1. MIA - RB Arian Foster to PUP

Source: Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (Achilles') was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is not a huge surprise, considering Foster is coming back from a torn achilles, but it is a reminder that a return to the player he was pre-injury is not a given. He needs to avoid soft tissue injuries in his reconditioning to have a chance to win the starting spot. As a veteran, he could be given a little slack if he misses a lot of practice or the preseason, but his ability to get back on the field as quickly as possible this summer will be the best indicator of his ability to stay healthy this year. Recent history still points to Jay Ajayi having significant value at some point this year.

2. GB - RB Eddie Lacy accelerating

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Michael Cohen

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy has been finishing runs and showing the acceleration he had early in his career, according to running backs coach Ben Sirmans.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lacy should still be held below the level of an RB1 workload with James Starks still playing a high level, but he will get enough touches in a good offense to justify his third-round price. After being considered a "safe" first-round pick last year, Lacy's risk factor in the third is going down.

3. BAL - WR Steve Smith's injury was more severe

Source: BleacherReport.com - Dan Pompei

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith (Achilles') suffered a double rupture of his Achilles' last season, which surgeon, Robert Anderson, said was the first one he had ever seen.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith has been defying physics and logic for his entire career, but this sounds like a real cap on his upside this season, and his ability to be on the field for Week 1. The more we learn about the Ravens wide receiver corps this season, the more we like Kamar Aiken.

4. CAR - WR Kelvin Benjamin close to 100%

Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) is close to top form, head coach Ron Rivera said Saturday, July 30, and wide receivers coach Ricky Proehl said he has been impressed by Benjamin's ability to make contested catches.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Looks like the torn ACL is not a factor, so Benjamin should be prime for a great WR2 kind of season. The offense struggled at times without him, so expect Cam Newton to use him early and often.

5. ATL - WR Julio Jones will be fully back soon

Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Andrew Hirsh

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (undisclosed) will be a full participant in practice 'in the next day or so,' according to head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn decided to sit Jones out during team drills Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This matches the earlier reports to not be worried about Jones leaving practice earlier this week. As long as whatever this is/was doesn't recur, we won't be moving Jones from the top 3 of our wide receiver board and top 5 of our overall board.

6. BUF - RB LeSean McCoy in good shape

Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy reported to training camp at 210 pounds, which is the lightest he has been in years.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We generally like for running backs to maintain their weight, but if they are going to change, lighter is better than heavier for maintenance of speed and agility. Hopefully McCoy can have a healthier 2016 than 2015. If so, he'll be a value in as a third round pick.

7. PHI - Philly QBs splitting time in training camp

Source: NFL.com - Tyler Dragon and Rachel Wenzlaff

Philadelphia Eagles QBs Sam Bradford, Chase Daniel and Carson Wentz will split reps evenly at the beginning of training camp, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This quarterback situation is a mess, and it could lead to offensive instability during the season. Bradford is getting paid starter money, but he seems to have one foot out of the door since Wentz was drafted. Wentz is coming from a small school at North Dakota State and is probably not ready for NFL regular season action yet. Daniel is a limited backup, but the team could be forced to turn to him if Bradford's season goes south. It's hard to expect this passing game to outperform expectations this year.

8. MIN - RB Adrian Peterson recovering from minor injury

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Matt Vensel

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (undisclosed) was held out of selected team drills Friday, July 29, because he is recovering from an undisclosed offseason injury, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. However, he performed the conditioning test and participated in running light sprints from sideline to sideline before eventually receiving a handful of carries near the end of team drills.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopefully this is as minor as the Vikings are making it sound. They have characterized it as a "tweak". We always have to be more cautious with running backs over 30, even those that play at a Hall of Fame level. Jerick McKinnon could be an important player this year if Peterson breaks down, and he did in 2013 by the end of the season.

9. CLE - Robert Griffin works with starters

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III received all of the snaps with the first-team offense during practice Friday, July 29. QB Josh McCown worked with the second-team offense during practice.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Griffin is clearly going to be the starting quarterback for the Browns even if the team isn't coming out and saying it. He's worth a pick in deeper leagues and 2QB leagues, but Griffin could go undrafted in typical redraft leagues. Hue Jackson could help turn his career around, but we want to see some affirmative signs of that before we invest in Griffin. Obviously the stock of players like Gary Barnidge, Corey Coleman, Duke Johnson, and Josh Gordon depend a bit on Griffin, but if he falters, McCown might be the best backup in the league right now.

