Howdy Folks,

Good Saturday to you. We've got the News and Notes you need so let's get to it.

J

1. LAC - RB Melvin Gordon questionable for Week 12

Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring, knee) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon is likely to play but not guaranteed, so we'll have to check back in Sunday morning to see if we get an update on his status. The matchup is outstanding so Austin Ekeler could be in for a big afternoon if Gordon can't go.

2. NE - QB Tom Brady absent for start of practice

Source: NFL Network - Michael Giardi

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (knee) was not present at the start of practice Friday, Nov. 23.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It sounds like Brady is still going to play, but make sure you're rostering a backup if you were planning on playing Brady on Sunday.

3. NE - TE Rob Gronkowski declares self ready

Source: WEEI.com - Ryan Hannable

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle, back) said Friday, Nov. 23, he is 'good to go' and will play in Week 12 against the New York Jets.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski looks like one of the five or six best options at tight end this week with three weeks rest, assuming Tom Brady will play.

4. BAL - QB Lamar Jackson to get second start

Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will start against the Oakland Raiders in Week 12, head coach John Harbaugh said Friday, Nov. 23.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Consider Jackson a high floor QB1. He was a 16-19 point play last week without getting a hand in any scores and faces the porous Oakland defense traveling east for an early game.

5. SEA - Questionable tag for WR Doug Baldwin

Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Baldwin is a true game-time decision, but he is playing in an early game. He'll be a boom/bust WR3/Flex if he does go, and if he doesn't, Tyler Lockett will be a lot more attractive against the suspect Panthers secondary.

6. LAC - TE Antonio Gates ready to play

Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers TE Antonio Gates (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is not on the injury report for Week 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gates actually has some streaming/Kelce coverage appeal this week coming off of his best game of the year, especially with Tyrell Williams and Melvin Gordon banged up.

7. LAC - WR Tyrell Williams' status uncertain

Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Tyrell Williams (quadriceps) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Williams is out, Mike Williams finally becomes a safer play. The second year receiver has been excellent on a per target basis, but isn't getting a big enough target share to trust in our lineups. Antonio Gates had a huge game last week and could also be a better Kelce bye week or streamer play if Tyrell Williams is out.

8. NYJ - WR Robby Anderson listed as questionable

Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson was outstanding with Josh McCown last year, but McCown wasn't the same in Week 10 and Anderson might still be less than 100% if he plays, so he's only a desperation if active, but this should put him back on the waiver wire radar.

9. TB - Questionable tag for WR DeSean Jackson

Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson (thumb) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 23, but is listed as questionable for Week 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson hasn't been on the same page as Jameis Winston in the deep passing game and he's only a high ceiling what the heck WR3/Flex in this matchup against the 49ers.

10. NE - Week 12 injury report for New England

Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots TE Dwayne Allen (knee) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 12 versus the New York Jets. QB Tom Brady (knee) did not practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable. DB Nate Ebner (knee), TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle, back), OL Shaquille Mason (calf) and RB Sony Michel (knee) were limited in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable. WR Julian Edelman (foot) was not given an official in injury designation Friday after being a full participant in practice early in the week but has been removed from the injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There have been no indications that Gronkowski, Brady, or Michel will sit on Sunday, but check back before kickoff just in case.

11. GB - Green Bay's Week 12 injury report

Source: Vikings.com

Green Bay Packers DL Mike Daniels (foot) and LB Nick Perry (knee) did not participate in practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 12 versus the Minnesota Vikings. S Raven Greene (ankle) also did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful. CB Bashaud Breeland (groin) has yet to practice this week as well but is listed as questionable. S Kentrell Brice (ankle), RB Tra Carson (rib), WR Randall Cobb (hamstring), TE Jimmy Graham (knee, thumb), CB Kevin King (hamstring) and OG Lucas Patrick (concussion) were limited in practice Friday, Nov. 23, but have been removed from the injury report. QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) practiced in full Friday and no longer appears on the injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It sounds like Cobb is ready to return this week, but he is still a negligible fantasy factor until he proves otherwise.

12. SF - WR Pierre Garcon to miss another game

Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and has been ruled out for Week 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dante Pettis and Kendrick Bourne will get more snaps with Garcon out, but Marquise Goodwin is best situated to take advantage of the poor Bucs secondary and make a difference in fantasy leagues.

