1. HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins not at training camp

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter and Tania Ganguli

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins did not report to training camp because he is unhappy with his contract and the team is not willing to negotiate an extension. Hopkins can be fined $40,000 for each day of camp he misses.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A first-round pick in 2013, the Texans own his rights for the next two years as they exercised his fifth-year option earlier this offseason. During that time, Hopkins is set to make just over $9 million combined. He may not get a contract that pays him Julio Jones money ($14.2 million annually), but Hopkins could get a deal greater than what Doug Baldwin ($11 million annually) signed with Seattle about a month ago. He's serious about this holdout, and the Texans should respond quickly.

2. HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins put on Reserve/DNR list

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins was placed on the Reserve/Did Not Report list Saturday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch this Hopkins situation. He's a beat-of-a-different-drummer type of guy, and holding out with two years left on his contract is a bit unusual. The Texans have been throwing around money like they're handing out Halloween candy. We can't see them offering Hopkins more than a four-year, $50 million deal...if they even do that. They should work with their superstar WR, but he should realize that he doesn't have much leverage with two years under their control left.

3. LA - RB Todd Gurley to play more on third down?

Source: TheRams.com - Myles Simmons

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley will likely see some playing time on third downs, according to beat writer Myles Simmons, but Simmons believes RB Benny Cunningham will still see most of the snaps in third-and-long situations.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gurley could be the first pick in your draft, and that's something to be prepared for if you're targeting the talented back in the early first round. In 12-team PPR leagues, Gurley is RB1 (1.05) and he's arguably the best young RB in the league. We're excited about his potential this season.

4. PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger's shoulder 100%

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Tom Pelissero

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (shoulder) said Friday, July 29, an MRI on his right shoulder showed his injury is fully healed. '(The doctors) were really happy, because they felt like the muscle around it had built up and it looked really good,' Roethlisberger said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good...now let's see him keep it that way! Roethlisberger can take a lot of punishment, but the team needs him to take a little less so he can stay on the field and they can keep winning. Fantasy owners should consider Roethlisberger a potential top-10 fantasy QB...if he can stay healthy in 2016.

5. ATL - WR Julio Jones could practice in full Sunday

Source: The Associated Press

Updating previous reports, Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot) participated in individual drills Saturday, July 30, and could receive full clearance for practice as soon as Sunday, July 31. He has been bothered by an apparent foot injury since training camp opened Thursday, July 28, and was spotted rolling his left foot over a ball on the sidelines while team drills were taking place Saturday.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Falcons here. Jones is going off the board at WR2 (1.03) in 12-team PPR leagues. The Falcons passing game is going to go through their superstar WR.

6. MIN - RB Adrian Peterson has hamstring injury

Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (hamstring) was limited in practice Saturday, July 30, due to a hamstring injury. 'Working out, like the week before (camp), he pulled the hammy a little bit,' Zimmer said. 'He can do things, he just can't turn it all the way loose. So we're just being careful with him.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's going to be an interesting season for Peterson and the Vikings. This could very well be his last year with the team, so do they use him up? Fantasy owners trust Peterson as a top-5 fantasy RB, and he's still a first-round pick. The Vikings are wise to be cautious with their superstar back as he deals with this hamstring injury. Make sure to monitor his recovery during camp.

7. ATL - WR Julio Jones not worried

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (undisclosed) said he is dealing with a minor injury and it is nothing to worry about.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners shouldn't be worried by this either. His current ADP is WR2 (1.03) in 12-team PPR leagues, and we shouldn't see that fall much if at all before the start of the regular season.

8. CHI - RB Jeremy Langford struggles as receiver

Source: Chicago Tribune - Rich Campbell

Chicago Bears RB Jeremy Langford struggled beating defenders in one-on-one drills during practice Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Langford is supposed to be 'the man' for the Bears this year, but we don't have a ton of confidence in his game as a featured back. This is why RBs like Kadeem Carey and rookie Jordan Howard need to be on your radar. Right now, Langford has an ADP of RB23 (5.08) in 12-team PPR leagues. We'd rather have guys like Frank Gore (RB31) or Justin Forsett (RB33) who are going well behind Langford in similar formats.