10. NYG - WR Sterling Shepard the No. 2 receiver

Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard ran with the first-team offense Friday, July 29, and was also on the field during plays with just two wide receivers.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Victor Cruz's return to practice is a feel good story, but unless he really got back to his pre-injury form, Shepard should be entrenched as the #2 receiver. Cruz would be the first player to get back to a high level after that injury if he can pull it off.

11. DET - WR Anquan Boldin working out of the slot

Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein

Detroit Lions WR Anquan Boldin spent a lot of time with the first-team offense with most of his repetitions as the slot receiver Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is not great for Eric Ebron, as the two of them would be competing for targets in the middle of the field. T.J. Jones was set up to have the lead for the slot job with less imposing veterans like Jeremy Kerley, Andre Roberts, and Bubba Caldwell as competition, but his road to relevance in deep dynasty leagues is rougher now.

12. BAL - TE Crockett Gillmore injures hamstring

Source: CSNMidAtlantic.com - Clifton Brown

Baltimore Ravens TE Crockett Gillmore (hamstring) left practice Friday, July 29, with a hamstring injury that will require an MRI.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gillmore is a quality player, but he just can't stay healthy. If this is a serious injury, Dennis Pitta's chances of making the team go up. Ben Watson is looking entrenched as the starter right now.

13. NYG - WR Victor Cruz at practice

Source: New York Daily News - Ralph Vacchiano

New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (knee, calf) is practicing Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is the best news we could have hoped for, as Cruz attempts to comeback from a 2014 patellar tendon tear. Even if he makes the team, Cruz will be the #3 wide receiver at best. We hope that he can recover to the level of having fantasy value again, but it would be a major surprise. Second-round pick Sterling Shepard is the complement to Odell Beckham to target in drafts this year.

14. SD - DE Joey Bosa not reporting Friday

Source: NFL.com - Steve Wyche

San Diego Chargers DE Joey Bosa will not report to camp Friday, July 29, amid a contract dispute.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

First-round holdouts appeared to be a thing of the past under the new CBA, but Bosa and the Chargers apparently have a dispute over offset language and the timing of bonus payments. This shouldn't last long with how much the Chargers need Bosa to make an impact this year.

15. PHI - RB Darren Sproles inks extension

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles signed a one-year, $4.5 million extension Friday, July 29. The two sides had worked on it since June.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This news points to Sproles playing a large role in the Eagles backfield, which should feature running backs as pass catchers. He should have PPR flex value with RB2 upside week-to-week, especially if Ryan Mathews' injury woes continue. Expect Sproles' ADP to rise from the late rounds with this assurance after an offseason full of speculation that he would be traded from an Eagles team looking to the future.

16. IND - Indianapolis using three receiver sets

Source: The Indianapolis Star - Stephen Holder

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton, WR Donte Moncrief and WR Phillip Dorsett have been part of the three-receiver lineup implemented by offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski in the first two days of training camp. Under former offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, Indianapolis primarily used two-tight end sets.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We like Moncrief to play a little more consistently as a WR3, with Dorsett a WR6. Of course, TY Hilton is the WR2 gem of the bunch. All of this only matters if Andrew Luck bounces back from a terrible - and injury filled - 2015.

17. BUF - RB Karlos Williams to NFI list

Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams was placed on the Non-Football Illness list Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams needs to get in game shape, stat, and then impress the coaches to secure his roster spot in the wake of a four-game suspension to open the season. James Wilder Jr. had a good offseason and he could possibly threaten Williams' spot if his commitment to football appears to be wavering. The team has also reached out to Reggie Bush in the wake of Williams' suspension.

18. BUF - WR Sammy Watkins to PUP

Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (foot) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins was reportedly playing pickup basketball and said x-rays show his foot is fully healed. If he can get on the field in the next week or two and get through re-conditioning without incident, he'll be worth a third-round pick, but those are still ifs until they happen.

19. LA - RB Tre Mason misses team meeting

Source: Los Angeles Daily News - Vincent Bonsignore

Los Angeles Rams RB Tre Mason is believed to have missed the mandatory team meeting Friday, July 29, according to sources.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mason appears to be in the throes of a mental health problem of a similar severity to the ones that torpedoed the careers of Joseph Randle and Titus Young. We hope he finds the help he needs. In the meantime, 2015 preseason star Malcolm Brown could have the inside track to be the between the tackles backup to Todd Gurley.

