Howdy Folks,

Good Wednesday to you. We've got the News and Notes you need so let's get to it.

1. CHI - QB Chase Daniel to start?

Source: Chicago Tribune - Dan Wiederer

Chicago Bears QB Chase Daniel could be making his first start of the year this week with 'plenty of signs' pointing that direction, according to The Chicago Tribune's Dan Wiederer. QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) is dealing with a shoulder injury as noted earlier. Note this report came out later in the day Tuesday several hours after Adam Schefter's report that the Bears were optimistic about Trubisky playing Thursday.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bears are on the road in Detroit as they play on Thanksgiving in Week 12. Daniel was with Nagy during their time with the Chiefs and knows the offense well. We'll be nerfing expectations for all Bears players if Daniel does get the start. There are conflicting reports on this so stay tuned Wednesday to see which way this moves.

2. TB - TE O.J. Howard goes to IR

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard (foot, ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's two years in a row (Howard's only two seasons in the pros) we see Howard end his season on Injured Reserve. He was a TE1 for Fantasy GMs when healthy and should be that once again next season. The Buccaneers turn to Cameron Brate as their top tight end and he's a favorite target of QB Jameis Winston. Keep Brate's name in mind when looking for a cheaper DFS play in Week 12. Season-long Fantasy GMs know that Brate can post TE1 numbers on a weekly basis.

3. MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill starting Week 12

Source: Palm Beach Post - Joe Schad

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) will return and start in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was the plan all along as most writers around the team expected Tannehill to return after the Dolphins bye. Brock Osweiler goes back to the bench even though Tannehill is not 100 percent (by his own admission). He should be playing from behind against the Colts on Sunday, so Tannehill should be projected as a QB2 for Fantasy GMs in Week 12.

4. CHI - Conflicting Reports About QB Mitchell Trubisky

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) is dealing with a shoulder injury suffered in the fourth quarter of Week 11, but the Bears are reportedly optimistic that he will be able to play Thanksgiving Day, a source said Tuesday, Nov. 20. Note that this report from Schefter was around mid day on Tuesday. Other reports later Tuesday indicated Trubisky could miss the game.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reports vary about Trubisky's availability for the Thanksgiving game against the Lions. If he can't play, the Bears turn to Chase Daniel as their starter.

5. NO - Tre'Quan Smith has limited session

Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (foot) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 20, after not practicing Monday, Nov. 19.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Saints rookie had a huge game in Week 11 with 157 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Eagles. New Orleans is at home for a Thanksgiving night game against the Falcons and it would be a boost to see Smith out there catching passes again. Keep an eye on his status for Wednesday's practice.

6. ATL - WR Calvin Ridley remains limited

Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley (thigh) practiced on a limited basis Tuesday, Nov. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ridley should be ready to go against the Saints on Thanksgiving night. The Falcons will need to put their foot on the gas offensively to keep up with the high-powered Saints attack. That makes Ridley a nice WR3/flex with upside in Week 12.

7. DET - WR Marvin Jones absent again

Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones (knee) was not able to practice Tuesday, Nov. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones missed the Week 11 game with the idea put forth by some that he could be available for the Thanksgiving game against the Bears. That's in serious doubt as he has not yet been able to practice.

8. IND - Jonathan Williams promoted

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Williams was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Nov. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

An interesting move for the Colts here. Marlon Mack, Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines are not banged up....so perhaps the Colts had to activate Williams to keep from losing him to another team interested in signing him away on the practice squad. Williams is likely to be a healthy scratch against the Dolphins on Sunday.

9. LAR - RB Todd Gurley hampered by ankle

Source: TheRams.com - Myles Simmons

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (ankle) was limited in Week 11 after he had his ankle rolled on early against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to head coach Sean McVay. Gurley will be fine going forward, however.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

After an instant classic on Monday night against the Chiefs, the Rams get a bye to get Gurley and the rest of their starters some rest. We'll be monitoring Gurley's progress during the week of practice next week.

10. CLE - Cleveland hosts Max McCaffrey

Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan

Free-agent WR Max McCaffrey (49ers) worked out for the Cleveland Browns Tuesday, Nov. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Browns are just updating their emergency list here. McCaffrey (older brother of Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey) has bounced around the league for a few years. He's big and swift but unlikely to do much if added by another team.

11. DEN - Denver parts with CB Adam Jones

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Denver Broncos CB Adam Jones was waived Tuesday, Nov. 20, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones had seen his playing time take a dive over the last month of the season. Outside of the Week 9 game against the Texans when Bradley Roby was hurt (23 snaps played by Jones), Jones had barely been seeing the field for the Broncos. He's not the player he used to be but a team in contention might add him for veteran depth.

12. CIN - Cincinnati announces plethora of moves

Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals LB Preston Brown (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 20. Additionally, free-agent DE Kasim Edebali (Bears) was signed to the active roster. Free-agents WR Hunter Sharp (Bills) and DE Aaron Wallace (Seahawks) were signed to the practice squad, while DT Andrew Brown (undisclosed) was placed on the Practice Squad/Injured list.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals have been looking for help at the wide receiver position. We'll see if Sharp can impress enough to get promoted to the active roster.

13. GB - Teo Redding signs with Packers

Source: Packers.com

Free-agent WR Teo Redding (Redskins) was signed to the Green Bay Packers' practice squad Tuesday, Nov. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Redding is an interesting name to watch in super deep dynasty leagues. Undrafted out of Bowling Green in 2018, Redding was added by the Lions after the draft. A Scouting Combine snub in 2018, Redding has good speed and athleticism. His skinny frame (6'1" 176 pounds) is cause of concern when playing stronger and more physical corners.

14. PHI - DT Timmy Jernigan activated

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Philadelphia Eagles DT Timmy Jernigan (back) was activated from the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list Tuesday, Nov. 20. DT T.Y. McGill was waived in a corresponding move.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Eagles can use all the help they can get on defense. Jernigan can stuff the run consistently and eat up double teams in the middle of the line. He's strong and can get some pocket push and maybe a sack here and there too (15.5 sacks in four years as a pro).

15. DAL - OLB Sean Lee will rotate in upon return

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams

Dallas Cowboys LB Sean Lee (hamstring) remains out with a hamstring injury, but is expected to rotate with LBs Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith upon his return, owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday, Nov. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We might see Lee get back in action around Week 14. The Cowboys have a nice group of young linebackers and could save $7 million by moving on from Lee this offseason.

16. MIA - WR DeVante Parker doing well in practice

Source: The Palm Beach Post - Joe Schad

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (shoulder) appeared to have normal movement with his injured shoulder as he caught passes at practice Tuesday, Nov. 20

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Dolphins here as they're dealing with a banged up WR corps. Parker could be ready to play against the Colts on Sunday.

17. DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott closing in on rushing lead

Source: FOX Sports

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott is 90 yards behind Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley for the league rushing lead coming out of Week 11.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's an NFC East showdown on Thanksgiving as the Cowboys play against Washington. Elliott should get plenty of opportunity to pass Gurley (who is on a bye in Week 12).
