Howdy Folks,

Welcome to Game Day. We've got some News and Notes you need so let's get to it.

1. KC - RB Spencer Ware taking over top job

Source: The Kansas City Star - Lynn Worthy

Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware will be the team's starting running back moving forward after RB Kareem Hunt was released.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ware is a talented runner who could start for many teams around the league...and now he's back starting for the Chiefs. He's the hottest waiver wire pickup for Fantasy GMs with Kareem Hunt being released, and Ware should have RB1 value each week as the lead back for the Chiefs.

2. CAR - WR Devin Funchess has chance to play

Source: ESPN.com - David Newton

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess (back) is listed as questionable for the Week 13 game, but head coach Ron Rivera said Funchess probably would have been listed as probable if that was still an option.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Funchess should be out there for the Panthers this week. With the emergence of D.J. Moore, Funchess should only be considered a WR5/deep flex play in Week 13.

3. OAK - WR Martavis Bryant downgraded

Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Michael Gehlken

Oakland Raiders WR Martavis Bryant (knee) was downgraded from questionable to doubtful for Week 13. He has not practiced in three weeks.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Marcel Ateman and Jordy Nelson will be the Raiders top targets at the wide receiver position.

4. PHI - RB Josh Adams added to injury report

Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles RB Josh Adams (hip) was limited in practice Saturday, Dec. 1. He is questionable to play in Week 13.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This late-week setback is not a good thing...so have other options at the ready just in case. It seems like he could play if the Eagles want to involve other backs (Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood) as ball carriers. We should see the return of Darren Sproles this week too.

5. GB - Jake Kumerow to be activated

Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers WR Jake Kumerow (shoulder) will be activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 1, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Activating Kumerow may be a sign for Randall Cobb's availability. We're not expecting much from Kumerow is he's a gameday active in Week 13.

6. MIA - Nick O'Leary receives extension

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Miami Dolphins TE Nick O'Leary signed a one-year extension Saturday, Dec. 1, worth $1.5 million, according to a source. The deal includes $500,000 in guaranteed money.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In seven games this year, O'Leary has seven catches for 77 yards and one touchdown. He'll remain in his role as a blocker and backup to Mike Gesicki for the 2019 season.

7. BAL - No surgery for RB Alex Collins

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) will not need to undergo surgery on his injured foot and should be healthy in the offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Collins here. He had a breakout season in 2017 but couldn't stay healthy and match that production in 2018. Collins is a restricted free agent in 2019.

8. BAL - RB Kenneth Dixon activated from IR

Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

The Baltimore Ravens activated RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 1.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll grab Dixon as a lottery ticket move in deeper leagues. He's behind Gus Edwards, the lead back for the Ravens...but if Dixon gets an opportunity for a larger role he could make plays. Ty Montgomery and Buck Allen also crowd that backfield for Baltimore.

9. PHI - RB Darren Sproles on track to play Monday

Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com - Dave Spadaro

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (hamstring) is slated to be used as a punt returner and will be 'in the mix on third downs' for Week 13's game against the Washington Redskins, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sproles should be back in action this week. He's a change-of-pace option for the team behind starter Josh Adams. Fantasy GMs could throw him in as a 'what the heck' flex in PPR leagues but there are likely much better options out there in Week 13.

10. CLE - TE David Njoku logs full practice Friday

Source: NFL.com - Herbie Teope

Contrary to a previous report, Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) was a full practice participant Friday, Nov. 30, and is no longer listed on the injury report for Week 13's game against the Houston Texans.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A good sign for the young tight end. He's athletic and has a good connection with QB Baker Mayfield. Njoku is a low-end TE1 against the Texans in Week 13.

11. BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin playing less by design

Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin has seen his playing time decrease because the team wants to take a look at how some of the younger receivers could do with more snaps, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In Week 12 against the Jaguars, Benjamin was only targeted twice and caught one pass for 32 yards. He's topped 50 yards just once all year and hasn't found the end zone since Week 2. Fantasy GMs have much better options and Benjamin isn't even worth a roster spot in some leagues.

12. PHI - RB Darren Sproles expects to play Monday

Source: NBC Sports Philadelphia - Reuben Frank

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (hamstring) indicated he finally feels healthy and expects to play against the Washington Redskins on Monday, Dec. 3.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's always been an exciting playmaker and we'll be excited to see him back out there. Sproles also revealed he'd suffered two setbacks since the initial injury occurred. He will give the team a change-of-pace option behind starter Josh Adams.

13. CIN - QB Andy Dalton underwent surgery

Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb Tuesday, Nov. 27.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dalton said he will be ready to go when the team's offseason training program begins in April....but with zero remaining in dead money on his contract one has to wonder if Dalton will return in 2019. It's not a guarantee and something worth watching as the offseason rolls towards us. The Bengals move forward in 2018 with Jeff Driskel as their starting quarterback, starting this Sunday at home against the Broncos.

14. DET - Deontez Alexander joins PS

Source: DetroitLions.com

The Detroit Lions signed free-agent WR Deontez Alexander to the practice squad on Friday, Nov. 30. DT John Atkins was released in a corresponding move.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Alexander, undrafted out of Division III Franklin College, can flat out fly at 6'1" 196 pounds. He plays bigger than his size and does a great job of tracking deep passes. We'll continue to monitor his pro progress but only in the deepest of deep dynasty leagues.

15. ARI - Arizona re-signs Charles Kanoff

Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

The Arizona Cardinals re-signed QB Charles Kanoff to the practice squad on Friday, Nov. 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kanoff was signed to the active roster last week but he's spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad for the Cardinals. Back in the preseason, Kanoff completed 15 of 36 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown. Undrafted out of Princeton in 2018, Kanoff is a player we'll continue to monitor in super deep dynasty formats. The Cardinals only have two quarterbacks (Josh Rosen, Mike Glennon) on their active roster.

16. TB - Bobo Wilson promoted

Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Bobo Wilson was signed from the practice squad to the active roster on Friday, Nov. 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

DeSean Jackson (thumb) is out for Week 13 against the Panthers. That means the Bucs needed to add a body at the WR position. Wilson, undrafted out of Florida State in 2017, is a slot receiver with the quickness and body control to work the sidelines. We're monitoring him but only in super crazy deep dynasty leagues.

17. SF - WR Dante Pettis to start

Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers WR Dante Pettis will start against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

In last week's game against the Buccaneers, Pettis had four catches for 77 yards and one touchdown. Pettis has big-play ability anytime he touches the rock. His speed and quickness in college at Washington reminded many in the scouting community of DeSean Jackson. On the road against Seattle, Pettis is worth considering in deep leagues as a 'what the heck' flex.