20. DET - OLB DeAndre Levy placed on PUP list

Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions LB DeAndre Levy (hip) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This could be anything from precautionary to a serious issue after Levy's hip problem basically cost him 2015. He is possibly the most important player on the Lions defense, so if he's not himself for 2016, it is a major development. Stay tuned.

21. ARI - RB Andre Ellington could return kicks

Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington could return kickoffs because it would be hard to have three active running backs and none playing special teams.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ellington is still very explosive and a great passing game weapon, but he appears to be out of head coach Bruce Arians' good graces and will need to provide value elsewhere to be active over special teamer Stepfan Taylor.

22. DAL - RB Darren McFadden designation update

Source: SportsDayDFW.com - Jon Machota

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (elbow) was placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A report from Bleacher Report's Jason Cole puts McFadden on track to return Week 1, but we know how McFadden can turn a routine re-conditioning post-injury into an extended absence. At least this is not a leg injury. We would be hesitant to draft McFadden unless it starts to look like Ezekiel Elliott is in danger of a suspension from a recent domestic violence accusation.

23. DAL - Dallas out on free-agent QB Nick Foles

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Brandon George

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) is not an option for the Dallas Cowboys, owner/general manager Jerry Jones said Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That the Cowboys don't want to bring in Foles to potentially upgrade from Kellen Moore at backup quarterback behind one of the most fragile starting quarterbacks in the league says a lot about where Foles is in the league's eyes right now.

24. PIT - Le'Veon Bell not limited

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Chris Adamski

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (knee) appeared to be a full participant during practice Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bell's knee injury recovery suddenly lost its place as the main drag on his value going into the season when he was suspended for four games. Without the suspension we would have celebrated this news and breathed a sigh of relief, and it still should make you more comfortable drafting him in the second round.

25. MIN - WR Cordarrelle Patterson injured Friday

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Matt Vensel

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson (arm) suffered an apparent injury to his left shoulder or collarbone during practice Friday, July 29. He sustained the injury after making a diving catch and was forced to leave early. Head coach Mike Zimmer does not believe the problem is serious.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Patterson generated some buzz this offseason with better route-running, but he is still trying just to get his foot in the door in this offense. This could slow down whatever momentum he built earlier this year.

26. DET - RB Ameer Abdullah limited Friday

Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah (shoulder) was wearing a no-contact jersey during practice Friday, July 29. Abdullah said he is taking things day-to-day but is confident that he will be where he needs to be at the start of the regular season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Abdullah avoided the PUP after offseason shoulder surgery, but it sounds like he is not all the way back to 100%. He should take a step forward this year, but his upside is capped in what should be a three-way RBBC in Detroit.

27. BUF - QB Nick Foles unlikely an option for Bills

Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) likely will not be an option for the Buffalo Bills because general manager Doug Whaley said the team is happy with their quarterback situation.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team has EJ Manuel as a backup and Cardale Jones as a long-term developmental project, and the offense de-emphasizes the quarterback, so Foles doesn't really fit both on the depth chart or in the style of play.

28. MIA - RB Damien Williams out of shape

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins RB Damien Williams (undisclosed) reported to training camp out of shape and is not ready to practice. Head coach Adam Gase is upset with Williams because he was out of shape during offseason workouts as well.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The signing of Arian Foster put Williams roster spot in danger, and it doesn't sound like he is doing much to make a compelling case to stay on the roster. Isaiah Pead and Daniel Thomas could get more run in camp and the preseason and maybe even stick as the fourth running back if Williams can't redeem himself soon.

29. OAK - RB Roy Helu released

Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Vic Tafur

Oakland Raiders RB Roy Helu was released Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fifth round pick DeAndre Washington's path to the passing down role is clear now. If he can flash on his touches there, he could to cut into Latavius Murray's starter workload. He's one of the best rookie running backs to target in the second half of drafts.

30. NYJ - NYJ open to keeping four QBs

Source: The Associated Press - Dennis Waszak Jr.

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles said it is conceivable that the Jets will keep four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If they don't, they will have to release fourth-round pick from 2015 Bryce Petty or Geno Smith. Smith would likely be snapped up by a team with a poor backup situation like Indianapolis or Kansas City. The Jets could shop Smith for a late-round pick if they are planning on releasing him or otherwise have a roster crunch and need to free up a spot.