13. HOU - WR Keke Coutee remains limited

Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Keke Coutee (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 23.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Texans are taking it easy on Coutee in practice, but with the nature of this hamstring injury, we can't rule out that Coutee's status could be affected by it. We'll watch tomorrow's report closely to determine whether you can feel safe waiting on him Monday night.

14. JAX - Week 12 injury report for Jacksonville

Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR DJ Chark (quad), DE Lerentee McCray (hamstring), CB Quenton Meeks (knee) and OL Josh Walker (foot, ankle) did not participate in practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 12 versus the Buffalo Bills. DT Eli Ankou (calf), OL A.J. Cann (hamstring) and DT Marcell Dareus (back) were limited in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and are listed as questionable. CB Jalen Ramsey (groin) was also limited in practice but no longer appears on the injury report. OL Jermey Parnell (knee) was upgraded to a full practice Friday and has also been removed from the injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The loss of Chark will make Dede Westbrook and Donte Moncrief slightly better desperation plays and get Keelan Cole back on the field.

15. PIT - Week 12 injury report for Steelers

Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley

Pittsburgh Steelers OT Marcus Gilbert (knee) and DE Stephon Tuitt (elbow) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and have been ruled out for Week 12. OT Matt Feiler (pectoral) was limited during practice and is listed as questionable. CB Joe Haden (non-injury), C Maurkice Pouncey (non-injury), LB Anthony Chickillo (ankle) and OG Ramon Foster (non-injury) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tuitt is needed in run defense and his absence will help Phillip Lindsay. Gilbert's absence has slowed down the Steelers running game at times and might affect the line's ability to slow down the Broncos edge rush.

16. OAK - Oakland's injury report for Week 12

Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Oakland Raiders WR Martavis Bryant (knee) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens. CB Leon Hall (back) remained out of practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable. WR Jordy Nelson (knee) was limited again in practice Friday and is also listed as questionable. CB Gareon Conley (groin), C Rodney Hudson (ankle), RB Doug Martin (ankle), OT Kolton Miller (knee), OT Kelechi Osemele (knee), DT Frostee Rucker (neck) and CB Daryl Worley (shoulder) were limited in practice Friday but no longer appear on injury report. WR Dwayne Harris (foot), OG Gabe Jackson (pectoral) and S Karl Joseph (ribs) fully participated in practice Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nelson could play, but look for UDFA Marcell Ateman to get a lot of playing time as the team is in the evaluation phase of their lost season.

17. TEN - QB Marcus Mariota likely to play Monday night

Source: The Athletic - John Glennon

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (neck) logged a full practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is expected to start in Week 12 against the Houston Texans.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mariota is still a dicey play on the road in primetime piloting an offense that lacked an identity. The Titans have already shown a willingness to play him at a compromised level of effectiveness over Blaine Gabbert this year. The Titans good games this year on offense have sporadic and isolated.

18. PHI - Week 12 injury report for Philadelphia

Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles LB Jordan Hicks (calf), CB Sidney Jones (hamstring), CB Avonte Maddox (knee, ankle), CB Jalen Mills (foot) and RB Darren Sproles (hamstring) did not participate in practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 12 versus the New York Giants. CB Rasul Douglas (knee, ankle) also did not practice all week but is listed as questionable. C Jason Kelce (elbow) and LS Rick Lovato (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and have been removed from the injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This list of hurt defensive backs for the Eagles is difficult to digest. Odell Beckham should have a field day and Sterling Shepard and Eli Manning deserve more consideration as deeper plays this week.

19. IND - Indianapolis' Week 12 injury report

Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Ryan Hewitt (ankle), C Ryan Kelly (knee) and TE Erik Swoope (knee) did not participate in practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 12 versus the Miami Dolphins. TE Mo Alie-Cox (calf) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable. S Clayton Geathers, S Malik Hooker (hip) and LB Darius Leonard (ankle) also did not practice Friday but have been removed from the injury report. CB Nate Hairston (ankle), DT Margus Hunt (knee), CB Kenny Moore II (back) and DT Al Woods (illness) were full participants in practice Friday and also no longer appear on the injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle become slightly better plays if Alie-Cox is out. The secondary should be in better shape with Geathers and Hooker back, limiting the Dolphins to more short passing with Ryan Tannehill in at quarterback.

20. CLE - TE David Njoku questionable for Week 12

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Njoku should play, but his value in a pass offense that spreads the ball around and is overshadowed by a Nick Chubb led running game is also questionable. He's just a streamer/Kelce bye week coverage option after higher hopes at the beginning of the season.

