most consistent TEs in fantasy this season. Graham has (3) 100 plus yard games and 5 TDs thus far. The Packers defense allows the 2nd most yards to the TE position this season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Stack vs New Orleans Saints
QB Jameis Winston $6,700 with WR Mike Evans $8,900 (Cash Games or GPP)
The 7-5 Bucs need a win as they are currently tied for the NFC South division lead with the Falcons. Vegas expects this game to be a shootout as evidenced by the highest game total of the week at 51 points. The Bucs have the highest projected team total of the week at 27 points. While Mike Evans will be a popular option, many will avoid Jameis Winston and pivot to more popular big-name starting QBs. Winston has a high floor and a rare high ceiling in this matchup. Over his first 28 games, Winston has (1) 5 TD game, (1) 4 TD game, and (3) 3 TD games. The Bucs have a prime matchup this week against the 2nd worst pass defense in the NFL that is allowing 276.8 passing yards/per game. Evans is the highest priced WR on DraftKings but is a lock for double-digit targets as Winston often forces him the ball. He has immense upside in this matchup.
DEFENSIVE STACK (CASH GAMES/GPP STACKS)
There is a defensive stack that stands out this weekend can be used in Cash Games or GPP tournaments.
Cincinnati Bengals Stack at Cleveland Browns
RB Jeremy Hill $5,800 with Bengals DST $3,500 (Cash Games or GPP)
The Bengals defensive stack stands out as one of the top plays for Week 14. Jeremy Hill will see the bulk of the workload against the winless Browns. Last week, Hill amassed an impressive 25 touches against the Eagles. However, Hill struggled in that matchup with an average of only 1.4 yards/per carry but he did salvage his day by finding the end zone. Expect easier sledding vs. the 2nd worst run defense in the NFL. The Browns are allowing 140.6 rushing yards/per game with 4.5 yards/per carry, 5th worst in the NFL. Hill has had some of his best games of his career against the Bengals over the past couple seasons. Earlier this year in Week 7, Hill had his best week of the season with 192 total yards and 1 TD. Last season in Week 13, Hill rushed for 98 yards and 1 TD. Hill is a lock for cash games as he is underpriced at a DraftKings salary of only $5,800. The Bengals defense correlates well in this matchup as the Browns are projected to only score 18.75 points. Robert Griffin III III is expected to start which can only be considered a positive for the Bengals defense. This game is expected to be played in the snow which is a recipe for disaster for Griffin and the Browns offense.
A DOLLAR AND A DREAM (GPP STACKS)
Here are some GPP stacks that should carry a low ownership percentage but provide multi-touchdown upside.
Indianapolis Colts Stack vs. Houston Texans
QB Andrew Luck $6,900 with WR T.Y. Hilton $7,500 (GPP)
Correlation Play: RB Lamar Miller $5,100
The 6-6 Colts are projected with the 2nd highest team total of the weekend at 26.25 points but may be under-owned in DFS. Expect Andrew Luck to bring his A-game in this battle for the AFC South division. Luck has been consistent with multiple-touchdowns in 4 of his past 5 games. Texans CB Jonathan Joseph suffered 2 cracked ribs and a bruised lung during last weeks’ game. He has not practiced this week and is questionable to play this week. If Joseph scratches, T.Y. Hilton is in a plus spot against Texans CBs Kareem Jackson and A.J. Bouye. Hilton is always a threat for a deep touchdown and has 4 games this season with at least 133 receiving yards. Look to roster Lamar Miller for a GPP tournament correlation play. Millers’ touches have been inconsistent over the past 4 weeks (15, 22, 26, 15) but he had his best game of the season when he played these same Colts in Week 6. In that matchup, Miller had 27 touches for 178 total yards and 2 TDs, good for 35.8 DraftKings fantasy points.
New Orleans Saints Stack at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
QB Drew Brees $7,400 with Coby Fleener $3,700 (GPP)
Correlation Play: WR Mike Evans $8,900
Vegas has the Saints/Bucs projected with the highest amount of points at 51. Many will shy away from Drew Brees after his disappointing performance against the Lions last week. Add in that the Saints are on the road and Brees’ history of home/road splits and we have a good opportunity to roster Brees at lower ownership than most weeks. Expect Brees to bounce back strong this week with a multiple-touchdown performance. The Bucs have surrendered 22 passing TDs thus far, 6th most in the NFL. Michael Thomas has not practiced yet this week and is questionable to play with a foot injury. Saints TE Josh Hill suffered a broken fibula during Week 13 and is out for the season. This leaves some additional targets for the remaining Saints receiving options. Coby Fleener had been splitting time with Hill prior to the injury. Expect Fleener to see additional snaps and be a factor in the passing game. At a DraftKings salary of only $3,700, Fleener is a cheap pivot from some more popular TE options. By rostering Fleener, you make space for superstars like Mike Evans, who stands out as a correlation play in this matchup. If this game turns into a shootout as expected, you will need to roster Evans, who has an incredibly high ceiling in this matchup.
New York Giants Stack vs. Dallas Cowboys
QB Eli Manning $5,500 with WR Odell Beckham Jr $8,000 (GPP)
Correlation Play: RB Ezekiel Elliott $8,400
Eli Manning and Odell Beckham both seem underpriced on DraftKings this week. Even though this is a division matchup, we can expect some points with a 47.5 game total. The Cowboys weekly game plan is to control time of possession to mask their defensive woes. The Cowboys have the 29th ranked pass defense in the NFL and are allowing 276.2 passing yards/per game. Manning has a history of performing in a boom/bust nature but has been remarkably consistent with multiple TDs in his past 5 games. Beckham has rebounded from his slow early season start. Beckham has a high ceiling every time he steps on the field. Keep an eye on the Cowboys practice/injury report as CB Morris Claiborne has been inactive the past few weeks with a groin injury. Dallas CB Orlando Scandrick has also been dealing with a foot injury. These injuries only boost the potential for a huge week for Beckham. For a correlation play, consider Ezekiel Elliott, who is priced at a sweet spot on DraftKings, $1,400 less than David Johnson and $600 less than LeVeon Bell. While others are trying to fit in the higher priced RBs, save salary with the Dallas workhorse RB. Elliott is having a phenomenal rookie season with 1,607 total yards and 13 TDs thus far.
