1. NE - Restructured deal for TE Rob Gronkowski

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski restructured his deal for 2017 and has a chance to become the highest paid tight end in the league.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gronkowski can play like the best tight end in the league...if healthy. This deal is structured to compensate him if he stays healthy and produces at the expected level. The deal can boost his salary from $5.25 million to $10.75 million.

2. NYJ - WR Eric Decker going full speed

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) is participating in passing drills full speed Tuesday, May 23.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Decker is the best option the Jets have a wide receiver with Brandon Marshall (Giants) gone. This is good news about his health status, but with a bad QB situation we can only recommend Decker as a WR3 in fantasy leagues. His current ADP is WR37 (8.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.

3. NYJ - Equal opportunity for Jets' quarterbacks

Source: The Record - Andy Vasquez

New York Jets QBs Josh McCown, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg will be given equal first-team repetitions during organized team activities, according to offensive coordinator John Morton.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCown has the advantage from his playing experience, and he may win the job because of it. No matter who is the starting QB for the Jets, there is seemingly little fantasy value to be mined here.

4. DEN - QB Trevor Siemian works with first team

Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian worked with the first-team offense on the first day of organized team activities Tuesday, May 23.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Siemian gets the nod to open things up, but he's going to split first-team reps with Paxton Lynch. There are 10 OTAs and five of them will feature Siemian starting as the first-team QB and five of them will feature Lynch at the top spot. The two will battle to and likely through training camp.

5. LAR - QB Jared Goff discusses progress

Source: TheRams.com - Myles Simmons

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff said Monday, May 22, learning Rams head coach Sean McVay's offense has been easier than last year's learning curve under then-head coach Jeff Fisher. Goff noted how different the systems are to learn, and Rams offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur praised Goff's pace of picking up the system.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Rams should put in an offense catered to Goff's skill set. Goff needs to get rid of the ball quicker, and show better poise when facing the blitz. The Rams worked to put better weapons around him in the passing game, and that alone should help him take a step forward in 2017.

6. TB - RB Doug Martin working with first team

Source: Florida Football Insiders - Roy Cummings

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin has been working with the first-team offense in organized team activities Tuesday, May 23.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even though Martin is suspended the first three games of the year, he can workout with the team from now through training camp. He can even play in preseason games, but once the regular season starts he will be away from the facility. During that time, the Bucs should feature a RBBC with guys like Jacquizz Rodgers, Charles Sims and Jeremy McNichols.

7. WAS - QB Kirk Cousins could be tagged again

Source: CSNMidAtlantic.com - JP Finlay

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins could receive a third consecutive franchise tag next offseason, according to team president Bruce Allen. The cost of a third straight franchise tag would be $34 million in 2018.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'd be shocked if that was the case, but this is the NFL and anything can happen. Cousins has been tagged each of the last two years, and Washington isn't committing to him long term. If he hits the open market, we'd expect the 49ers to make a strong push for him in 2018.

8. MIN - QB Teddy Bridgewater throws at OTAs

Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) participated in some drop back passes during organized team activities Tuesday, May 23.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a step in the right direction, but Bridgewater's status for 2017 is in question as he recovers from the severe knee injury suffered last year. Bridgewater's injured knee was in a brace and as he continues to rehabilitate from surgery.

9. DEN - RB Jamaal Charles ready by training camp?

Source: NFL Network - James Palmer

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) hopes to be ready for action by training camp, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Charles will rehabilitate and get back to good health during organized team activities.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos are giving Charles the time he needs to get as close to full strength as he possibly can. When healthy (perhaps in training camp), Charles will compete with C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker for touches/snaps in the backfield. Charles could work in a RBBC behind Anderson, and he could at least be a pass-catching back for the team.

10. NYJ - Backfield committee to be used by Jets

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets RBs Matt Forte and Bilal Powell will serve as a two-man backfield committee this season, according to offensive coordinator John Morton. Morton added that the offensive gameplan will vary from week to week, but a timeshare is expected.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners were already expecting some form of split between Powell and Forte. The news has been cooked into their current average draft position. Powell sits at RB24 (6.02) while Forte is at RB40 (8.09) in 12-team PPR leagues.

