Julio Jones took his game to an elite level in 2014 finishing 3rd among WRs with 104 receptions for 1,593 yards. When healthy, his receiving totals have steadily increased every season in his NFL career. The addition of Kyle Shanahan as offensive coordinator in Atlanta will only continue to raise his ceiling. Jones currently has an average draft position of WR5 and is being drafted late 1st round-mid 2nd round. Some are hesitant to draft Jones because of his past injury history. But you can't argue that Jones is productive when he is on the field. If Jones was to suffer a season ending injury, what would happen to Atlanta's offense?
BUY
None - Losing Julio Jones for the season would be devastating for Atlanta. Jones is the catalyst that drives the entire offense. Over the last two seasons, Atlanta's record is 3 wins and 9 losses in games without Jones. If Jones goes down for an extended period of time, expect another Top 10 draft pick next year.
HOLD
Matt Ryan, QB - When Julio Jones was lost for the season after 5 games in 2013, Matt Ryan went on to produce similar passing stats as the past 4 seasons. However, Ryan's ceiling without Jones is much lower on a per game basis. Without Jones, Ryan will struggle to post 300+ yard passing games. I would still hold on to Ryan as he has a higher floor than what will be available on your waiver wire.
Roddy White, WR - After two sub-par seasons, Roddy White has fallen out of favor within the fantasy community. White will turn 34 this upcoming season and has lost his big play ability. He has transitioned into more of a possession receiver in the Atlanta offense. If Julio Jones is lost for the season, White's value will remain constant.
SELL
Tevin Coleman, RB - If healthy, Tevin Coleman will produce a minimum of 1000 total yards in Kyle Shanahan's zone blocking offense. Julio Jones will help take the pressure off the line of scrimmage. If Jones if lost for the season, the Atlanta running game will suffer. More defensive attention will be paid to stopping the run. Sell Atlanta's running game while you can still get some value in return.
Devonta Freeman, RB - See Tevin Coleman above.
ADD
Justin Hardy, WR - The Falcons drafted Justin Hardy in the 4th round of the 2015 draft out of East Carolina. Hardy was drafted to assume the #3 wide receiver role previously held by Harry Douglas. Hardy's specialty is the short passing game, especially near the goal line. He has great hands and runs slants and fade routes well. Hardy will be forced into action if Jones goes down with an injury this season.
