In this weekly DraftKings article, we will discuss some FAT STACKS (Cash Game Stacks) that should provide a high floor for your 50-50 and H2H cash game contests. These stacks are safe to use in your GPP tournaments as well, but they may carry a high ownership percentage. In the second half of this article, it’s all about A Dollar and a Dream. DraftKings will be crowning another Fantasy Football Millionaire this weekend! For just a $20 entry, you have an opportunity to win some life changing money!
FAT STACK$ ($$ Cash GAME STACKS $$)
Buffalo Bills Stack vs. San Francisco 49ers (Cash Games or GPP)
RB LeSean McCoy $6,900 with Bills defense $3,700 (Cash Games or GPP)
LeSean McCoy will be the chalk at RB this week in DFS and for good reason. With the loss of WR Sammy Watkins, the Bills offense runs entirely through McCoy. McCoy has at least 19 touches in all five games this season going over 100 total yards in each of the past three games. The 49ers defense has been hemorrhaging yards since the season-ending loss of ILB NaVorro Bowman in Week 4. Last week, the 49ers allowed 172 total rushing yards and 2 touchdowns to the Arizona Cardinals. Two weeks ago, the 49ers defense was gashed by the Dallas Cowboys for 194 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. We also have the “revenge game” narrative for McCoy this week playing against former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly. The Bills defense is in a good spot facing the 49ers, who will be traveling across the country for an early 1pm start. The 49ers will be starting Colin Kaepernick who may take some time to adjust to the offense. The 49ers have the second lowest implied team total of the week at 18.5 points. Pairing McCoy with the Bills defense is a great anchor for your cash games this week.
Tennessee Titans Stack vs. Cleveland Browns (Cash Games or GPP)
RB DeMarco Murray $7,700 with Delanie Walker $5,500
DeMarco Murray is another RB in a prime spot vs. the Cleveland Browns. For Week 6 DFS cash games, expect most people to pay up for LeSean McCoy, DeMarco Murray or LeVeon Bell this week. If possible, try to fit two of those three in your DK cash rosters. Murray has not just been great with Tennessee, he's been phenomenal! He has at least 119 total yards in each of the past four games. Murray has 5 TDs on the season to go along with 24 receptions. He has at least 18 touches in all five games and a dominating 27 and 32 touches in each of the past two games. Even more impressive is that many of these touches have been while the Titans were playing from behind. Mike Mularkey was not lying when he said we would see “exotic smash mouth” football in Tennessee. Delanie Walker bounced back with 5 receptions for 66 yards and 1 touchdown in Miami last week. Pairing Murray with Delanie Walker locks up most of the offensive production from the Titans. Vegas has the Browns are touchdown underdogs to the Titans. That is a reflection of just how terrible the Browns are at defense. Two weeks ago, the Browns gave up 138 total yards and 1 touchdown to Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones. Barring injury, Murray is a lock for 100 total yards and has a high floor/high ceiling for your DFS cash games.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS STACK AT OAKLAND RAIDERS (Cash Games ONLY)
QB Alex Smith $5,700 with WR Jeremy Maclin $6,300
Alex Smith ($5,700) and Jeremy Maclin ($6,300) are severely underpriced on DraftKings with their phenomenal matchup against the Oakland Raiders. Through five games, the Raiders passing defense has been beyond awful allowing a league-worst 330 passing yards/per game. To put that in perspective, the New York Jets are second-worst allowing 303 passing yards/per game. By pairing Smith and Maclin you are spending only $12,000 of your salary cap. That’s only $2,000 more than Antonio Brown! A Smith/Maclin stack gives you $5,428 average remaining/per player and will allow you the room to pay up for some high priced superstars this week.
A DollaR and A DREAM (GPP STACKS)
Here are some GPP stacks that should carry a low ownership percentage but provide multi-touchdown upside.
Pittsburgh Steelers Stack at Miami Dolphins
QB Ben Roethlisberger $7,500 with WR Antonio Brown $10,000 and/or LeVeon Bell $7,900
Correlation Play: Jarvis Landry $6,800
The home/road splits of Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger have been a popular fantasy topic over the past few weeks. The Steelers are often able to run their no-huddle offense to perfection at home in Heinz Field due to limited crowd noise. Roethlisberger struggled during the Steelers last road game in Week 3 at Philadelphia passing for 257 and 1 interception. The crows should not be much of a factor this week in Miami. Expect Antonio Brown’s ownership percentage to see a decline this week for a few reasons. The first reason is the Sammie Coates Jr effect. Coates will be viewed as the new flavor of the week after his 6 receptions for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns vs. the New York Jets. In 3 of 5 Steelers games this season, Brown has less than 80 receiving yards. And perhaps most important, his DraftKings price has crossed the $10,000 threshold. The image of the extra zero in price will push ownership to lower priced options. Brown still has one of the highest DFS ceilings as evidenced by four games with over 185 receiving yards last season. Don’t forget about LeVeon Bell who has been racking up the receptions (14 through 2 games) and is in line for some positive touchdown regression. Consider Jarvis Landry as a GPP correlation play, as he is a high volume target. Most people will pay up and RB and spend down at WR this week. This is a great opportunity to pay up to be contrarian with an Antonio Brown stack this week.
Carolina Panthers Stack at New Orleans Saints
QB Cam Newton $8,100 with Kelvin Benjamin $8,100
Correlation Play: Brandin Cooks $7,600
Cam Newton is expected to return for the Panthers this week and the time is now. The 1-4 Panthers are facing a must-win division game in New Orleans to have any chance at saving their season. Expect Newton to excel under the pressure with a stellar performance. Vegas has the total for the Panthers-Saints game at a whopping 53.5 total points. The Saints are ranked as the 4th worst passing defense in the NFL allowing 301 passing yards/per game. Expect the Panthers to go back to what worked early in the season, the Newton to Kelvin Benjamin connection. During the first two games, Benjamin racked up 13 receptions for 199 yards and 3 touchdowns. Over the past three games, he has cooled off considerably with 8 receptions for 109 yards and 1 touchdown. If the Panthers revert back to Benjamin being the focal point of the passing attack, he has immense upside against the Saints secondary. Brandin Cooks is a strong correlation play if the game turns into a shootout as expected. Cooks has been quiet over the past few weeks back he is in a prime spot to breakout at home vs. the Panthers rookie cornerbacks.
New England Patriots Stack vs. Cincinnati Bengals
QB Tom Brady $7,700 with Rob Gronkowski $6,700
Stop one on Tom Brady’s revenge tour was a huge success. Brady passed for 406 passing yards and 3 touchdowns last week vs. the Cleveland Browns. Expect more of the same this week at home vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. The Patriots have the highest implied team total of the week at 27.75 points. Gronkowski’s snap count was back up to 65 plays last week, his highest of the season by far. He came out strong with 5 receptions for 109 yards. However, Martellus Bennett stole the show by getting in the end zone three times. Don’t chase last week’s stats! It would not surprise me to see a couple of Gronkowski’s famous end zone spikes this week.
