1. NFL - Interest in WR Dez Bryant not high

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) has more teams not willing to pay him the league minimum salary than teams who are willing to sign him to any deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's following along with the reports about teams in the NFC East being cool on the idea of signing Bryant. He's been on the open market for a few weeks with little interest generated. Bryant has already turned down a three-year, $21 million contract from the Baltimore Ravens.

2. ATL - RB Devonta Freeman able to cut

Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) is able to run and cut now in his rehab from ligament damage in his knee.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A sprained MCL and PCL late last year didn't require surgery, but it was a concern for Freeman heading into this season. It sounds like he's on track in his recovery.

3. NE - QB Tom Brady to play at least two years

Source: The Boston Globe - Ben Volin

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said he 'negotiated' with his wife to play two more seasons, and he's working on more.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brady wants to play into his mid-40s which would be another four years or so. It sounds like it's going to be two more seasons at least. Brady 'pleaded the fifth' when asked if he felt appreciated by the team. He then went on to say that even though Bill Belichick wasn't the easiest to get along with, he's the right coach for him. Drama aside, the Patriots should be in line to make another deep postseason run in 2018.

4. PIT - ILB Ryan Shazier goes to PUP list

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Pittsburgh Steelers LB Ryan Shazier (back) was placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday, May 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's not going to play this year, and we've known that for some time...the Steelers are just making it official here. It was inspirational to see Shazier walking on stage at the 2018 NFL draft, and we hope he can continue on the right path back to full strength.

5. CHI - WR Kevin White's option not exercised

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Chicago Bears WR Kevin White's fifth-year option will not be picked up, according to a source. White is set to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

White's pro career has been set back in a major way by injury. A first-round pick in 2015, White has only played in five games as a pro. These injuries may have robbed him of the trademark speed he had in college at West Virginia years ago. White is healthy now and enters the Bears camp as the No.4 wideout.

6. OAK - Jon Gruden calling the shots

Source: Bleacher Report - Mike Freeman

Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden has quietly consolidated power to the point where he's the head coach, general manager, CEO and just about everything else, according to a source. No other coach in the NFL has this kind of power outside of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is what happens when you sign a head coach to a $100 million contract. Gruden has control of the team, and GM Reggie McKenzie is either going to have to get used to it or move on.

7. PHI - WR Markus Wheaton signing with Eagles

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Zach Berman

Free-agent WR Markus Wheaton (Bears) is signing an undisclosed deal with the Philadelphia Eagles Wednesday, May 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wheaton has done little during his time in the NFL with the Bears and the Steelers. We don't imagine him making the 53-man roster for the Eagles, but he will get a chance for a fresh start (again) with the Super Bowl champs.

8. PHI - Joe Callahan to sign with Philly

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Free-agent QB Joe Callahan (Packers) is expected to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

When the Packers traded for DeShone Kizer it essentially pushed Callahan off the roster. He'll go to the Eagles where he can play as a camp arm during the spring and summer as starter Carson Wentz (knee) continues to recover. Nick Foles is the primary backup, and the Eagles like third-string quarterback Nate Sudfeld.

9. MIN - Matt Linehan invited by Vikings

Source: NFL.com - Gil Brandt

Undrafted free-agent QB Matt Linehan (Idaho) was invited to attend the Minnesota Vikings rookie minicamp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's an interesting invite, given his name and family history of football. Linehan is the son of Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. The Vikings have Kirk Cousins as their starter, Trevor Siemian as their backup and Kyle Sloter as an interesting developmental third-string quarterback.

10. DEN - No option for OLB Shane Ray

Source: The Denver Post - Nicki Jhabvala

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos LB Shane Ray won't have his fifth-year option exercised.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ray had an injury-plagued 2017, with a wrist injury limiting him to eight games. He had flashed as a part-time player with the Broncos earlier in his career, and Ray had 8.0 sacks just two years ago. Things change quickly around here, and it looks like the selection of Bradley Chubb in the first round led to the Broncos deciding they can move on from Ray after this year.

11. NFL - S Eric Reid files grievance

Source: ESPN.com - Dan Graziano

Free-agent FS Eric Reid (49ers) filed a collusion grievance against the NFL Wednesday, May 2.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reid is not drawing much interest on the open market despite the fact that he is coming off a strong 2017 campaign for the 49ers. This situation revolves around Reid's support of Colin Kaepernick in kneeling for the National Anthem and how NFL teams may have 'blacklisted' Reid due to his stance. That may be incredibly difficult to actually prove, but it sounds like Reid is going to attempt to do just that.

12. IND - RB Marlon Mack had torn labrum as rookie

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (shoulder) played with a torn labrum in 2017, according to general manager Chris Ballard.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Colts reshaped their backfield this offseason, and Mack is going to face competition from rookies Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins. Mack underwent offseason shoulder surgery to repair the tear and expects to be fully healthy by training camp.