11. NYG - WR Odell Beckham Jr. to report Thursday

Source: ESPN.com

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. is likely to report to organized team activities Thursday, May 25.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham was working out with his trainer in California, but will show up to voluntary workouts on Thursday. Not a big deal here.

12. DEN - Denver plans on using RB committee in '17

Source: The Denver Post - Nicki Jhabvala

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph is planning on using a running-back-by-committee system in the upcoming season. 'You need two or three guys that can carry the load,' Joseph said. 'It is no longer a one-guy position. I'm excited to have Jamaal (Charles), C.J. (Anderson), (Devontae Booker), even De'Angelo (Henderson) in the mix there. It's a good group. It's going to be competitive, and that's the way it should be.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is as expected. It's also what you say in May. The Broncos don't have a lead back as Anderson hasn't been able to stay healthy for a full 16 games. They'll use Charles (if healthy) as a change-of-pace back behind Anderson. Booker will be used as a spot runner and potential starter if Anderson is injured again. Anderson has the most fantasy value, and his current ADP is RB17 (4.06) in 12-team PPR leagues.

13. ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald to address future at camp

Source: ESPN.com - Josh Weinfuss

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said Monday, May 22, he plans on addressing his post-2017 future once during training camp and won't talk about it anymore after that.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That sounds...ominous. We won't be surprised if Fitzgerald announces that 2017 is his final season in the NFL. Expect him to earn a Hall of Fame nod after he retires.

14. DAL - Dallas eyeing ILB Daryl Washington?

Source: BleacherReport.com - Jason Cole

Free-agent LB Daryl Washington (Cardinals) has drawn interest from the Dallas Cowboys, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys would have to determine whether or not Washington is worth the risk. He was talented when he played, but it's been some time since Washington has been on the football field. Washington was recently reinstated from his suspension and has not played in the NFL since 2013.

15. PIT - S Sean Davis had surgery

Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers SS Sean Davis (shoulder) underwent surgery on his shoulder this offseason, according to a sources, but he anticipates being fully healthy for training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A second-round pick out of Maryland in 2016, Davis played over 700 snaps as a rookie -- primarily at strong safety for the Steelers. They'll let his shoulder get healthy before getting Davis back out there.

16. HOU - DE J.J. Watt not limited

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt (back) said he has no restrictions and that he feels 'very, very good.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Getting Watt back is huge for the Texans defense. Watt was a full participant with the first-team defense in organized team activities Tuesday, May 23.

17. BUF - WR Rod Streater visiting Bills

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent WR Rod Streater (49ers) is visiting the Buffalo Bills Tuesday, May 23, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Streater hasn't gotten much interest on the open market. The 49ers may just be updating their emergency list here. Streater hasn't done anything in years, and his 60-catch season from 2013 seems like a distant memory.

18. TB - RB Charles Sims taking part in OTAs

Source: Buccaneers.com - Scott Smith

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Charles Sims (shoulder) practiced during organized team activities Tuesday, May 23, after being cleared to practice Monday, May 22. Sims underwent shoulder surgery sometime this offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a good sign for Sims who was knocked out late last year with this injury. The team has a collection of RBs, and with Doug Martin suspended the first three games of the year we could see Sims worked into the mix. He'll compete for touches with Jacquizz Rodgers and rookie Jeremy McNichols.

19. SF - TE Vance McDonald could be cut

Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch

San Francisco 49ers TE Vance McDonald is a candidate to be cut, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. He said it 'wouldn't be a surprise' if McDonald didn't make the 53-man roster.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep this in mind if you have dynasty stock in Blake Bell or if you selected George Kittle in your 2017 rookie drafts. The former regime signed McDonald to a five-year, $35-million extension last December. There is a potential out on his contract, but not until after the 2017 season. McDonald still has $7.7 million remaining in dead money on his contract.

20. HOU - WR Will Fuller trying to add weight

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller said he's planning on trying to gain some weight for the upcoming season. 'I think the most I've ever weighed is probably about 190, and I felt pretty good,' he said. 'That was around the combine. If I can get to that weight and keep my speed, that would be perfect.' Fuller is currently listed at 180 pounds.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller is a speed guy, but he wants some added weight to be more durable. His big play ability makes Fuller an intriguing late-round prospect for fantasy owners. Fuller has a current ADP of WR71 (14.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.