9. GB - Richard Rodgers trimmed down

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Ryan Wood

Green Bay Packers TE Richard Rodgers weighed in at 258 pounds for the start of training camp after playing at 275 pounds last year, and he said his lighter frame makes it easier for him to come in and out of his breaks at the same speed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers is a player to watch for a couple of reasons. First, the Packers passing game is going to be one of the best--if not THE best--in the league. Second, 'starting' TE Jared Cook has never played up to his potential for various reasons. Rodgers is a player to keep in mind if you want a waiver-wire TE that could explode. Of course, you'll be drafting him (as a TE2) if he wins the primary job ahead of Cook in training camp.

10. KC - RB Spencer Ware under the weather

Source: Chiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (illness) did not practice Saturday, July 30, and head coach Andy Reid said he was sick.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ware is likely to be the backup behind Jamaal Charles. However, fellow reserve RB Charcandrick West will play a role behind Jamaal Charles even with Charles back and healthy this year. Ware may not see the field unless Charles is banged up again.

11. TEN - WR Andre Johnson delivers in first practice

Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans WR Andre Johnson made several nice catches during his first practice Saturday, July 30, and head coach Mike Mularkey said Johnson will have a chance to compete for a starting spot.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Titans want to run the ball as much as possible. They don't have a passing game built to put up a ton of fantasy points. If Johnson continues to impress and make the 53-man roster we don't feel he's going to have much fantasy value with the Titans.

12. NYJ - QB Geno Smith sharp in practice

Source: Jaguars.com - J.P. Shadrick

New York Jets QB Geno Smith worked with the second-team offense and connected on deep balls to WR Kyle S. Williams and WR Chandler Worthy during practice Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll be keeping an eye on this situation, but Smith is unlikely to start for the Jets this year with Ryan Fitzpatrick back on the roster.

13. BAL - Mixed results for RB Terrance West

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West broke a few big runs during practice Friday, July 29, but he upset head coach John Harbaugh when he missed some assignments in pass protection.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If you can't protect the QB, you're not going to play in the NFL. West is a larger RB (225 pounds) but he doesn't always run with the proper power. He'll be lucky to make the 53-man roster.

14. GB - WR Jeff Janis receiving high-level education

Source: ESPN.com - Jason Wilde

Green Bay Packers WR Jeff Janis has been a pet project of sorts for QB Aaron Rodgers early in training camp, according to quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep this on your mental back-burner just in case we see Janis emerge during the preseason. He's competing with guys like Davante Adams, Ty Montgomery and Jared Abbrederis to be the team's No.3 WR behind Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb.

15. PHI - RB Darren Sproles still has something left

Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles believes he can play two more years, according to his trainer Todd Durkin.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sproles could be in for a larger role than some think. He's the change-of-pace back for the Eagles, and new head coach Doug Pederson needs to find a way to get Sproles the ball as much as possible. His current ADP is RB45 (10.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.

16. SEA - RB Thomas Rawls lands on PUP list

Source: ESPN.com - Sheil Kapadia

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, July 30. Head coach Pete Carroll, who told reporters Rawls is in 'great shape' and 'has not had any setbacks', also said he will reevaluate his second-year player's status in four-day segments.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That means check back in four days from now. Rawls is set to be the team's starter as Marshawn Lynch has retired. If healthy, he could perform like a RB2 with upside for the Seahawks. However, they drafted three RBs this year who could push for a role in this backfield as soon as this year. Stay tuned.

17. SEA - TE Jimmy Graham placed on PUP list

Source: ESPN.com - Sheil Kapadia

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (knee) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, July 30. Head coach Pete Carroll said the Seahawks will assess Graham in four-day segments, adding that he is still in great shape and has not had any setbacks.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It will be interesting to see how Graham fits in this year--if healthy. Simply put, the Seahawks were a better offense when he wasn't on the field in 2015. Graham is recovering from a November patellar tendon rupture, and his availability for the preseason or regular season is still unclear.

