Our Ari Ingel provides his 2017 post draft running back tier rankings for those currently playing MFL10s or looking to make dynasty trades for the upcoming 2017 season.

1. DEN - Open competition at RB in Denver

Source: Denver7 Sports - Troy Renck

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph told reporters Friday, May 12, there will be competition for the starting running back job in training camp, presumably between C.J. Anderson, Jamaal Charles and Devontae Booker.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson has to be considered the frontrunner at this time. Charles has not been himself over the last two years, and he might be best suited as a change-of-pace back. Booker did struggle as a rookie but he led the team in rushing last year, and he was the Broncos third-leading receiver in 2016. We'll see this unfold in training camp.

2. ARI - QB Carson Palmer to rest this offseason

Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer likely will not throw until the end of offseason workouts, according to head coach Bruce Arians. Arians said the team wants to keep Palmer fresh for the regular season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's just good sense when the backup is Blaine Gabbert. If Palmer goes down early the Cardinals are cooked so they have to keep him fresh.

3. BUF - Zay Jones could be No. 2 WR

Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills WR Zay Jones has a chance to win the No. 2 receiver job if he has a strong offseason and training camp, in the opinion of BuffaloBills.com's Chris Brown.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's nobody else there to compete, really. So yes, he should win the number two job. And if the Bills don't keep Sammy Watkins, which they might not as they passed on retaining his fifth year option, Jones could end up as a number one eventually.

4. CAR - Christian McCaffrey done until mid-June

Source: The Dan Patrick Show - Paul Pabst

Carolina Panthers first-round RB Christian McCaffrey will not be allowed to visit the team's facility until mid-June after Stanford holds its commencement exercises.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's still taking classes at Stanford, but McCaffrey was at rookie minicamp last week. McCaffrey will miss a portion of OTAs, but he should be able to catch up with installation without a problem.

5. WAS - Rob Kelley expected to remain lead back

Source: CSN Mid-Atlantic - Rich Tandler

Washington Redskins RB Rob Kelley has reportedly impressed team with his work in the offseason, and he will likely remain the starter ahead of fourth-round RB Samaje Perine for the time being, according to CSN Mid-Atlantic's J.P. Finlay.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Washington added more power to the backfield with the addition of Perine. Kelley should be the lead back at the start of the season, but Perine could be worked in more as the season goes on. Perine can be a hammer to close out games when Washington has the lead.

6. TEN - Corey Davis limited Friday

Source: ESPN.com - Paul Kuharsky

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis (ankle) was a limited participant during practice Friday, May 12. Davis believes he can fully practice at this point, but head coach Mike Mularkey said the team will take things slow with Davis.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Titans are just being cautious and there's no rush, so this isn't a big deal. We will monitor this as camp draws closer, but we aren't on high alert....yet. We do love the pairing of Davis and Marcus Mariota. Given the state of receivers in Tennessee, Davis will be in line for a chunk of targets.

7. DET - Detroit signs all eight draft picks

Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions first-round LB Jarrad Davis, second-round CB Teez Tabor, third-round WR Kenny Golladay, fourth-round TE Michael Roberts, fourth-round LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin, fifth-round CB Jamal Agnew, sixth-round QB Brad Kaaya and seventh-round DE Pat O'Connor signed their four-year rookie deals Friday, May 12. Financial terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Golladay is big, swift and able to haul in deep passes. He'll be worked into a larger role with the Lions offense, but may be limited as a rookie. Roberts is a "Y" tight end who can block and was known in college at Toledo as a TD hog. Kaaya is a developmental quarterback who will compete with Jake Rudock for the primary backup job behind Matthew Stafford.

8. DEN - Denver inks DeMarcus Walker

Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos second-round DT Demarcus Walker signed his four-year rookie contract Friday, May 12. While the total value of the contract was undisclosed, his reported signing bonus is north of $1.8 million.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Walker is a proven pass rusher from the inside of the defensive line. He's known as a snap-jumper, and he's a guy who doesn't want to come off the field. That wore him down at times in college at Florida State, but it shouldn't be a problem with the Broncos as he'll work as a rotational player.

9. DEN - Jake Butt signs

Source: DenverBroncos.com

Denver Broncos TE Jake Butt, a fifth-round pick, signed his four-year rookie contract Thursday, May 11.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Butt suffered a knee injury in Michigan's bowl game, and he might not be ready for the start of the regular season. There's a chance he won't be on the field for the Broncos until the midway point of the year. He's got long-term upside and is comparable to Jason Witten (Cowboys).

10. HOU - Deshaun Watson, two others sign

Source: Houston Chronicle - John McClain

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson, LB Zach Cunningham and CB Treston Decoud signed their rookie four-year deals Friday, May 12.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watson steps into a great situation with the Texans. They've got a great defense, and he's got incredible weapons around him like WR DeAndre Hopkins and RB Lamar Miller. Watson will compete with Tom Savage for the starting job, but we fully expect him to win the job.

11. DAL - Dallas signs most of its draft class

Source: DallasCowboys.com

The Dallas Cowboys signed draft picks CB Chidobe Awuzie, WR Ryan Switzer, S Xavier Woods, CB Marquez White, DL Joey Ivie, WR Noah Brown and DE Jordan Carrell to their rookie contracts Thursday, May 11. Third-round pick CB Jourdan Lewis is the team's lone unsigned draft choice.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Switzer and Brown are the fantasy assets to consider in dynasty leagues here. While Switzer plays more like Wes Welker, Brown has drawn comparisons to Dez Bryant because of his ball skills. Switzer can work as a return man in addition to duties as a slot wide receiver. Brown is not as talented as Bryant, but he is fast and able to make crazy catches.

12. CLE - Jabrill Peppers does not practice

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns SS Jabrill Peppers did not participate in practice Friday, May 12, because he has not signed his contract and his agent advised him not to sign his practice waiver.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Not an optimal start for a guy who will have a lot of work to do in order to fit into the myriad roles the Browns have in mind for him. We think it gets resolved sooner than later.