31. CIN - TE Tyler Eifert to shed boot soon

Source: ESPN.com - Coley Harvey

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (ankle) is expected to have the walking boot on his surgically repaired ankle removed at some point next week. He will test his ankle with mobility and other range-of-motion exercises when the boot is removed. Eifert said his rehab is going well but does not have a timetable for his return.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert playing Week 1 is still a longshot, and it's possible that he'll miss multiple games. The Bengals will take it slow with his recovery. If you take Eifert as your TE1, you'll need to take a strong TE2 to cover him, including possible setbacks.

32. BAL - TE Dennis Pitta wants to start

Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta (hip) said he wants to win the starting tight end job during training camp. He said he does not believe that he has lost a step even though he missed the last two years because of hip problems.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Pitta has a chance to play a significant role with two of the wide receivers nursing injuries and Crockett Gillmore already banged up, but there's no assurance that Pitta will look like the player he was before two hip fractures.

33. TEN - WR Andre Johnson signing with Titans

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Free-agent WR Andre Johnson (Colts) is signing with the Tennessee Titans Friday, July 29. Terms weren't disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's hard to see how Johnson can benefit the Titans outside of mentoring the younger receiver corps. He could push Harry Douglas out of a job, but Johnson looked like he had little to contribute on an NFL field last year.

34. NE - WR Julian Edelman, WR Danny Amendola progress

Source: WEEI.com - Ryan Hannable

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) an WR Danny Amendola (ankle, knee) ran hills Friday, July 29, and appear close to returning to practice.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Edelman was a PPR WR1 last year before going down, but he is falling to WR2 range in the late third in early drafts this year. If he can get back on the field early in camp, it will be a good sign. The Patriots trading for Martellus Bennett could make this primarily a two tight end attack, so Edelman might not be as central to the red zone pass offense as he was last year.

35. PHI - RB Ryan Mathews expected back next week

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) is expected to begin practicing next week, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is the best news we could have hoped for, but the specter of Mathews' injury-ridden past has been raised. He was very efficient last year on a limited workload, but if the Eagles plan on using him like a feature back, history points to missed games and lots of time on the injury report. Mathews' potential reward makes him worth a pick in the 6th or 7th, but Darren Sproles will play a large role in any scenario, and we have been reminded of Mathews' main risk.

36. MIA - DE Dion Jordan reinstated

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Miami Dolphins DE Dion Jordan has been conditionally reinstated by the league Friday, July 29. He'll be in counseling and will be re-evaluated before the start of the season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jordan will get 1.7 million dollars if he's on the roster for the fifth day of training camp (which is Monday), so the Dolphins will be under the gun to determine whether he is worth keeping. Cameron Wake is coming back from an achilles tear and Mario Williams is a bit of an unknown, with only Andre Branch and Terrance Fede providing NFL experience behind them. Unless Jordan looks like he will unable to contribute much this year, they should keep him.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

40. DAL - Two Cowboys defenders to reserve list

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Dallas Cowboys LB Rolando McClain and DE Randy Gregory were placed on the Reserve/Did Not Report list Friday, July 29.

Both players are on thin ice with the Cowboys, which means they are on thin ice with the NFL as a whole. McClain had already basically come back from the dead after failing with the Raiders as a top 10 pick. Gregory was known to be a big character risk, and appears to have reinforced the trend of teams being more conservative about players with big talent, but big off field questions.

41. DAL - RB Lance Dunbar to PUP

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar (knee) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dunbar tore his ACL, MCL and patellar tendon in his left knee last year. We are unlikely to see him before Week 7, if we see him at all.

42. JAX - WR Marqise Lee's injury not serious

Source: The Florida Times-Union - Phillip Heilman

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (hamstring) will not be sidelined for an extended period of time because of his hamstring injury but there is no timetable for his return, according to head coach Gus Bradley. Lee was able to do some jogging during practice Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Whatever hope there was that this year would be different for Lee is quickly fading. Even if he only misses a week or two with the injury, this is all too familiar a pattern for the albino tiger.

43. DEN - QB Mark Sanchez benched at practice

Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez was benched after throwing an interception at practice Friday, July 29, and was replaced by QB Trevor Siemian, who led the first-team offense for the remainder of practice. Head coach Gary Kubiak said after practice he expects Sanchez and Siemian to receive an equal amount of reps over the next couple of weeks.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team is treating Sanchez like he is not guaranteed to start, but turning to 2015 seventh-round pick Trevor Siemian is not a great fallback position. Most reports say first-round pick Paxton Lynch is not ready. While this team won a Super Bowl with Peyton Manning playing like a dead man walking last year, it still can get worse for this passing game and offense.

