1. DEN - OLB Von Miller wants to sign soon

Source: The Denver Post - Troy E. Renck

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller wants to get a long-term deal done before the July 15 deadline. If a deal is not done by that time, Miller would have to play the 2016 season under the franchise tag, something he has already said he won't do.

All signs point to Miller getting the deal he wants from the Broncos...perhaps even before the July 15th deadline. After a month of posturing in June, the ball got rolling over the 4th of July weekend. With less than a week until the deadline, expect the two sides to work out an agreement that makes Miller the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.

2. DEN - Denver working on signing OLB Von Miller

Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller has received two new contract proposals over the last few days, and the two sides are expected to speak again Saturday, July 9. The Broncos have agreed to move up some of the guaranteed money from 2018 to 2017 as part of their new proposal.

The Broncos are making strong moves to get this deal done with Miller. The deadline to sign the All-Pro pass-rusher to a long-term contract is Friday, July 15th. With the positive momentum here, don't be surprised if Miller is signed earlier in the week.

3. GB - TE TE Jared Cook is healthy again

Source: Christine Troyke - Gwinnett Daily Post

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook is healthy again after foot surgery sidelined him during OTAs earlier this year according to Christine Troyke from the Gwinnett Daily Post. Playing with QB Aaron Rodgers is something Cook is looking forward to. “Just seeing what he’s done with the tight ends the previous years, and how they’ve grown in that system and gotten better from playing with him is exciting,” Cook said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Physical ability has never been a question with Cook. In college at South Carolina, former Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier compared Cook's natural ability to that of former Lions superstar WR Calvin Johnson. The Packers should have one of the league's best passing attacks with Rodgers leading the way. Cook could be a low-end TE1 if he becomes a favorite of Rodgers...especially in the red zone. Right now, Cook's historical lack of production is baked into his ADP of TE20 (13.12) in 12-team PPR leauges.

4. NFL - WR WR Roddy White plans to play in 2016

Source: Jarvis Davis - CBS Atlanta

Former Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White says he plans to play in 2016 according to Jarvis Davis from CBS Atlanta. "I wanna play for a winner, so, you know, if it comes down to it and I have to wait… to get on a team that’s winning, then I’ll do that.” White said in the interview.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The ole 'veteran wants to play for a winner' take coming from White, but after a disappointing season with the Falcons in 2015 we can't imagine teams lined up around the block to sign him. Perhaps he could latch on with someone in training camp. White insists Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan's offense was the problem--and not his declining skill set. We're pretty sure he's not the same player he used to be and White is unlikely to have any fantasy value no matter where he signs.

5. NYG - Solid workload for RB Rashad Jennings?

Source: Giants.com - John Schmeelk

New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings could see around 15 to 18 carries per game in 2016, according to John Schmeelk of giants.com. Jennings will still be the Giants' primary running back, with RB Shane Vereen serving as the third-down back.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Jennings can stay healthy in his age-31 season, he could be a RB2 or strong flex play for fantasy owners. He has good ability as a receiver, but the Giants may want to mix in Vereen (or rookie Paul Perkins) as a pass-catching back. Right now, fantasy owners see Jennings as RB38 (8.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.

6. NYG - TE Will Tye 'wonderful' during offseason

Source: Giants.com

New York Giants TE Will Tye 'caught everything' that came in his direction and 'showed remarkable consistency for a second-year player' during organized training activities and minicamps, according to Giants.com's John Schmeelk.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The second-year player from Stony Brook turned heads in 2015. In the final eight games of his rookie season, Tye was targeted 50 times for 34 receptions , 387 yards and 3 touchdowns. Pro-rate that over a full season, and Tye could have a TE1 season for fantasy owners. In order to do that, Tye will have to beat out veteran Larry Donnell in training camp for the Giants top TE spot.

7. KC - S Eric Berry hopes for long-term deal

Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor

Kansas City Chiefs SS Eric Berry said he wants to sign a long-term deal with the Chiefs but is surprised by how slow contract talks have gone to this point. The Chiefs have until July 15 to sign Berry to a long-term deal.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're surprised there's no been more movement here with Berry. He wants a deal that makes him the highest-paid safety in the league, and the Chiefs may (should?) oblige. Berry has the highest average for a safety in 2016 if he plays on the one-year franchise tender of $10.8 million. The veteran may be looking for a deal larger than what Harrison Smith (Vikings) got earlier this year, five-year, $51.5 million with $28.5 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $10.2 million.

8. MIN - WR Cordarrelle Patterson can be productive

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Jim Souhan

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson logged 469 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns over the final six games of 2013, and the Vikings ranked 13th in total yards. He touched the ball four times from scrimmage last year, and the Vikings ranked 29th.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's no doubt that Patterson has a ton of physical talent and potential. However, potential is a dirty/filthy word and Patterson has not played up to what he's capable of--not even close--in the pros. If he's more focused, then perhaps he could start to show off his incredible natural talent as an open-field runner after the catch. In the Vikings, run-heavy offense we don't see him having much (if any) fantasy value.

9. DEN - CB Aqib Talib could receive suspension

Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Legwold

Denver Broncos CB Aqib Talib (leg) could receive a suspension for his involvement in a shooting incident this offseason that resulted in him being shot in the leg. The police still have an open investigation on the incident. CB Bradley Roby would enter the starting lineup if Talib is suspended.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Roby has starter's potential, and he plays a lot in the Broncos' nickel package. However, we don't feel Talib is going to get a suspension....yet. The legal process will have to exhaust itself before the league steps in with any discipline, and that may not be until next year.
