In this weekly article, we will provide you with some popular "chalk" stacks and some "under the radar" stacks to use in your DraftKings GPP tournaments. (GPPs)
Chalk Stacks
Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons, Team Total 27.25 points
QB Cam Newton $7,500-TE Greg Olsen $6,900 Total Stack $14,400 (28.8% of salary)
QB Cam Newton $7,500-WR Ted Ginn Jr Jr. $3,700 Total Stack $11,200 (22.4% of salary)
The undefeated Panthers are 8 point favorites at home vs. the Falcons. Vegas has the game total currently at 46.5 points and the Panthers are tied for the second largest team total of the week at 27.25 points. Cam Newton is having a career year and a candidate for league MVP. Newton has averaged 28.9 DraftKings fantasy points over his past 5 games. Newton is not a quarterback that requires a stack for GPPs but there are a couple of receiving options that have multiple-touchdown upside. Greg Olsen is the most consistent option at the TE position with an average of 16.5 fantasy points over the last 5 games. Olsen also helps your roster fill the difficult TE position. A cheap alternative is Ted Ginn Jr Jr., who had 2 touchdowns last week. Ginn is a boom/bust option which will carry a low-ownership percentage in DraftKings GPPs.
Seattle Seahawks at Baltimore Ravens, Team Total 26.25 points
QB Russell Wilson $6,300-WR Doug Baldwin $4,500 Total Stack $10,800 (21.6% of salary)
RB Thomas Rawls $5,800-Seahawks Defense $3,500 Total Stack $9,300 (18.6% of salary)
The Seahawks are 10 point road favorites at the Ravens. The game total is at a low 42.5 points but the Seahawks have the fourth highest team total at 26.25 points. Russell Wilson has been red-hot with 12 touchdowns and 0 zero interceptions over his past 3 games. Wilson has also been a weapon on the ground with 450 rushing yards this season. Many will look to pair Wilson with Doug Baldwin due to their recent performances and low DraftKings salary. Baldwin has averaged 27.3 fantasy points over his past 4 games. If you are looking to differentiate from a Wilson/Baldwin stack, a good option is a Thomas Rawls/Seahawks defense stack. Rawls has averaged 26.9 points over his past 3 games. The Ravens may be forced to start Jimmy Clausen this weekend. Clausen was the quarterback for the Bears when they played the Seahawks earlier this season. During Week 3, the Seahawks defense shut out the Bears 26-0 and earned 18.0 fantasy points.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints, Team Total 27.25 points
QB Jameis Winston $5,500-WR Mike Evans $7,200 Total Stack $12,700 (25.4% of salary)
QB Jameis Winston $5,500-TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins $2,700 Total Stack $8,200 (16.4% of salary)
The Bucs are 4 point home favorites vs. the Saints. This game has the highest total of the week with 50.5 points and the Bucs are tied for the second largest team total of the week at 27.25 points. The Saints defense has been historically bad allowing 35 passing touchdowns this season. To put that in perspective, the Eagles defense has allowed 28 passing touchdowns and there are a few teams with 25 passing touchdowns allowed. Jameis Winston has averaged 21.64 DraftKings fantasy points over his past 3 games. Winston should be in line for multiple-touchdown passes in this matchup. Mike Evans has been consistent averaging 18.68 fantasy points over his past 5 games. An alternative stacking option is with Bucs TE, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who will be playing in his second game since returning from a shoulder injury.
Under the Radar Stacks
Buffalo Bills at Philadelphia Eagles, Team Total 23 points
QB Tyrod Taylor $5,400-WR Sammy Watkins $6,100 Total Stack $11,500 (23.0% of salary)
The Bills are 1 point road underdogs at Philadelphia. Vegas has the game total set at a high 47 points. Tyrod Taylor has averaged 28.24 fantasy points over the past 2 weeks. Sammy Watkins has been the main target with 133.5 receiving yards/per game or 45% of the Bills offense during the last 2 games. The Eagles are the second-worst passing defense, behind only the Saints. The Eagles have allowed 27.5 fantasy points to the QB position over the past 5 weeks. The Eagles have allowed 28 fantasy points/per game to the WR position this season, most in the league. Some will overlook a Taylor/Watkins stack and prefer to play Lesean McCoy in a revenge game vs. his former team.
New York Jets vs. Tennessee Titans, Team Total 25 points
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick $5,400-WR Brandon Marshall $7,600 Total Stack $13,000 (26.0% of salary)
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick $5,400-WR Eric Decker $6,400 Total Stack $11,800 (23.6% of salary)
The New York Jets are 7 point home favorites vs. the Titans. The game total is currently at 43 points but the Jets have the 7th highest team total of the week with 25 points. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been the model of consistency at QB this season with multiple-touchdowns in 10 out of 12 games. Fitzpatrick has averaged 28.9 DraftKings fantasy points over his last 2 games. The Titans have allowed 23.9 fantasy points/per game to the QB position over their past 5 games. Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker are both fine options to stack with Fitzpatrick. Marshall has averaged 35.6 fantasy points over the last 2 games. Decker leads the league with 20 red zone targets this season. Decker also has a touchdown in all 5 home games this season.
