Register and Get Your Early Bird Free League Credit(s) Today

For the third straight year, we are happy to announce another early start for the 2018 Footballguys Players Championship. More than $2,100,000 in prizes will be awarded after the 2018 season including the $250,000 grand prize. At only a $350 entry fee, can you afford not to play in this tournament?

And something else we've added this year is our Early Bird Incentive: When you register for the FPC before June 30 and draft your team no later than July 15, you'll receive a FREE $35 team credit toward any $35-entry FFPC league. A maximum of three (3) $35 team credits are given per person or account regardless of teams purchased or drafted by Early Bird deadline. To be eligible for $35 credit, FPC teams must be purchased with cash funds. FPC credits are not eligible for the promotion.

Daily online drafts are happening now. You'll get your draft slot as soon as your league fills--which won't take long, we promise! The prize pool--paying all the way down to 700th place--will still remain the same, as will the two preseason waiver wires we introduced last season as well. And the league prize values are up to $2,300 this season as well, so grab your preferred draft times and dates now!

1. NE - TE Rob Gronkowski to be at minicamp

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is expected to be at minicamp, according to Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

OTAs are voluntary, so Gronkowski is staying away. Minicamp is mandatory and he should be there. In fact, Gronkowski could be there with a new contract in hand. By NFL rule the Patriots can rework Gronkowski's deal (with incentives) on May 24th, one year to the day from the last time he got a new deal.

2. LAC - LA to bring back TE Antonio Gates?

Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

The Los Angeles Chargers are likely to consider re-signing free-agent TE Antonio Gates, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That would make the most sense for the Chargers, even though Gates is no longer the player he used to be. Gates had previously been told he would not be brought back, but TE Hunter Henry (knee) suffered what's believed to be a season-ending knee injury Tuesday, May 22.

3. CLE - Baker Mayfield taking third-team reps

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns rookie QB Baker Mayfield was practicing with the third-team offense during organized team activities Wednesday, May 23. QBs Tyrod Taylor and Drew Stanton practiced ahead of Mayfield.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's May, and we know the 2018 no.1 overall pick is not going to sit the bench for long. We'll see how long Tyrod Taylor can hold Mayfield off, and there's a chance the rookie could begin the regular season as the starter. Mayfield is hyper competitive and would not be comfortable sitting on the bench. We think he'll start sooner rather that later, and this is a battle to watch through training camp and the preseason.

4. NE - QB Tom Brady expected for minicamp

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is expected to be at minicamp, according to Patriots owner Robert Kraft. 'These are voluntary workouts... I think he's in great shape,' Kraft said. 'I think he's at an age where he's blessed to have three children and has responsibilities. It's hard to fulfill those during the season.' Kraft also said Brady's relationship with head coach Bill Belichick is good.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brady is no doubt taking care of himself as he skips voluntary OTAs. His relationship with Belichick is in question, but once the team starts winning all that will wash away.

5. MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill has full clearance

Source: NFL.com - Herbie Teope

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (knee) is fully cleared for all football activities as of last week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's now or never for Tannehill as his future in Miami past this year is in doubt. He's been a top-15 QB for fantasy owners three times in his career, but the last season he played (2016) Tannehill was QB26 at the end of the year. Tannehill no longer wears a knee brace and said he's feeling 'really good right now' after recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered two years ago.

6. CHI - Anthony Miller penciled in at the slot

Source: ESPNChicago.com - Jeff Dickerson

Chicago Bears WR Anthony Miller is earmarked to be the slot receiver in the offense.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller was a featured player in the Memphis offense over the last two years, and he's got plenty of experience working outside or in the slot. The rookie is a crafty route runner with the body control to adjust to poorly thrown passes. He's not the biggest, fastest or strongest receiver but Miller is savvy and could become a favorite target for QB Mitchell Trubisky.

7. TB - Tampa Bay signs Bernard Reedy

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Free-agent WR Bernard Reedy (Patriots) was signed to an undisclosed deal by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wednesday, May 23. WR Thomas Sperbeck (undisclosed) was waived with an injury designation in a corresponding move.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reedy has bounced around the league, and was with the Buccaneers during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He'll compete for a roster spot at the WR position and can contribute as a return man.

8. GB - TE Marcedes Lewis to visit Packers

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Haudricourt

Free-agent TE Marcedes Lewis (Jaguars) will visit the Green Bay Packers this week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A first-round pick for the Jaguars all the way back in 2006, Lewis was released by Jacksonville about two months ago. The Packers wouldn't use him as a receiver (they've got Jimmy Graham or Lance Kendricks for that), but Lewis could be used as a blocker and give the team veteran depth.