21. DEN - CB Bradley Roby looking good to go

Source: The Athletic - Nicki Jhabvala

Denver Broncos CB Bradley Roby (concussion) practiced for a second straight day Friday, Nov. 23, and is on track to clear the concussion protocol and play in Week 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Roby will have a tough matchup against Antonio Brown or Juju Smith-Schuster in this one, but at least the Broncos won't have to turn to his backup.

22. NYJ - QB Josh McCown getting another start

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

New York Jets QB Josh McCown will start in Week 12 after QB Sam Darnold was ruled out Friday, Nov. 23, with a foot injury.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCown might get Robby Anderson back and the Patriots defense isn't a tough matchup, but he looked like a shadow of the resourceful, daring quarterback he was last year in the Week 10 blowout loss to the Bills. He's a desperation play and one to target with a streaming defense.

23. CAR - Carolina's injury report for Week 12

Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess (back) has not practiced all week and is listed as doubtful for Week 12 versus the Seattle Seahawks. WR Torrey Smith (knee) was limited again in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable. DE Julius Peppers (rest) was downgraded to a limited practice Friday but was removed from the injury report. S Mike Adams (rest), DE Mario Addison (shoulder), CB James Bradberry (shoulder), LB Shaq Thompson (shoulder), C Ryan Kalil (rest), OT Marshall Newhouse (illness), QB Cam Newton (shoulder) and TE Greg Olsen (rest, foot) were full participants in practice Friday and no longer appear on injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith could play, but Funchess being out makes it easier to trust DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel in your lineup on Sunday.

24. CIN - Cincinnati's Week 12 injury report

Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell

Cincinnati Bengals WR Josh Malone (hamstring) and LB Nick Vigil (knee) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns. WR A.J. Green (toe) and CB Dre Kirkpatrick remained out of practice Friday, Nov. 23, but are listed as questionable. OT Cordy Glenn (back) was upgraded to a limited practice Friday and is also listed as questionable. CB Darqueze Dennard (calf), S Clayton Fejedelem (shoulder), DE Michael Johnson (calf), RB Mark Walton (illness) and S Shawn Williams (hamstring) participated fully in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals should have better help in the slot with Dennard back, but their linebackers are still weak heading into a matchup with Nick Chubb.

25. BUF - QB Josh Allen set to start in Week 12

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (elbow) will start against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12 as long as he doesn't suffer a setback in the meantime, head coach Sean McDermott said Friday, Nov. 23.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allen playing makes the Jaguars defense a more attractive play this week. He tends to be more loose with the ball as a passer and willing to try to extend plays and make aspirational throws, which can turn into disaster.

26. MIA - Week 12 injury report for Miami

Source: MiamiDolphins.com

Miami Dolphins WR Jakeem Grant (Achilles') did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts. WR Danny Amendola (hamstring), TE A.J. Derby (foot, knee), DT Davon Godchaux (shin), OT Ja'Wuan James (knee), OL Ted Larsen (neck) and T.J. McDonald (knee) were limited in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and are listed as questionable. QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder), RB Kenyan Drake (shoulder) and OT Laremy Tunsil (knee) were also limited in practice but removed from the injury report. LB Stephone Anthony (quadriceps), DE Andre Branch (shoulder), OT Jesse Davis (elbow), RB Frank Gore (non-injury), DE Charles Harris (calf), CB Xavien Howard (ankle), FS Reshad Jones (shoulder) and C Travis Swanson (elbow) were full participants in practice Friday and taken off the injury report. WR DeVante Parker (shoulder) was not given an official designation but also has been removed from the injury report.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Drake and Parker being removed after having non-contact jerseys on is a good sign if you have to rely on them this week. Amendola should be a WR3/Flex consideration in PPR as long as he is active.

27. CIN - WR A.J. Green sidelined again Friday

Source: The Athletic - Jay Morrison

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (toe) was spotted at practice Friday, Nov. 23, but only watched the team walk-through.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green has a chance to play, but signs are pointing to him sitting for another week. If he does play, he'll be a boom/bust choice, but one that will be difficult to leave on the bench nonetheless.

28. BAL - RB Alex Collins back at work Friday

Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins (foot) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 23, after sitting out Thursday, Nov. 22.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Collins workload is uncertain with Gus Edwards emergence, but he is still worth rostering if benches are deep enough on the possibility that he regains enough of the backfield work to be fantasy relevant. The Ravens running game has been bolstered by the installation of Lamar Jackson.
