In this weekly DraftKings article, we will discuss some FAT STACKS (Cash Game Stacks) that should provide a high floor for your 50-50 and H2H cash game contests. These stacks are safe to use in your GPP tournaments as well, but they may carry a high ownership percentage. In the second half of this article, it’s all about A Dollar and a Dream. DraftKings will be crowning another Fantasy Football Millionaire this weekend! For just a $20 entry, you have an opportunity to win some life changing money!
FAT STACK$ ($$ Cash GAME STACKS $$)
Atlanta Falcons Stack vs. San Diego Chargers
QB Matt Ryan $7200 with WR Julio Jones $9200
The Atlanta Falcons will be the most popular stack in Week 7. Vegas has set the Falcons/Chargers game with the highest game total of the week at 53 total points. The Falcons have the highest implied team total at 29.5 points. Matt Ryan has bounced back strong over the first 6 games of the season. Ryan has four games over 300 passing yards, one with a ridiculous 503 passing yards, with 15 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Julio Jones is the chalk at WR this week, fade him at your own risk in cash games. In his last home game in the Georgia Dome, Jones was not just great, he was phenomenal with 12 receptions for 300 yards and 1 touchdown, good for 51 DraftKings points. The Chargers defense is currently ranked 24th in the NFL with 279.7 passing yards allowed/per game. Expect the Chargers pass defense to continue to struggle with the absence of Jason Verrett, who went on Injured Reserve on 10/7/16 with a partially torn ACL.
New England Patriots Stack at Pittsburgh Steelers
QB Tom Brady $7900 with TE Rob Gronkowski $7200
With Ben Roethlisberger on the shelf with a meniscus injury, Vegas has bumped the New England Patriots up to a 7-point road favorite at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tom Brady will face little resistance vs. a Steelers defense that is starting to rack up some injuries. Steelers DE Cameron Heyward is expected to miss another game due to a hamstring injury. The Steelers defense struggled to generate pressure without Heyward last week allowing the Dolphins to rush for 222 total yards. Expect Brady to march the Patriots up and down the field and delete the Steelers this week. Due to some extreme value plays at the RB position this week, most are likely to pay up for Brady and Rob Gronkowski for their cash and GPP rosters. Gronkowski was listed as a Starting Stacks GPP play last week due to his increased role in the offense. He Gronk-smashed with a career-best 162 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Gronkowski looks to be over his hamstring injury as he has logged 65 and 57 snaps over the past two weeks.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Stack at San Francisco 49ers
RB Jacquizz Rodgers $4300 with WR Mike Evans $7800
Jacquizz Rodgers ($4300) will be one of the most popular cheap RBs in DFS this week due to his increased role in the offense and matchup vs. the San Francisco49ers. Buccaneers RB Doug Martin suffered a Week 6 setback from his hamstring injury and will continue to miss time. Charles Sims is out of the picture as he was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury that he sustained in Week 4. That leaves Rodgers who carried the workload with 35 touches vs. the Carolina Panthers in Week 5. The 49ers have struggled stopping the run since the loss of ILB Navorro Bowman in Week 4. The 49ers have allowed a league worst 174.3 rushing yards/per week with 9 touchdowns this season. Last week, LeSean McCoy rushed for 140 yards with 3 touchdowns. Two weeks ago, David Johnson gashed the 49ers for 185 total yards and 2 touchdowns. Expect more of the same from Rodgers this week at a reduced price point. Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson tore his ACL in Week 5 and has been placed on injured reserve. With the loss of Jackson, expect a few additional targets/per week for Mike Evans moving forward. By stacking Rodgers with Mike Evans, you are essentially locking up the majority of the Buccaneers offensive production this week.
A DollaR and A DREAM (GPP STACKS)
Here are some GPP stacks that should carry a low ownership percentage but provide multi-touchdown upside.
Buffalo Bills Stack at Miami Dolphins
RB Mike Gillislee $3000 with DST Bills $3400
LeSean McCoy suffered a hamstring strain during practice this past Wednesday. Currently, he is listed as a game-time decision at the Miami Dolphins. Bills head coach Rex Ryan said the team is hopeful that McCoy will be able to play but I am not as optimistic that he suits up. If McCoy is inactive on Sunday, Mike Gillislee ($3000) will be one of the more popular RBs on the schedule due to his minimum DraftKings price. The Dolphins are 2nd worst in the NFL allowing 147 rushing yards/per game. The Bills defense should carry a reduced ownership percentage as they are on the road and there are a few teams in better spots. Expect the Denver Broncos, the Minnesota Vikings, and the New England Patriots to all carry higher ownership percentage this week as compared to the Bills defense.
Jacksonville Jaguars Stack vs. Oakland Raiders
QB Blake Bortles $6200 with WR Allen Robinson $7300
Correlation Play: Michael Crabtree $6600
With the Oakland Raiders coming across the country for a 1pm start, the Jacksonville Jaguars stack is in play for GPP tournaments. Blake Bortles has struggled thus far this season but has a “get-right” game vs. a poor Raiders defense. The Raiders have allowed a league-worst 313 passing yards/per game this season. Allen Robinson has struggled thus far with less than 72 receiving yards in every game. Robinson has shown to be visibly frustrated in games and is poised for a breakout game in this matchup. Expect the Jaguars to see a slight reduction in ownership this week. Teams coming out of a bye week are often more under the radar because of a lack of top-of-mind awareness. For a correlation play consider Raiders WR Michael Crabtree. Amari Cooper will be locked up in a more difficult matchup with Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey.
Cincinnati Bengals Stack vs. Cleveland Browns
QB Andy Dalton $6000 with WR A.J. Green $8600
Vegas has the Cincinnati Bengals as 9.5-point home favorites vs. the Cleveland Browns. The Browns defense is 26th in the NFL allowing an average of 285.3 passing yards/per game. Last week, Marcus Mariota passed for 270 yards and 3 TDs vs the Browns. Andy Dalton has been steady this season passing for over 296 yards in half of the Bengals games. Dalton is more of a GPP target this week as most will prefer to pay down at the RB position. Dalton and A.J. Green are both in line for some positive touchdown regression moving forward. Through 6 games, Dalton has 6 TDs and Green only has 2 TDs. Game script is a concern as the Bengals could potentially build a large lead and will not be forced to pass.
