1. BAL - TE Ben Watson suffers torn Achilles'

Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport

Baltimore Ravens TE Benjamin Watson (Achilles') left the field after only two plays Saturday, Aug. 27, against the Detroit Lions, and was later diagnosed with a torn Achilles', ending his season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tough news for Watson and Joe Flacco and the Ravens. It's a mixed and injured bag behind him with Maxx Williams, Crockett Gillmore and Dennis Pitta likely to see most of the work.

2. DAL - QB Tony Romo has broken bone in back

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) suffered a fractured vertebra in his back against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, Aug. 25. He is expected to miss six to 10 weeks.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There are some who feel Romo could return after the team's Week 7 bye. We're not so sure that's the case. However, Romo doesn't need surgery to correct the problem and that should help his recovery. While he's out, rookie Dak Prescott will get to start for the Cowboys. He's a QB2 with upside because of his rushing ability and the rest of the offense around him in Dallas.

3. BAL - Kenneth Dixon injured Saturday

Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon (leg, ankle) was carried off the field Saturday, Aug. 27, after suffering a lower-body injury on a goal-line run against the Detroit Lions.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for the rookie here. We'll have to hear more about the injury, but it did not look good.

4. PIT - Le'Veon Bell feels good

Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (knee) said his knee felt good during the preseason game against the New Orleans Saints Friday, Aug. 26, and expects to feel even better after his three-game suspension.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Steelers here. The suspension has a silver lining, and that is the extra time Bell gets to recover. With a three-game suspension, don't be afraid to take Bell in the late first round of your fantasy draft. Sure, you'll be without him for a few weeks but when he returns Bell is going to be one of the best fantasy RBs in the league.

5. PIT - WR Antonio Brown in top form

Source: ESPN.com

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown caught all four of his targets for 87 yards and a touchdown against the New Orleans Saints Friday, Aug. 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Just in case anyone needed a reminder why Brown is the consensus #1 pick in almost all formats.

6. DAL - DE Randy Gregory may miss whole year

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys DE Randy Gregory will serve a 10-game suspension to start the 2016 season, but the belief among the Cowboys is that Gregory won't play at all this year. Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com believes the Cowboys will look for more pass-rushing help for their final roster.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys are in a bad spot on the defensive side of the ball. Demarcus Lawrence is suspended to start the year, and the roster is incredibly thin on the defensive line.

7. NO - RB Daniel Lasco suffers head injury

Source: The New Orleans Times-Picayune - Herbie Teope

New Orleans Saints RB Daniel Lasco (head) left the preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth quarter Friday, Aug. 26, after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from LB Vince Williams. He walked off the field with the assistance of a trainer after being down on the ground for several minutes and headed for the locker room.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if the rookie gets put in the concussion protocol. We like Lasco's all-purpose ability and are interested in monitoring his development in all dynasty formats.

8. MIA - WR Jakeem Grant on track to be returner

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins WR Jakeem Grant appears to be close to winning the kick and punt returner jobs. He is averaging 25.5 yards per kick return and 12.2 yards per punt return during the preseason. It is not known if he will be used in the offense during the regular season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Grant might have been the quickest player in college football when he played at Texas Tech. He's small (5'6" 165 pounds) but is electric with the ball in his hands.

9. MIA - DE Cameron Wake fine with current role

Source: Sun-Sentinel - Chris Perkins

Miami Dolphins DE Cameron Wake (Achilles') said he is fine with being used as a pass-rush specialist at this point because he is still not completely recovered from his Achilles' tendon injury.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's only nine months removed from his Achilles' injury, so a limited role has to be the best remedy. Wake may not be back to his old form until much later in the season.

10. GB - RB John Crockett injured

Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers RB John Crockett (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury during the preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers Friday, Aug. 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crockett has struggled with injury during his time in the NFL. He's a back who doesn't elude contact, and this shoulder injury could slow him down.

11. SF - QB Colin Kaepernick has quiet performance

Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick went 2-for-6 for 14 yards in the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers Friday, Aug. 26. He also rushed for 18 yards on four carries. Kaepernick said he believes he still has a chance to win the starting quarterback job.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kaepernick didn't do himself any favors in the competition for starting QB. Blaine Gabbert is still entrenched as the early-season starter (in our opinion), and Kaepernick is still trying to get his game back on track.

12. SF - RB Shaun Draughn misses another game

Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers RB Shaun Draughn (ribs) was not able to play in the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers Friday, Aug. 26, because of injured ribs.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Draughn is still considered the primary backup to Carlos Hyde at this time according to head coach Chip Kelly. With Hyde (concussion) banged up, we could see more opportunity for guys like Draughn or Mike Davis.

13. SF - RB Carlos Hyde suffers concussion

Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (concussion) suffered a concussion during the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers Friday, Aug. 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hyde is going to be in the concussion protocol until he's cleared by the team. Watch his ADP with drafts going on around the country. Right now, Hyde is still going off the board at RB16 (4.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. That may drop a bit depending on how long this concussion lingers.

14. BUF - Jonathan Williams should be fine

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Buffalo Bills RB Jonathan Williams (rib) tested out fine after the preseason game against the Washington Redskins Friday, Aug. 26. Williams left the game because of a rib injury.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The rookie is a power back who seeks contact, so a rib injury can be especially problematic. Williams may be limited next week in practice.

15. CLE - WR Josh Gordon makes presence felt

Source: ESPN.com

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon caught two passes for 87 yards and a touchdown in a 30-13 preseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday, Aug. 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon's size, speed and ability to adjust to the ball in flight made for big plays at the end of Robert Griffin III rainbows downfield. He's going in the 5th-7th round range, and Gordon has the demonstrated ability, offense, and quarterbacks to more than pay off at that price despite a four-game suspension to begin the season.

16. CLE - QB Robert Griffin III sacked five times

Source: ESPN.com

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III was sacked five times in a 30-13 preseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday, Aug. 26. He completed eight of his 14 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown and ran once for four yards.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Griffin made good things happen as a downfield passer, but he was also under fire in a way that made observers hold their breath on many plays. The aggressive nature of the Browns offense is good for Griffin's fantasy prospects, but let's keep Josh McCown on our waiver wire speed dial.

17. WAS - Three scores for QB Kirk Cousins

Source: The Associated Press

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins completed 12 of his 23 passes for 188 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in a 21-16 preseason win over the Buffalo Bills Friday, Aug. 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cousins is going to be the center of his offense as much as quarterback this side of Drew Brees. He had more rushing touchdowns (5) than all Washington running backs combined last year. He's a value pick outside of the top 12 quarterbacks.

18. TB - WR Mike Evans breaks out

Source: ESPN.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans caught five passes for 115 yards and a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns Friday, Aug. 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Evans showed off his speed and athleticism in a 6'5" package, converting two downfield passes into big gains. If the Bucs offense gets more aggressive with no huddle and vertical passing, Evans could pay off on his 2nd round ADP.

19. TB - QB Jameis Winston shreds Cleveland

Source: ESPN.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston completed 16 of his 25 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns Friday, Aug. 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Winston was moving around well, buying time, and finding his talented wide receiver combination downfield. He has a very rough stretch of Arizona, Los Angeles, Carolina, and Denver weeks 2-5 followed by his bye, but after that, Winston should be good to go in fantasy leagues.

20. PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger tosses two scores

Source: ESPN.com

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger completed 12 of his 17 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints Friday, Aug. 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Roethlisberger had sat for the first two preseason games. He hooked up with Antonio Brown for a long score and also fed now starting TE Jesse James in the short passing game, including a touchdown.
