Carolina reduces roster to 53

Carolina Panthers DT Ulumoo Ale, OG Jack Anderson, LB Aaron Beasley, CB Dicaprio Bootle, OG Mason Brooks, S Alex Cook, OT Jeremiah Crawford, CB Willie Drew, LB Kenny Dyson, TE Feleipe Franks, OT Ricky Lee, LB Derrick McLendon, CB Quandre Mosely, DT Walter Palmore, WR Sam Pinckney, RB Jaden Shirden, DT T.J. Smith, WR Mike Strachan, LB Luiji Vilain, CB Chris Wilcox and LB Chandler Wooten were waived Tuesday, Aug. 27. The team also released OG Ike Boettger, S Rudy Ford, TE Jacob Hollister and TE Jesper Horsted. DT Junior Aho (undisclosed) and OT Tyler X. Smith (undisclosed) were waived/injured while LB Amare Barno (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. The team also placed LB Tae Davis (undisclosed) and LB Cam Gill (undisclosed) on the Reserve/Injured list.