44. ARI - TE Jermaine Gresham leaves early

Source: The Arizona Republic - Kent Somers

Arizona Cardinals TE Jermaine Gresham (undisclosed) left practice early Friday, July 29, because of an undisclosed reason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gresham turned down 12 million guaranteed from the Bears to take one million from the Cardinals. If he has an injury that cuts into his camp time, it could help 2014 second round pick Troy NIklas have a better chance of hanging onto a roster spot.

45. CLE - OLB Emmanuel Ogbah working at DE

Source: ClevelandBrowns.com - Andrew Gribble

Cleveland Browns DE Emmanuel Ogbah is receiving work at defense end at the start of training camp since the team lost DE Desmond Bryant (pectoral) for the season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ogbah has the size to put his hand on the ground, but he was seen as a possible 3-4 OLB when the Browns took him at the top of the second round. If he gets converted to a 3-4 DE and his position designation changes in league software, it will represent a bump in value in IDP leagues.

46. NYJ - CB Darrelle Revis should be ready for Week 1

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles said is not sure when CB Darrelle Revis (wrist) will be able to participate in team drills but believes Revis will be ready for Week 1.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Revis isn't the shutdown corner he used to be, but with Sheldon Richardson suspended for Week 1, the Jets will need Revis to match up with AJ Green and the Bengals.

47. NO - RB C.J. Spiller's reps limited

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Triplett

New Orleans Saints RB C.J. Spiller had his repetitions reduced in practice Friday, July 29, which head coach Sean Payton said they will do with several veterans in training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Spiller's roster spot is not assured and even if he does make the team, his role will obviously be limited if the team doesn't trust him to stay healthy with full participation in camp while he's not nursing an injury. If it is concentrated in the passing game a la Darren Sproles, Spiller could still matter in fantasy leagues, but we'll believe it when we see it. He'll go down as one of the biggest teases in recent fantasy football history.

48. DAL - TE Gavin Escobar avoids PUP

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys TE Gavin Escobar (Achilles') was not placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is a good sign for Escobar's ability to get back to his pre-injury form, although that form was far from justifying the second-round pick the Cowboys spent on him in 2013. James Hanna is on the PUP to open camp, so Escobar surprisingly is the one with a leg up here in the quest to be the #2 tight end.

49. BAL - WR Mike Wallace passes conditioning test

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace passed his conditioning test Friday, July 29, and he is taking part in practice.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wallace's failed test looks like a mere blip now, but it is still a warning that he is not the player he used to be. The Ravens might have overreached paying him 4.5 million dollars guaranteed. He still has late round sleeper value if Breshad Perriman looks like he won't be ready for the beginning of the season.

50. LA - QB Case Keenum not sweating QB Jared Goff

Source: Los Angeles Times - Steve Dilbeck

Los Angeles Rams QB Case Keenum said Thursday, July 28, this is the first time he has entered training camp atop the depth chart, and he believes the competition with QB Jared Goff will make both he and Goff and the team better.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Rams have a tough decision here, as Goff could benefit from more time in the incubator, but Keenum is unlikely to make them competitive. Goff's pocket presence and level of competition at Cal seemed to indicate that he wouldn't have as rough a transition to the NFL as #2 pick Carson Wentz, but the Rams aren't contending for the Super Bowl this year in any case, so the smarter move here is to sit Goff at the beginning of the season unless he clearly outplays Keenum in training camp.

51. NO - QB Drew Brees sticking to contract deadline

Source: The New Orleans Times-Picayune - Josh Katzenstein

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees said during training camp Thursday, July 28, he is sticking to his Week 1 contract extension deadline. 'My mind will be on the preparation, week to week, on the next opponent,' Brees said. 'If there's (a deal) to be done, it's between now and the season.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brees is 37, so the Saints might not be eager to pay him the going rate of at least 15-20 million a year for a top-end starting quarterback or guarantee money in future years, but the quarterback market is empty, so they may not have a choice. The development of 2015 third-round pick Garrett Grayson this summer could be a key variable in these negotiations. Obviously, owners of Brees and any Saints skill player in dynasty leagues want this to get done.

