In this weekly article, we will provide you with some popular "chalk" stacks and some "under the radar" stacks to use in your DraftKings GPP tournaments. (GPPs)
CHALK STACKS
Houston Texans vs. New Orleans Saints, Team Total 25.5 points
QB Brian Hoyer $5,000-WR DeAndre Hopkins $9,100 Total Stack $14,100 (28.2% of salary)
The Houston Texans are a 3.5 point home favorite vs. the New Orleans Saints. Vegas has the Texans with the third-highest team total (25.5) of the weekend. The secret is out that the Saints defense is historically bad. They have allowed 28 passing touchdowns this season, fourth-most in NFL history through 10 games. The Saints rank last in the league in points allowed per game (31.5) and yards allowed per game (425). Brian Hoyer is minimum salary on DraftKings and has the best matchup on the board. DeAndre Hopkins has a minimum of 11 targets in every game this season. He is a near lock to find the end zone at least once. Keep in mind that this stack will be extremely high owned in DraftKings GPP tournaments for good reason.
Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers, Team Total 27.75 points
QB Carson Palmer $7,100-WR Larry Fitzgerald $7,400 Total Stack $14,500 (29.0% of salary)
The Arizona Cardinals are 10.5 point road favorites at San Francisco with the second-highest team total (27.75) on the slate. The 49ers have the 6th worst passing defense in the league allowing 277.8/passing yards per game with the highest completion percentage (70.1). Carson Palmer has been the model of consistency at the QB position this season with multiple touchdowns in 8 out of 10 games. Larry Fitzgerald is the safest option to stack with Palmer as John Brown and Michael Floyd have been dealing with injuries. Fitzgerald has a minimum of 10 targets in four of the past five games.
UNDER THE RADAR STACKS
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Indianapolis Colts, Team Total 21.75 points
QB Jameis Winston $5,500-WR Mike Evans $7,400 Total Stack $12,900 (25.8% of salary)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3.5 point road underdogs at the Indianapolis Colts. Vegas has the game total as one of the highest of the weekend with 47 points. The Colts defense has struggled allowing the fourth most passing yards/per game (278.9). Colts cornerback, Vontae Davis, has been dealing with a hamstring injury and has not been the same defender this season. Jameis Winston is still under-priced after his 5 touchdown performance last weekend in Philadelphia. Winston has produced a minimum of 18.28 DraftKings fantasy points in 4 of his past 5 games. Mike Evans has been the main factor in the passing game with at least 9 targets in four of the past five games.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, Team Total 24.75 points
QB Russell Wilson $6,000-TE Jimmy Graham $4,800 Total Stack $10,800 (21.6% of salary)
The Seattle Seahawks are 4.5 point home favorites vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game total has risen since opening at 44 points and currently sits at 46 points. The Steelers have allowed the 5th most/passing yards per game (278.4) in the league. The Steelers defense has struggled to contain tight ends this season. Rob Gronkowski had 3 touchdowns in week 1 and Antonio Gates had 2 touchdowns in week 5. Russell Wilson and Jimmy Graham both carry attractive DraftKings salaries that allow you to fit in some elite talent at the RB and WR positions. Wilson had 3 touchdowns last week and the 5-5 Seahawks need a win to keep pace in the NFC playoff race.
Tennessee Titans vs. Oakland Raiders, Team Total 21.25 points
QB Marcus Mariota $5,500-TE Delanie Walker $5,400 Total Stack 10,900 (21.8% of salary)
The Tennessee Titans are 1.5 point home underdogs vs. the Oakland Raiders. Vegas has the game total set at a moderate 44 points. The Raiders are the third worst passing defense in the league allowing 290.5 passing yards/per game. Marcus Mariota has multiple-touchdown upside with two games of 4 touchdowns this season. Delanie Walker is the Titans main receiving option with a minimum of six receptions in 5 of his last 6 games.
