DAL - Ezekiel Elliott gives Dallas a scare but is fine

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott fell to the ground making a cut during a drill at minicamp Friday, May 6, and running backs coach Gary Brown told Elliott to slow down a bit. He is fine and finished practice without any issues.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

As NFL.com noted, this time last year Jacksonville rookie Dante Fowler -- like Elliott, a top five pick -- suffered a torn ACL in his first practice with the team. "We don't need that," Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown said of the slip, according to ESPN.com. "That's why I told him to slow down a little bit."

NYG - Paul Perkins the total package?

Source: New York Daily News - Ebenezer Samuel

New York Giants RB Paul Perkins was called a 'complete back' by the team, and Perkins said he feels he will be used to his full capability.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Perkins is one of our favorite "sleeper" RBs to watch from this draft class. He's got a game similar to that of Jamaal Charles (Chiefs). Perkins is a speed back who can make defenders miss in the open field. He can also be utilized as an effective receiver out of the backfield. Currently buried on the depth chart with the Giants, Perkins is still a player fantasy owners need to become familiar with.

GB - Three rookies sign pacts with Pack

Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

The Green Bay Packers and LB Blake Martinez agreed to a four-year contract Friday, May 6. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft, No. 131 overall. The team also agreed to terms with DE Dean Lowry, a fourth-round pick, and OT Kyle Murphy, a sixth-round selection.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Measuring in at 6'6" Lowry is a lunch-pail guy who plays with a lot of heart and hustle. Martinez is a physical defender who loves contact and arrives at the ball-carrier with nasty intentions.

JAX - Jonathan Woodard signs rookie deal

Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran

Jacksonville Jaguars DE Jonathan Woodard signed his rookie contract Saturday, May 7.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Woodard has length (6'6") that allows him to get to the QB around the edge. He'll need to learn better technique if he wants to develop as a pass-rusher. The seventh-round pick may need a year of seasoning on the practice squad.

SD - Matt Slauson joins Chargers

Source: ESPN - Adam Caplan

Free-agent OG Matt Slauson (Bears) agreed to a two-year deal with the San Diego Chargers Saturday, May 7, according to a source.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chargers continue to upgrade their offensive line...a note that Melvin Gordon's fantasy owners should take note of. The team has worked diligently to improve their rushing attack after Gordon had a disappointing rookie season in 2015.

MIA - DE Cameron Wake should be ready

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins DE Cameron Wake (Achilles') is expected to be ready to play by Week 1, according to defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Achilles' injuries aren't quite as devastating as they used to be. However, at age 34 we should see Wake limited to a part-time role as a pass-rusher for the Dolphins defense. There's a chance the veteran could be ready sometime during training camp.

SEA - Vernon Adams hopes to join Seattle

Source: ESPN.com - Sheil Kapadia

Undrafted free-agent QB Vernon Adams Jr. (Oregon) said he hopes to sign with the Seattle Seahawks after his tryout with the team this weekend. Adams will look to sign with the Washington Redskins if he is not able to win a job with the Seahawks.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Adams would fit in well with the Seahawks as a developmental QB. He's built like Russell Wilson as both are shorter for the position, but Adams needs to improve his pass placement ability. He's athletic like Wilson, and Adams can easily keep plays alive with his feet while keeping his eyes downfield.

CIN - DT Dominique Easley works out

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

Free-agent DT Dominique Easley (Patriots) recently worked out for the Cincinnati Bengals, according to a source. Easley has also worked out for other teams.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Easley is still only 24 years old, and if he's healthy there's no question that he can be a force on the defensive line. The Falcons have shown interest in Easley as well, and there's no question that he'll find a new home before training camp.

MIN - Three draft picks signed

Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

The Minnesota Vikings signed OG Willie Beavers, their fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, as well as fifth-round pick LB Kentrell Brothers and seventh-round pick DE Stephen Weatherly Friday, May 6.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brothers is one of the most instinctive linebackers in this draft class. He's not super athletic, but he's got a nose for the ball and finds himself always around the play. Weatherly is an interesting edge-rusher who could develop for the Vikings defense.

KC - Five draft picks locked up by KC

Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs signed OL Parker Ehinger, QB Kevin Hogan, LB Dadi Nicolas, WR Demarcus Robinson and DB D.J. White to contracts Friday, May 6. Financial terms of the deals were undisclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hogan is an interesting developmental QB with toughness, moxie and strong leadership qualities. He needs a ton of mechanical work, but we like the Chiefs taking a chance on him. Robinson is incredibly fast and can fly by a defense. Big plays are old hat for Robinson, and he can flip the field in the blink of an eye. We'll see if he can finally play up to his potential after a career with the Florida Gators that was marred by four suspensions.

SEA - Seattle might lock up WR Doug Baldwin

Source: 710 ESPN Seattle - Danny O'Neil

The Seattle Seahawks might ink WR Doug Baldwin to a contract extension this offseason in an effort to free up some room under the salary cap.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

At this time, the Seahawks have about $10.5 million in cap space. With a few moves here and there, we could see them approach Baldwin about a long-term deal. Baldwin had his first 1,000-yard season last year and he finished the season as the 7th-best fantasy WR in standard-scoring leagues. Those 14 TDs he scored in 2015 will be difficult to duplicate; especially with TE Jimmy Graham healthy and an emerging playmaker in second-year WR Tyler Lockett.

MIA - Jakeem Grant inks deal in Miami

Source: Yahoo! Sports - Rand Getlin

The Miami Dolphins signed WR Jakeem Grant to a four-year contract Friday, May 6. Financial terms were undisclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We have a new Trindon Holliday in the NFL, and his name is Jakeem Grant. He's incredibly short, measuring in at only 5'6" 165 pounds but the kid is lightning in a bottle. Grant has incredible straight-line speed which immediately makes him a dangerous option as a return man. The Dolphins may even get creative in sub-packages and get this guy on the field as a speedy slot.