18. CLE - Cleveland wants to run the ball

Source: Elyria Chronicle-Telegram - Scott Petrak

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson said head coach Hue Jackson has made it clear that the Browns will run the ball and that he wants to establish a physical mentality.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Browns QB situation isn't the greatest, so the team should want to run the ball as much as possible. We'll see if they're able to stay in games with a defense that has more than a few question marks. Johnson is coming off the board at RB21 (5.04) in 12-team PPR leagues.

19. NYG - WR Victor Cruz is on schedule

Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (calf) is on schedule in his recovery process from a calf injury for which he missed all of last season. Cruz practiced for a second straight day Saturday, July 30, without limitations.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

More good news about Cruz here. We want to see him get back to his old self, but that's far from a guarantee. Monitor his progress as we continue through training camp.

20. BUF - RB Karlos Williams close to playing weight

Source: The Buffalo News - Tyler Dunne

Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams said he is 'not far at all' from his playing weight.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He was overweight earlier this offseason and now suspended the first four games of the year. Williams needs to do as much as possible to show that he's serious about being a pro and getting into shape does indicate that.

21. SD - RB Melvin Gordon avoids PUP list

Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) was not placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list and appears to be a full participant at practice Saturday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon had microfracture surgery on his knee back in January, so his status for the start of camp has always been in question. It's good to see him avoid the PUP, but expect the Chargers to monitor him closely as he continues to recover from this serious injury.

22. PHI - WR Rueben Randle leaves practice

Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen

Philadelphia Eagles WR Rueben Randle (cramps) left practice early Saturday, July 30, because he was dealing with cramps.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Randle needs to get over these cramps and get on the field to impress ASAP. He's never been a consistent player, and we don't expect that to change now that he's with the Eagles.

23. JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon sidelined Saturday

Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (ankle) not participating in practice Saturday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Yeldon is going to work in a RBBC with Chris Ivory this year. He lost weight this offseason in an effort to play lighter and quicker. Watch to see how severe this ankle problem is.

24. MIA - Coaches impressed with WR Kenny Stills

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills has been impressing the coaching staff since the team's minicamp and is performing well during practice Saturday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stills in an interesting fit in the Adam Gase system. His speed could be used to stretch the field while No.1 WR Jarvis Landry does his work underneath.

25. PIT - No timetable for TE Ladarius Green

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Chris Adamski and Ralph N. Paulk

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) does not have a timetable for when he will be able to return to practice.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch out for second-year pro Jesse James while Green is out. It's going to look different without Heath Miller on the field for the Steelers this year. Green could be a nice replacement in the league's most high-powered offense...if healthy. He could be a top-10 fantasy TE in 2016, and Green has a current ADP of TE10 (9.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.

26. BAL - WR Chris Moore impressing early

Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens WR Chris Moore has generated some buzz early in training camp because he has caught a 60-yard touchdown pass in each of the first two practices. Moore has received increased snaps during training camp because of the injuries to WRs Steve Smith (Achilles') and Breshad Perriman (knee).

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's Moore's game...always has been, and always will be. The kid has some savvy downfield tracking ability, but needs to learn the full route tree. We like adding Moore in dynasty leagues.

27. DET - Mathew Stafford expects different offense

Source: Detroit Free Press - Carlos Monarrez

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford said he expects to lean on the running game a little more in 2016 with WR Calvin Johnson now retired. 'I think it'll make us different,' he said Thursday, July 28. 'It's on us to make it more dangerous. We got to go out there and make the plays.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's going to be weird not seeing WR Calvin Johnson catching passes from Stafford this year. Fantasy owners know the offense is going to flow through Stafford as their rushing attack doesn't exactly strike fear into opponents. We like Stafford as a QB2 with QB1 upside in 2016.

28. JAX - DT Malik Jackson trims down

Source: The Florida Times-Union - Hays Carlyon

Jacksonville Jaguars DT Malik Jackson was asked to improve his cardio and drop some weight following OTAs, and he reported to training camp 12 pounds lighter. 'I want them to know I am who they thought I am,' Jackson said. 'This was the first step in building that relationship. They trusted me to go back and do those things, so they're excited about that now.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson was a big free agent prize for the Jaguars. He seemed to get better and better each year with the Broncos. We'll see if Jackson can continue to improve and greatly benefit the Jaguars pass rush.