Oakland Raiders OT Austin Howard is working at right tackle with the first-team offense during practice Friday, July 29.

2013 second-round pick Menelik Watson was seen as a high ceiling but raw prospect coming out and he is Howard's main competition.

Pittsburgh Steelers OT Alejandro Villanueva worked at left tackle with the first-team offense during practice Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kelvin Beachum signed with the Jaguars this offseason, leaving the former Army Ranger who served in Afghanistan and earned a Bronze Star as the team's starting left tackle. His development this summer should be one of the clues of this offensive line will bounce back from another injury-riddled season.

54. PIT - Xavier Grimble sees time with first team

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Chris Adamski

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Xavier Grimble received snaps with the first-team offense during 11-on-11 drills Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ladarius Green is still coming back from offseason ankle surgery and 2015 fifth-round pick Jesse James isn't as well suited to play in the downfield passing game. So every day Green misses is a good thing for Grimble, who has good hands and ball skills and has been the subject of positive offseason reporting as he has been working his way up from the practice squad.

55. NYG - S Darian Thompson with first-team defense

Source: New York Daily News - Pat Leonard

New York Giants FS Darian Thompson played with the first-team defense Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The sad thing for the Giants is that the rookie should represent an upgrade in the Giants secondary as long as he is better than Cooper Taylor, Mykkele Thompson, or Nat Berhe. Thompson is a good late-round sleeper in IDP leagues and stash in IDP dynasty leagues.

56. JAX - Kelvin Beachum practices in full

Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran

Jacksonville Jaguars OT Kelvin Beachum (knee) was a full participant in practice Friday, July 29. When he was on the field OT Luke Joeckel moved to left guard.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Joeckel is part of the cavalcade of busts in the 2013 first round, so Beachum's good health is going to represent an upgrade on the offensive line.

57. DET - CB Darius Slay lands big deal

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Detroit Lions CB Darius Slay agreed to a four-year, $50.2 million extension Friday, July 29, with $23 fully guaranteed, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Slay elevated his game to near "shutdown" level last year. The Lions were smart to lock him at a reasonable price this year and avoid the 2017 free agent market setting his value, which would have surely been higher. Teams are usually more accurate evaluating their own talent and get the best deals when they extend their own before their contracts are up.

58. JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon out of practice

Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (ankle) is out of practice Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No reason to overreact to this news which appears to be related to a cleat issue, but if Yeldon's health continues to be an issue well into August, it could give Chris Ivory an edge for early season touches in a backfield that most expect to be split near 50/50.

59. PIT - CB Senquez Golson working as nickel back

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Chris Adamski

Pittsburgh Steelers CB Senquez Golson lined up as the nickel back during practice Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The second-round pick from 2015 missed the entire season, so just to have him on the field is a great win for the Steelers. He should be the biggest upgrade to the secondary this year, with this year's first-round pick Artie Burns being rawer than the typical first-round corner.

60. MIA - Laremy Tunsil moves around

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins OT Laremy Tunsil worked with the second-team offense at left tackle and left guard during practice Friday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tunsil will have to work his way up the depth chart. If he is just a top backup going into the season, that still likely represents a big plus for an offensive line that has had trouble keeping pressure off of Ryan Tannehill in recent years, including a left tackle, Branden Albert, that has only played in all 16 games once in his career.

61. BAL - Jake Long not signing with Ravens

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent OT Jake Long (Falcons) declined to sign an injury waiver Friday, July 29, and will not sign with the Baltimore Ravens. Long texted ESPN saying that his knee feels great, was enthused by Dr. James Andrews' review of his knee this week, and he looks forward to playing this season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Long was poised to be a strong veteran swing tackle for a team that was starting a rookie at left tackle, and maybe even get in the mix to start at left guard, but all that is off for now. If it's just a question of the Ravens' medical staff's opinion, Long could catch on elsewhere.

62. PIT - ILB Lawrence Timmons not close to extension

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Mark Kaboly

Pittsburgh Steelers LB Lawrence Timmons isn't close to a contract extension, and he's slated to become a free agent at the end of the season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Timmons represents a 15 million dollar cap hit this year, which is too much for a 30-year linebacker who was coming out at times in subpackages for the first time in his career last year. The Steelers have a long history of letting players test the market if their demands are more than they think the player is worth. 2016 seventh-round pick Tyler Matakevich is a deep sleeper in dynasty IDP leagues on the possibility that Timmons walks in 2017.
