1. ARI - QB Carson Palmer noncommittal on future

Source: AZCardinals.com - Kyle Odegard

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer said he has no idea if 2017 will be his last year in the NFL. He will evaluate himself when the season is over as he does every year.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Palmer's time as a starter in the NFL is winding down as he's got a year or two left in our eyes. In 2016, Palmer passed for 4233 yards but his passing touchdown total dropped from 35 to 26. Last year, Palmer finished as the No. 16 fantasy quarterback in standard-scoring leagues. This year, fantasy owners are drafting Palmer at QB21 (13.10) and that should be fairly accurate as a projection of where he'll finish. Palmer is now more of a QB2 than he is a QB1 in fantasy leagues.

2. SEA - Seahawks have interest in QB Colin Kaepernick

Source: SI.com - Michael Silver

Free-agent QB Colin Kaepernick (49ers) has drawn interest from the Seattle Seahawks, who reached out to his agent last week. The interest in Kaepernick as a potential backup quarterback is 'legit.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Seattle only has Trevone Boykin as the backup behind Russell Wilson, but Boykin has been in trouble with the law twice this offseason. Kaepernick may want to be a starter, but that gig isn't likely to present itself to him. He could fit in nicely on a championship caliber team if he's willing to accept a backup role.

3. WAS - No return date yet for S DeAngelo Hall

Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall (knee) does not have a target date for his return as he continues to recover from a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With a $5.1 million cap number...and with no timetable for his return...Hall could be asked to take a pay cut in 2017. Hall has missed 31 of his last 48 games due to a litany of injuries.

4. ATL - Holdout unlikely for RB Devonta Freeman

Source: CBS Sports Radio - Knox Bardeen

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman said he can't envision himself holding out if contract negotiations were to come to a halt. Freeman has one year left on his rookie deal.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Freeman is scheduled to make $1.797 million this season, but GM Thomas Dimitroff has stated he believes a new deal will be worked out sometime around training camp. Freeman isn't holding out, and fantasy owners are drafting Freeman at RB6 (1.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.

5. CHI - WR Victor Cruz's Bears visit continues

Source: The Bergen Record - Art Stapleton

Free-agent WR Victor Cruz (Giants) is continuing to meet with the Chicago Bears Tuesday, May 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bears may have interest in Cruz as a veteran who could fill the role vacated by Eddie Royal. They've added some questionable talents earlier this year at wide receiver, including Markus Wheaton and Kendall Wright. Cruz isn't the same player he used to be, but perhaps he'd find a spot on the WR-needy Bears roster.

6. NYJ - QB Christian Hackenberg more comfortable

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg said he feels more comfortable entering his second season in the NFL and believes he has improved since his rookie season. Hackenberg is expected to compete for the starting job during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets selected Hackenberg in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft, but he couldn't do enough to see the field as a rookie. This year, Hackenberg is going to compete with Josh McCown and Bryce Petty for the starting job. He'd have to take a huge leap from year one to year two in order to win the job for Week 1. At some point, expect the Jets to take a look at him but don't expect him to blow the doors off the league.

7. CLE - CB Jason McCourty joining Browns

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Free-agent CB Jason McCourty (Titans) will sign a two-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCourty was bothered by groin injuries in 2015 that limited him to four games. Last year he played in 14 games, but he didn't quite look like his old self. McCourty should compete for a role with veterans Joe Haden and Jamar Taylor in the secondary.

8. HOU - Houston makes several roster moves

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans OT Dimitric Camiel, RB Kenny Hilliard, T.J. Mutcherson and WR Tevin Jones were released Tuesday, May 16. RB Dare Ogunbowale was re-signed and undrafted free-agent WR Chris Thompson (Florida) was signed in corresponding moves.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ogunbowale showed good ability in college at Wisconsin, but he should only be counted on as a reserve or change-of-pace back. The Texans have a talented backfield, and Ogunbowale is going to have a hard time cracking the 53-man roster.

9. JAX - Blair Brown signs rookie contract

Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars LB Blair Brown signed his four-year rookie deal Tuesday, May 16. Financial terms were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown was a tackling machine in college at Ohio. He's a physical player who can thrive near the line of scrimmage. Brown lacks the desired ability in coverage, so he'll have to make his way as a two-down (and likely special teams) player in the NFL.

10. NYJ - Chad Hansen signs rookie contract

Source: New York Daily News - Ralph Vacchiano

New York Jets WR Chad Hansen signed his four-year rookie deal Tuesday, May 16. Financial terms were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hansen was a standout player for Cal in college, and he's one of the more interesting rookie WRs in this draft class. He reminds some in the scouting community of Allen Hurns (Jaguars) because of his strength and ability to catch contested passes. Hansen does a lot of the little things well like working the sidelines and coming back to the ball. He could become a favorite of any Jets quarterback early in his career.

11. ARI - ILB Deone Bucannon had surgery

Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals LB Deone Bucannon (ankle) recently underwent ankle surgery, according to head coach Bruce Arians. Bucannon's goal is to return to action by early September.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bucannon missed three games last year after suffering a high ankle sprain. This surgery was to clean up a lingering problem according to Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians. With his Week 1 status in question, we could see Bucannon put on the PUP list to start the season. That would force him out the first six weeks of the regular season. After that, the Cardinals would have a three-week window to decide whether or not to activate Bucanon or put him on season-ending Injured Reserve.

12. JAX - Dede Westbrook signed Tuesday

Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook signed his four-year rookie deal Tuesday, May 16. Financial terms were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Westbrook is lightning quick with the ball in his hands. He can gain separation in his route with speed and moves, then after the catch Westbrook can eat up yards in chunks. Off field and character concerns dinged his draft stock, but if he's focused then Westbrook can contribute as a slot receiver for the Jaguars.

13. SEA - Seattle makes roster moves

Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta

The Seattle Seahawks signed free-agent FB Kyle Coleman (Seahawks) and undrafted free-agent WR Speedy Noil (Texas A&M) Monday, May 15. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. The team also waived QB Skyler Howard and FB Brandon Cottom.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Noil is quite speedy, and he could instantly contribute as a return man. Off field problems and suspensions plagued his days with the Aggies, so the Seahawks will have to deal with a potential character problem in Noil. He's super athletic...always has been, dating back to his high school days...but Noil has never played up to his enormous potential.

14. DET - T.J. Lang to miss workouts

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions OG T.J. Lang (hip) will not participate in organized team activities and minicamp because he is recovering from hip surgery.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Lions added 'Twanger in free agency earlier this year, and he should be a quality starter for them. One of the toughest players in the league, Lang believes he'll be ready for the start of training camp.

15. DET - Jarrad Davis expected to play in middle

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions LB Jarrad Davis is expected to be the starting middle linebacker this upcoming season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's easy to fall in love with Davis' potential when watching him on film. During his career with the Gators, Davis was known as a strong leader on and off the field. He's always around the ball, can cover and rush the passer if asked to. Davis can have an immediate impact as a starter for the Lions.