29. MIN - WR Cordarrelle Patterson to miss a few days

Source: NFL.com - Max Meyer

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson (shoulder) is expected to miss several days of practice. He injured his left shoulder while making a diving catch Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Patterson is running out of time with the Vikings. He'll likely have to go to another team for a fresh start. Dynasty owners should stash him in deeper leagues.

30. CAR - ILB Luke Kuechly nearly full strength

Source: Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person

Carolina Panthers LB Luke Kuechly (shoulder) said his left shoulder has nearly returned to full strength. He'll continue to wear the harness that he wore in the playoffs, but he hopes to shed it by the season opener.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The opener is against the Broncos, and the Panthers will be looking for revenge after losing Super Bowl 50 to Denver. Kuechly should be out of the harness by that time, and he should be back to flying all over the field.

31. LA - RB Tre Mason does not report to practice

Source: NFLCommunications.com - Randall Liu

Los Angeles Rams Tre Mason (personal) was placed on the reserve/DNP list Saturday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mason is having personal issues. We hope everything gets worked out and he's okay.

32. KC - OLB Justin Houston lands on PUP

Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher

Kansas City Chiefs LB Justin Houston (knee) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. The Chiefs superstar pass-rusher is a question mark to begin the regular season. He may begin the year in a limited role and get worked back into a larger role as the season rolls on.

33. KC - OLB Tamba Hali placed on PUP list

Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher

Kansas City Chiefs LB Tamba Hali (knee) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, July 30.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hali should be cleared for practice at some point during camp. The team can bring him off the PUP list at any time. With Justin Houston (knee) also recovering on the PUP list, the Chiefs need to be cautious with Hali.

34. DEN - DT Sylvester Williams' injury not serious

Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos DT Sylvester Williams (shoulder) tested out well with his shoulder, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Broncos here. Williams is going to start at nose tackle in the second year of the Wade Phillips defense. He'll come off the field in nickel packages (run over 60 percent of the time by the Broncos last year), but Williams is an important part of their early-down run defense.

35. BAL - TE Crockett Gillmore pulls hamstring

Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore (hamstring) suffered a pulled hamstring Friday, July 29, but it is not considered to be serious. He will need some time off to heal, however.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gillmore has talent, but injuries have knocked his career off track. Add in the fact that Baltimore goes four deep at TE, and Gillmore lacks any fantasy relevance for the foreseeable future.

Source: ESPNChicago.com - Jeff Dickerson

Chicago Bears WR Kevin White said QB Jay Cutler has taught him to use all of his speed when running routes in order to take advantage of Cutler's strong arm to put pressure on defensive backs.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It may sound crazy to some, but White can't outrun Cutler's arm. As soon as he realizes that, the better it will be for their connection.

37. ARI - TE Jermaine Gresham misses practice Saturday

Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals TE Jermaine Gresham (hamstring) did not practice Saturday, July 30, after suffering a hamstring injury Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gresham is back with the Cardinals, but head coach Bruce Arians doesn't use the TE that much. He's got little to no fantasy value in 2016.

38. ARI - DE Robert Nkemdiche likely out two weeks

Source: ESPN.com - Josh Weinfuss

Updating a previous story, Arizona Cardinals rookie DL Robert Nkemdiche (ankle) is expected to miss about two weeks with a high ankle sprain suffered during rookie drills Tuesday, July 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

High-ankle sprains are known to linger if not given enough time to heal properly. Nkemdiche is a talented prospect with intriguing upside. We see him as a part-time pass-rusher for the Cardinals this year.

39. TB - TE Cameron Brate bulking up

Source: PewterReport.com - Eric Horchy

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate said he added about five pounds of muscle since spring practices in order to improve his blocking and become a complete tight end.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep Brate on your waiver-wire speed dial. He's the backup behind Austin Seferian-Jenkins on paper, but Brate could take over for him during the year. Seferian-Jenkins has been a big disappointment as a pro, and Brate has flashed while filling in for him before.
